The Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy, based in Washington, D.C., provides responsible expert insights relating to global finance. In addition to providing thought leadership, the center’s scholars devise frameworks for financial regulation and policy and facilitate open discussions among leading academics, market participants, and policymakers. ABOUT THE CENTER Through influential thought leadership and rigorous, independent, and timely research, the Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy impacts policy and practice for market participants around the world. Housed at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, the center accomplishes this by: • Convening conferences and events in Washington, D.C., and around the world for leading scholars, market participants, and policymakers; • Advancing the global dialogue on the ways in which financial markets impact society; • Providing a nonpartisan forum for informed discussion; • Conducting and disseminating original research on key issues faced by the global society; and • Cultivating undergraduate and graduate students to become principled leaders with a global mindset to be in service to business and society. In this way, the center offers valuable guidance to policymakers and market participants. A weekly seminar series featuring invited scholars from top universities and institutions around the world creates a forum for academics to present and discuss relevant topics.

TRAINING FUTURE LEADERS The Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy cultivates tomorrow’s financial sector leaders, offering many opportunities for students interested in business and policy. The center brings prominent speakers to the McDonough School of Business, including business leaders and policymakers, who share their knowledge and experiences. These speakers and events present students with the chance to network and connect with employers. In addition, both undergraduate and graduate students gain valuable experience as the center’s research assistants, helping with faculty research, preparing for center events, and implementing online marketing strategies.
