Georgetown contributes to the career search in innumerable ways, but one of its greatest strengths is that you begin preparing for your career on day one. As soon as I arrived on the Hilltop I was exposed to all of the resources I could need and more. I was guided by both peers and mentors throughout the entirety of my Georgetown experience to get to where I am now—and the Georgetown network means I am only experiencing the beginning.

I chose the McDonough School of Business to pursue my undergraduate degree because I knew the time and money that my family and I invested in it would pay off. Honestly, there is a high return on investment. I was surprised at how quickly I was immersed into the business culture at Georgetown, and I have felt exponentially prepared for the work I currently do.

The most influential aspect of the Undergraduate Program is its emphasis on cultivating a global mindset, which is important to living and working in an interconnected world. The school’s student body is exceptionally diverse with students from all across the world and different backgrounds, which brings necessary diversity of thought into the classroom. McDonough also partners with global brands like The Estée Lauder Companies and Cartier, and my participation in such programs made for huge stepping stones in my career.

“ Coming into Georgetown, my career goal was, and still is, to be in the global development of human resources. I want to find solutions to solve critical global healthcare policies and problems through a clear understanding of a wide variety of people, global policy makers, care providers, and innovators with the goal of gaining their trust to create a positive impact on public health in a fun-filled and productive work environment for all stakeholders. I knew Georgetown would allow me to gain the tools I needed to excel not only within the HR field but also holistically as a contributing member of society.

I believe my experiences at Georgetown helped to shape who I am and allowed me to explore my interests before looking into internships to further that exploration. While taking a business and global affairs class I learned a lot about government, business, and technology, which is what sparked my interest and led me to apply for an internship at the Department of the Treasury. The McDonough program is unique in its way of fostering a culture of collaboration in the classrooms, a global outlook in business, and a do-good attitude in the world.
