In 1998, the school gymnasium, which had been built during the Great Depression, was renovated into the Catharine E. Nolan Performing Arts Center. Enlarged to accommodate a theater and dance studio, the building was named for “Kitty” Nolan ’29, a longtime friend of Visitation who served as the Executive Secretary of the Alumnae Association for 15 years (1949–64). Groundbreaking took place in April 1997, and it was dedicated on October 4, 1998, at a well-attended kick-off event and picnic to celebrate the school and Monastery’s bicentennial. tor's Note c e r i D Welcome back to Nolan! Thank you for joining us and supporting the arts at Georgetown Visitation. We are so excited to have a live audience for this show. The production team and cast & crew have diligently worked to present this amazing performance of Masqueraders’ Musical Revue. Musical revues gained popularity in the late 19th century thanks to Florenz Ziegfeld and the ever-changing world. Visi Arts has continued to pivot and create despite the everchanging world. The Masqueraders Musical Revue is a production of love, perseverance, and a large amount of creativity. This production reinforces our commitment to keeping the arts alive at Visitation; providing a place where every student can learn and grow as artists and people. As we prepare to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Nolan Center, we are proud to incorporate ASL interpreters for this and future productions. We will continue to strive to create new and inclusive arts experiences for our students and audiences. On behalf of the entire cast & crew, a special “thank you” to the entire Visitation community. Thank you to the GVPA and the many parents who have graciously donated items, time, and talent. Thank you to Lisette, Maurya, Marika, and Ginnie for your support and creativity! You are the best!! Thank you to School Days Productions for their creativity and impeccable professionalism. Thank you to our amazing musicians! Thank you to the Sisters for their smiles and prayers. L REVU A C I S U E Synopsis M

The Hamilton Theatre is the home to the Masqueraders, a ragtag band of enthusiasts actors. The Masqueraders have come to say their farewells to their beloved home. The theatre was organized by sisters, Ally and Maeve Hamilton (no actual relation) as a place where actors, a tech crew, and audiences were able to create magic together. Unfortunately, like many neighborhoods, things are changing. An unexpected company has purchased the theatre. While packing their things, the Masqueraders remember the good times, possibly mending relationships, and facing their new realities.

Neptune Pringle, III is an accomplished musician, choreographer, performer, director, and teacher. His parents saw that God had given him a great gift and quickly sought to nurture it. At 5 years old, Neptune began playing the drums in church. His musical instrument interest quickly shifted. It was at his home church of Heavenly Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Jersey City, NJ, where Johnnice Knight-Blake, the Minister of Music, introduced him to the organ. Neptune plays multiple instruments, has studied various styles of dance and music, and has studied with some of the world’s greatest artists. He is a proud graduate of The National Dance Institute, where he studied under NYC Ballet principal dancer, Jacques D'Amboise. He is an alumnus of The Richard Stockton University, where he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He holds degrees in Music, African & African-American Studies, and Economics. Sharing his passion for the arts around the world, Neptune directs, conducts workshops and master classes for churches, schools, cultural organizations, and performing arts organizations. In his fourth year at Visitation, Neptune loves working and creating magic with the Visi students and Visi Arts staff. Maurya Sorokes ’06 has served as the Technical Director at Nolan Center since 2016, before which time she served as the Co-Technical Director for three years. After graduating from Visitation, Maurya attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. While at school, Maurya worked as a scenic carpenter and lighting technician on school and outside productions.
