It is an honor to welcome you to our 2023 Graduate Alumni Reunion.
Our alumni community helps define the McDonough School of Business, and we want to create even more meaningful engagement opportunities for you. At McDonough, we are guided by True North — doing what is good for our students and academic scholarship. This extends to you as alumni in many forms. Lifelong learning is a key opportunity we have to ensure you continue to benefit from your Georgetown degree. So, whether you pick up some tips from our faculty panels or reconnect with classmates in your industry or in a different profession, there is always more to learn and experience.
Our community remains vibrant whether you’re on campus or across the globe. Please continue engaging with us and each other after the weekend is over, whether it’s through co-teaching a course with faculty, mentoring a student, or connecting with other alumni at events around the world. We hope to see you again soon.
We are thrilled you have returned to the Hilltop to engage with one another and your alma mater. Our programming was planned by the incredible 2023 Alumni Reunion Planning Committee, who worked hard to make this weekend memorable. Thank you for taking time to be with us this weekend. We hope you, your family, and your friends enjoy the celebration.
And after reunion, I encourage you to stay involved — take advantage of the global Georgetown network at future events or join your classmates in helping us build a stronger community.

The McDonough School of Business seeks to increase the quantity and competitiveness of scholarships offered to enroll highly talented students. Consistent annual support will help achieve this goal and prepare the next generation of globally minded, principled leaders to be in service to business and society.
The mission of the MBA Alumni Advisory Council (MAAC) is to strengthen the engagement of Georgetown McDonough MBA alumni in the activities of the school and among the members of core constituencies — MBA alumni, MBA students, and MBA faculty and staff — toward the broader goals of the program.
MAAC members advise Georgetown McDonough’s Dean and Senior Associate Dean for MBA Programs on MBA curricular, co-curricular, and alumni programs; partner with the school’s Office of Alumni Relations to increase the active engagement of alumni in all aspects of the school’s goals and activities; and promote broader alumni engagement in admissions and career services activities that are critical to the success of the school.

Georgetown McDonough has worked to create a diverse and academically rigorous community in its MBA program by enrolling top young professionals with a broad range of perspectives and experiences. As McDonough competes with other top business schools for the most talented MBA candidates, the school recognizes a strategic imperative to increase the amount of scholarship funding it offers each year to its graduate students.
At present, Georgetown McDonough is significantly outmatched by peer and aspirant schools in resources available for scholarship funding. To ensure its ability to enroll top students with the experience and intellect to create a first-class educational environment, McDonough seeks to meaningfully increase the quantity and competitiveness of the scholarship support it provides. The school has a long-term ambition to increase the annual scholarship funding it awards to $5 million per full-time MBA class — a total of $10 million per year.
Donor support for MBA scholarships is essential to achieving this $10 million goal — enabling the school to both increase accepted student yield rates and to attract and retain the highest caliber applicants.
In support of this goal, we invite and appreciate your consideration of a gift to support MBA scholarships. Your generosity will be critical to enhancing the global competitiveness and financial accessibility of the institution.
Establishing an endowed MBA scholarship is the most permanent way to support talented students in Georgetown McDonough’s MBA program. The minimum level to create a new endowed fund at Georgetown is $100,000, often paid in installments over five years. After the final payment on the endowment pledge is made, a portion of the investment income — currently 5% of the fund’s principal — is paid out annually in support of the named scholarship. Income in excess of 5% is reinvested so that the value of the fund will grow over time.
Current use scholarship gifts provide funds over a fixed term that make an immediate impact on Georgetown’s ability to attract and enroll competitive applicants. These gifts allow Georgetown to respond with agility to the most urgent need with funds that can be expended as soon as the university receives them.
On behalf of our future alumni, thank you for your consideration of a gift to support MBA scholarships. Please contact Jupiter El-Asmar, assistant director, MBA and McCourt Annual giving, at giving@georgetown.edu.
As part of our mission to support the personal and professional advancement of our alumni, the Office of Alumni Relations partners with a variety of university and alumni organizations, leveraging their capacity to suit your needs.
