Why Is Staging A Home So Important?
Ancient History of 7 Self-Care Remedies with Lessons By Laney For thousands of years, humans have been scrubbing, steeping, massaging and pampering their bodies in the name of beauty and wellness. From Europe to China, America to Egypt, our world’s oldest cultures believed in the healing of body, mind and soul.
You can find a great deal of information on Ayurveda practices on many popular, well respected websites such as John Hopkins and the Cleveland Clinic.
2nd: Bathing Rituals
Our ancestors knew the many benefits of promoting relaxation, reducing anxiety, stress and fatigue and having an overall sense of positive well being meant a better life and looking good to boot!
4th: Reiki and Self Massage Many ancient remedies from around the globe have been making a comeback in today’s spa experiences. Some of which you can do in the privacy of your home and others may be more beneficial to have professionally done. (Quick disclaimer - this information is for educational purposes only and does not substitute medical advice).
First: Ayurveda
For centuries many countries and villages had public baths. From Ancient Rome and Asia to India, bathing was considered very important to health, cleanliness and healing and bathing in groups was not uncommon, especially for certain cultures and religions.
Though today public bathhouses are not as common as many have concerns about cleanliness and the spread of diseases, many spas offer cool and hot water steamy showers and private baths and scrubs to rejuvenate the skin. Easy enough to do at home, start off with a very warm bath or shower and follow up with a cool rinse. This helps to improve circulation, collagen production and bring a healthy glow to the skin. It is also recommended (believe it or not) you do not shower or bathe daily.
Ayur = life, Veda = knowledge. Pronounced Ai Yr Vay Duh These self care rituals began over 3,000 years ago and are still practiced today. They are based on 3 main pillars: Vata, Pitta and Kapha which are drawn from the elements of water, air, earth energies. It is based on the foundation that disease is caused by an imbalance or stress. Pranayama breathing, meditation, yoga, healthy foods, and certain herbs, lotions and skincare help to bring back balance and restore health.
The Cleveland Clinic Website www.clevelandclinic.com has great information on how to perform self-Reiki and self massage to destress. Though visiting a professional Reiki Master or Massage Therapist is the bomb, you can certainly do some of the massages yourself with lots of benefits of self-soothing and relaxation.
5th: Lemon Water
Several times a week experts seems to feel is sufficient to not dry out skin. Of course, this is a personal preference!
3rd: Essential and Aroma Therapy In other articles we have discussed the wonderful benefits of Essential and Aroma Therapies. These are stil highly recommended, come in many wonderful scents and choices and were used regularly in ancient self care rituals. Lavender, Jasmine, Tea Tea Oil, Euchalyptus were just some of the many aromas that were used in both beauty and wellness for thousands of years.
Whether hot or cold, water with infused lemon juice is one of the best ways to detox our bodies and skin. It is highly recommended to incorporate this daily to maintain optimum health, glowy skin and complexion. You can also use lime juice. Water is still the best way to hydrate our bodies. Just be sure to keep it to a few glasses a day and not overdue.

Ancient History of 7 Self-Care Remedies with Lessons By Laney Sixth: Apple Cider Vinegar
It goes without saying that a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar can do wonders for your health.
Studies and research have shown that people who exercise daily (even in moderation) tend to live longer, healthier, happy lives. Incorporate that with quiet meditation for a few minutes a day and it could really positively change your life! You don’t need to be a gym rat at all. Brisk walking, yoga poses, taking deep relaxing breaths and also working out with light weights to build muscle and stamina can really increase longevity and health. (Talk to your healthcare provider if you have any limitations or concerns). Laney Zukerman is a Certified Life Coach and College Instructor based in NY, NY. Conveniently located, Laney specializes in relationship issues, narcissistic personality, and divorce. Contact them today to overcome the challenges you are facing.
You can add to tea, water, juices, foods especially salads to gain lots of benefits. It helps with supporting our immune systems and helps to reduce inflammation. Apple Cider Vinegar in small amounts is also a benefit for our furry pals. Again, another ancient ingredient that works wonders.
Lastly, Yoga, Meditation, Deep Breathing and General Exercise
Not matter what the season, taking care of yourself and following some ancient wisdom can have such a positive impact on your life. Happy Fall and Happy Holidays!
Ancient Art and History shows us that many cultures around the world practiced meditations, physical activities and yoga poses.
With Warmest Wishes, Laney Z.

"The decision to become an entrepreneur wasn't just about financial success or professional achievements. It was about forging connections, nurturing relationships, and making a positive impact in peoples lives. I craved the opportunity to create a community, a space where collaboration, growth, and mutual support thrived. Having a business degree certainly provided me with a strong foundation, but it was the warmth of human connections that fueled my entrepreneurial spirit. The experiences of helping others build their dreams taught me the importance of empathy, understanding, and genuine connection in business."
Each passion brings something unique to your life, and they can all coexist and thrive together. Now, here's the important part: prioritize and focus. While it's wonderful to have multiple passions, it's crucial to understand that you can't give equal attention to all of them at the same time. Start by identifying your core passions—the ones that truly ignite your soul. These will become your primary focus areas. Once you've identified your core passions, create a plan. Set clear goals for each one and break them down into actionable steps. This will help you stay focused and make progress in each area. Remember, it's okay if progress is gradual. Rome wasn't built in a day, and success takes time. Another piece of advice is to leverage your strengths and find synergy among your passions. Look for ways to combine or integrate them whenever possible. This can create unique opportunities for growth and fulfillment. For example, if you're passionate about writing and photography, consider starting a blog or creating visual storytelling content.
Amidst the chaos, I always make sure to inject moments of joy, laughter, and celebration into our journey. After all, life is an incredible adventure, and I'm determined to rock it every step of the way!"
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
"First and foremost, embrace your multipassionate nature. You don't have to choose just one passion and let the others fade away. Embrace the fact that you have a diverse range of interests and talents.
Photo: C & D Photography
"Managing multiple businesses while homeschooling my children is a juggling act, but I've found a routine that works for me. Each day, I prioritize my family by starting with homeschooling my two youngest children. We enjoy learning together and creating a nurturing environment. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is essential, so I carve out moments for selfcare and quality time with my family. Taking short breaks for walks or engaging in mindfulness exercises keeps me refreshed and focused."
Don't be afraid to seek support and surround yourself with a positive and understanding community. Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion and understand the challenges and joys of pursuing multiple endeavors. Their encouragement, advice, and insights can be invaluable on your journey."
What is a goal you have for yourself in the next year? "I am stepping into my 40’s this October and I am taking this year to be more of myself. Whatever that looks like I am game. That is my goal."
What advice do you have for women who have multiple passions and making them ALL successful?!

New Photography Business Inspired After 10 years in Social Work Meet Rachel Walter of Raw Memories Photo How do you differentiate yourself as a photographer? "I really care about capturing the life twisting roller coaster ride that we call life with laughs and fun. I feel that I always bring a fun upbeat energy to every photoshoot I've done. I take the time to get to know my clients like we are old friends! Therefore, they can just be themselves with me. I've had a ton of fun with each person and family I've worked with. Leaving them laughing and excited to see the outcome of our time together. I'm lucky enough to be your time travel companion, capturing your past, embracing your present and illuminating what will be your future. Photo: @sydneymanuelephotography
We are so excited to spotlight Rising Photographer, Rachel Walter founder of Raw Memories Photo! A lot of images in this issue are from this rockstar! "I grew up as someone who always had a camera on me.
One of my favorite tricks is to say I'm done with a certain pose or prompt and then keep clicking right after. That's when some of the most relaxed natural moments occur and I get to capture them.
ARE
I also play off the energy that people give me. If they are goofy and want to try something, we sure as heck are going to try it!"
What are some of your favorite people/places/things to shoot?
Ever since my mom bought me my first point and shoot Olympus camera in 6th grade. I always took photos of my friends and they called me the "paparazzi".
YOU NEXT?
They hated it then, but love having all those photos from those times in our lives now."
What inspired the name of your business? "I spent a while figuring out what I wanted the name of my business to be. First and foremost, I wanted to capture those undisguised moments as they are, as they happen and deliver the most stunning versions of those memories. I also loved the idea of using Memories in my name as that is exactly what photos are here to do, to freeze the moments and memories so that we have them tangibly to hold onto."
"I love to shoot families and kids. Their goofy laughs and embracing their parents or loved ones is beautiful. Newborns and first birthday shoots are a love of mine. Babies keep everyone happy even when they are pooping or crying. They are a representation of life and laughter and love. Those shoots always bring me so much joy. I also recently did a beach sunset shoot and loved all the different angles and the glow. That one was fun."

New Photography Business Inspired After 10 years In Social Work Meet Rachel Walter of Raw Memories Photo However, it's a journey and doesn't happen overnight. I work nights and weekends on my business and show up to work during the work week. Time management is key and sticking to the plans that you set. If you say that you are going to work on your business from 6-8pm tonight, stick to that plan."
What is one of your most memorable jobs you have done? @seana-williamsonphotography
We know by day you are a social worker as well which is so amazing, what advice would you share to someone who does work full time but has big dreams they want to pursue?
"So far, I feel that my first ever newborn shoot is one of my most memorable. I went in there not knowing what I was doing, having done some research online and just really wanting to capture the momma and baby connecting.
"Another shoot that I would have to say was a game changer for me as to what I want to shoot was an indoor maternity shoot with a baking theme. The fact that a client came to me with an idea and vision and I was able to help her achieve it made me so excited for that shoot, but also for photoshoots in the future. Being able to create, and plan and deliver was one of the most exciting moments I ever felt in my adult career life and it made me want to work one on one with all my clients to bring their vision to life."
What is NEXT for Rachel as we head into 2024? "2024 is hopefully the year I start to take on some weddings. I want to plan to be able to comfortably work with couples as they reach this pivotal exciting moment in their lives.

3 Ways on How To Incorporate More Self- Love Into Your Life with Mindset Coach & International Speaker, Jackie Roby Can you share with us 3 tips on how to incorporate more self- love?
What inspired you to fall into the world of public speaking?
"Start by writing down 10 things you love about yourself. Start each with "I love". Make sure they're centered on you. For example, if you love your team then you want to say "I love how I have built a team that works together happily and brings so many skills."
Photo: Kyeana Jones

Who is NEXT to know about?! Jackie Roby, Founder of Inspired Journey Consulting, Mindset Coach, International Speaker and Podcaster. Jackie is SO talented in her craft with a vast background in hospitality and diversity equity inclusion we couldn't have more amazing things to share about this amazing woman.
Then choose 3-5 of these statements and start saying them to yourself in the mirror every day for 14 days. Look yourself in the eye when you do this. There is power in hearing your own voice and seeing yourself during these proclamations of love. Finally, consider looking into your Human Design. It will help you uncover more about who you're designed to be so you can love yourself fully."
We know you have spoken so many amazing places including Dubai! What has been your favorite thus far?
As Founder of Inspired Journey Consulting being a Mindset Coach and International Speaker, share with us more about how you fell into your industry?
Photo: Bryan K
I get to do that now through mindset coaching, speaking, and workshops."
The pain and healing from that specific scenario helped me to see that my voice matters. After a lifetime of being silenced, this was a huge revelation. When this person died, I said to my sister, "One day I will tell this story on big stages so this horrific event will help others feel less alone. It has to have a purpose." Within a matter of days, an opportunity landed in my inbox to do just that."
What topics do you love to talk about? "At the core of every talk or workshop I do is honoring your value. I love speaking about "uncomfortable" topics like depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, inclusion and oppression, setting boundaries, and quieting self-doubt."
What is goal for yourself as we head into 2024?
"When I opened my business in October 2019, it was meant to showcase wellness travel. I had spent my career in travel and hospitality, so this direction felt aligned. What I didn't expect was that being an entrepreneur would become another healing journey. Just like our own personal transformations when we do the inner work, Inspired Journey Consulting evolved. But the mission has always remained the same. To enhance emotional intelligence, healing, and self-love for a kinder, more inclusive world.
"Big T trauma has been a big part of my story starting with sexual abuse from a family member at the young age of three.
"That's tough. Part of the joy of travel is changing spaces and being with people who have positive energy. Speaking in a tent on the beach in Dubai was phenomenal. And I also loved speaking in a meeting room at a resort in Connecticut because I saw the shift in the attendees from just an hour together."
ARE YOU NEXT?
"I plan to write a book or two. While I want it to be on my list of goals, I also believe it will come to fruition when it's supposed to. Honestly, I had it on my list for 2023 and things changed. My best goal would be to help at least 300 people in 2024 through coaching and speaking. If I can support someone's shift towards a more emotionally well life, I'll be winning."

3 things to consider when it comes to looking into The ingredients we use in our homes WITH toxin free product expert, maria murphy It’s the label on the back that tells the real story. There, you’ll find the ingredients list, if there is one and if you can even read it. Unfortunately, this doesn’t help very much since the chemical names are unfamiliar to most of us.
Photo:Jenny Chou Photography
Maria is changing lives left and right including our founders home. We couldn't wait to spotlight her this issue discussing a healthier option to live with less chemicals in your home or even on your skin!
What inspired you to become an advocate for toxin free products? "During 1st grade my son gradually got sicker and sicker with severe migraines and asthma. An Asthma attack would come on suddenly. His airways would swell at the same time.
Second: Google Search. You’d have to search each ingredient on the internet to find out if it’s safe or not. Who has time for that!! Take fragrance for example. The fragrance industry regulates itself. No safety testing is required by any regulating body before products are sold to consumers. That’s because fragrances are considered to be a trade secret. Even the words “natural fragrances” can be just as toxic as synthetic fragrances. Third: Shop smart. Choose a company whose entire mission is to educate consumers and provide complete transparency of it’s ingredients and includes a complete line of 100% toxin free products guaranteed, made in their own certified organic facility. Choose a company or individual that cares and empowers people to live the healthiest lifestyle possible for their families, pets + our Earth."
What are 3 items you sell that are great for the homes around the holidays + into the winter?
What are 3 things to consider when it comes to looking into the ingredients we use in our homes? "First: Labels. Be aware that the front label on products can be deceiving by using words like clean, free + clear etc.
Can you share a personal transformation story with the products you offer (or even a customer’s?) "My dearest, customer couldn’t control facial acne, blotchy red patches and infection. She was 24, dating and used heavy foundation to cover the breakouts which made things worse. It was very challenging trying to convince her to try our toxin free skin care set but our money back guarantee eased her mind. She was fascinated and so happy that over time she had a clear and glowing complexion!"
These products are also toxin free for pets as well, correct?
What’s a goal you have for your self this next year?
He went through lots of testing and missed a lot of school.
I never heard of such a thing and there weren’t any toxin free products at that time!!"
Our scalp and face have millions of pores so toxin free treatment is very beneficial to our health. Natural ingredients with pre + probiotics penetrate deep into our cells to offer incredible, improvement in texture and hydration creating a beautiful, healthy glow. "
"Yes, pets are surely affected by harsh chemicals and outdoor hazards. Our shampoo is effective yet gentle. + Paw balm soothes and keeps their paws soft and hydrated."
His nose would be blocked as well as his throat so he couldn’t breathe. I’d whip out the epipen, nebulizer and pray the attack would settle otherwise I’d have to go flying to the hospital! (Which I did many times.)
His allergist found he was severely allergic to synthetic chemicals and preservatives found in food, personal care products and home cleaning products.
Skin and hair care are top priority specially during winter when freezing temperatures and dry heat cause problems.
"It’s my goal to continue educating as many people as possible about the dangers toxins present to our bodies our homes and our planet, where and why they exist and solutions to move towards healthier alternatives that are toxin free and work really well." “Candles are a must for the Holidays. Our toxin free candles are sensational and smell wonderful! Every one loves receiving them as a gift and just like all our products they can be shipped anywhere is the U.S. Surface Cleaner is a work horse around the house! Never far from my reach, it’s super effective for kitchen, bathroom and even electronics. Perfect for holiday cleaning because it leaves a fresh + clean scent your family will love. Great for every day too, as our windows are closed all winter and it won’t leave any lingering, toxic fumes in your home.

FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR SKIN !! with Esthetician Expert, Arlene Maserejian Can you share some 3-5 key ingredients people should look out for when it comes to what they are putting on their skin?
How long should people keep their face washes and skincare products on average before they expire?
" The ingredients that I avoid in my own skincare routine include:
"Most products expire after 1 year. Always check your products. If it comes out watery and chunky it's time to toss that product.
1. Fragrance 2. Oxybenzone (usually in sunscreen) 3. Parabens 4. Alcohol"
Facial sponges should be replenished monthly. "
Photo: Kerry Brett
We are so excited to have Arlene featured in this issue inspiring us with Skincare Tips for the holiday season and beyond. Arlene has been an esthetician for 20 years and she is the Founder and Owner of BeLush Spa in Waltham, MA.
What is trending in the skincare industry for 2024? "The best thing about the beauty industry is that it is constantly growing and there is always something new to learn and to add to my menu of services.
" I first was inspired to become a makeup artist. When I went to school for esthetics, that opened up so many doors for me in the beauty and wellness industry.
The one thing that I absolutely love about the industry is that it has taught our new generations about the importance of skincare and skin health at a young age. In 2024 you will be seeing a lot more of glowing healthy skin and less heavy makeup looks."
I love helping others achieve their skincare goals. I love being able to do lashes, brows, skin treatments and not having to just choose one service. It gives me the opportunity to do what I love. "
As we head into 2024, what are 3 key things people should consider around their skin care routine? "As we head into 2024 our skin will go through some changes as the seasons change here in New England. To keep a healthy GLOW and to protect your skin... Always remember your AM Skincare routine is to protect your skin from your daily lifestyle. Your PM Skincare routine is to correct your skin. (For instance, if you have sun damage or acne scars, your night time skincare regimen will be to correct those areas of skin concerns.) Lastly, always APPLY that sunscreen everyday. Sunscreen is the #1 product you should have in your skincare regimen. If you haven't found that right one seek an Estheticians advice."
Skincare products should be replenished every month to 3 months on average depending on how often it is used.
What is next for Arlene?
What is your take on sunscreen in the winter time? "Sunscreen should be applied every morning, everyday, and all year round. Make it apart of your skincare regimen and you won't even realize it's an extra step added. It becomes apart of your routine and a healthy one may I add. "
"I have a few things up my sleeve for 2024. I'm excited to close out 2023 and welcome new opportunities. One thing I do know is that I will always be in the Aesthetics Industry."
How often should people do facials? "Facials are recommended monthly. Cell turnover is every 28 days but I know it does seem like wow adding facials to my monthly EVERYTHING else that I have going on can be a lot. I personally recommend getting facials every season change here in New England. If you have skin concerns that can be treated with Peels, Microneedling, Microdermabrasion and other more intense specialty facial treatments inbetween facials."

3 Ways to add fun Prints to Your Wardrobe WITH Expert IMAGE CONSULTANT, GINGER BURR Make sure that color is a great color on you. Prints are busy and grab attention so having the main color look amazing on you makes it more likely that you’ll look terrific in the print.
It’s so easy to get stuck in a style rut. If you’ve ever found yourself tossing on your basic workout clothes or your well-worn t-shirt and jeans day after day simply because they’re handy, you know what I mean. Getting dressed becomes more about ease and less about selfexpression. There’s nothing wrong with a basic look if it makes you happy! Many women tell me they feel bored with their clothes. They want to add some personality and joy to their wardrobe, but they aren’t sure how or it feels time-consuming, so day after day they stick with what’s familiar and easy. If you’re struggling with this, let’s explore three ways to add instant variety to an outfit by adding a print to an otherwise plain outfit.
Mix Prints Perhaps you’re already wearing prints and want to add the next layer of pizzazz to your personal style. Mixing prints is the perfect next step! The colors in the small photo of Diane are too pastel on her so she disappears in that print. In the other photos, both the teal and red are stunning colors on her and harmonize beautifully with her natural coloring.
Once again, the first thing you want to consider when combining prints is color. Repeating at least one color in both prints is the glue that makes the look feel cohesive and harmonious.
Start Small There are two things that often keep women from wearing prints: 1. They feel like the print overwhelms them. 2. They can’t find a print they like. Both of these considerations are easily remedied. First of all, if you want to add a print, but you feel self-conscious, start small: Add a scarf to an otherwise solidcolored outfit.
The #1 Way to Choose Your Best Print Make sure the predominant color in the print is one of your best. Here’s how to do that: Look at the print. Close your eyes. Open your eyes. Which color do you see first?
If that looks like fun, but you can’t find a print you like, keep looking. There are lots of prints out there (not just the giant florals they keep pushing on us!). Since you only need a few prints in your wardrobe to add that spark, it’s worth it to keep looking until you find the one(s) you love.
What’s your next step? As you keep these fashion tips in mind, take a peek in your closet. What prints do you already own that you can now confidently revitalize? Or do you have a print that is the wrong color or too overwhelming so now you can let it go? Perhaps you will uncover prints in your closet that share a color theme so you can pair them together. Whatever you do, have fun!
Yes, Pam looks lovely in the golden color of the blouse, but the print scarf adds a pop of personality and joy without feeling overwhelming.

How to Use Psychic Protection Around The Holidays with Psychic Medium Mari Cartagenova Have you ever gone into a place where the energy just feels off? You look around at the environment and nothing visually looks strange but you just feel uncomfortable. This is your intuition talking to you. Everybody has intuition or psychic abilities. Not just people like myself that work in the field. So it is important to know how to use those abilities to protect yourself and preserve your mental energy. Especially around this time of year when there’s lots of gatherings and holidays and possibly drama with family or friends, knowing how to protect your energy psychically is extremely important.
You are safe. You are protected. Allow that energy to then swirl around you creating a golden bubble. You are within this golden bubble. Whenever you go outside or walk around, this golden bubble of protection will go with you. Then to close the energy circuit start at the top of your head and allow that energy to go all the way through your body out the toes and soles of your feet. By doing this, you are grounding your energy to the earth. Then take another deep breath, put your hands on your heart and say loud or just think to yourself “I am protected. All is well”. Then when you go into your event, you will have set the intention that this energetic bubble of golden light is around you, and therefore making it harder for other peoples sticky or negative energy to bother you.
Second: Before going into an event or even the office is to make sure that you pull your own energy or your aura in tightly around your body.

Almost as if you have a thin layer of saran wrap surrounding your body & energy field. You can pull that tightly in and keep it close to you. Allow that energy to then circle around your body and drain down into the ground again. It’s always important to ground your energy into the earth as this is also part of what keeps you emotionally tethered and grounded.
There are many different ways that you can take care of your own energy, today I am going to share two of my favorites. First: One of the simplest things you can try is the Golden Bubble of Light exercise.
Before I go into any gathering, or if I know there’s going to be a lot of people or perhaps some tension, I sit myself down and do this one minute exercise. Sit in a quiet place and allow yourself to breathe slowly. Imagine your energy dropping down into the center of your body.
To explain this simply think of it this way: You know when you are surrounded by people you love you feel very relaxed and your energy is open and receptive . However, if you were on a dark subway at night, and you feel nervous, you would sort of retract your energy, make yourself a little smaller and not be so energetically open. You can do this anytime, anywhere to protect your energy. For instance, if I’m going into the supermarket and it’s very crowded, I will retract my aura or my energy as tight around me as possible. Before I get out of the car, I will imagine my energy around me and visualize that energy getting closer and closer and closer and tighter to my body.

The Power of Somatic Healing with High-Performance Transformational, Coach Megan Marini What is Somatic Healing? "Healing takes place at different levels or systems, which people sometimes conflate or blend together. Somatic work utilizes a different system to effect change—the nervous system. It involves a bottom-up release, where memories and emotions are stored. While we can understand our issues intellectually, we often can't change them by simply knowing them.
We are so excited to spotlight Megan Marini. Megan is a high-performance transformational coach. We all know highachievers give their all, but at what cost? Eventually, something gives - relationships, health, or falling into repetitive patterns.
This is where somatic work becomes a valuable option. Somatic healing entails integrating the past by recognizing and honoring what has happened. It involves accessing the body's language to release stored emotions and trauma. When trauma occurs, we create shields and walls, trapping ourselves within them.
As someone who has personally struggled with mental health and trauma, Megan knows how empowering it is to be able to feel more attuned to your authentic self, more at home within.
When the pandemic hit, I began incorporating alternative healing methods to support clients with more personal issues. Raised in an environment focused on healing and meditation, and having personally struggled with mental health, it made perfect sense to incorporate these practices to help others. Now, I help my clients create significant shifts by fostering behavioral changes and upgrading their inner landscape. Rather than repeating the same patterns, we can live with greater awareness."
"First: Feeling more at home in your body, experiencing reduced anxiety and increased inner stillness. Second: Enhanced attunement to your most authentic self. Third: Breaking free from compulsive patterns that used to dictate your life."
If someone is skeptical about somatic healing, can you provide an example of looking at it from a different perspective? "I understand that the term "trauma" can be intimidating for some. I would only recommend somatic healing to someone who has already engaged in other forms of therapy, such as talk therapy or coaching, and has reached a plateau. You know when something feels physically stuck in your body, and talking about it no longer provides relief. This is the perfect time to explore somatic release work.
How did you enter the world of Energy Work and Somatic Healing? "During my time running Marketing Superheroes, a small digital marketing agency I owned for over 8 years, I noticed that clients were holding themselves back from success. It became clear that my clients needed more than just the right messaging or branding. Naturally, I started coaching them after our meetings, helping them realign their career paths, address employee issues, and develop strategic alliances. I also during this time, lead communication workshops.
Could you share three ways Somatic Healing can improve one's life?
Energy work involves the chakras or the bioenergetic field. This is the energy we emit, which can be measured and immediately felt. Healing at this level typically lasts about three days. Most people are familiar with Reiki, but I also practice Pranic energy work, shamanic work, and BodyTalk, all of which are considered forms of energy work. Amanda Morgan
Talk therapy or coaching focuses on the mind, taking a top-down approach by addressing the head first and then the body. This is where meaning-making, ruminating, and verbal expression occur. Understanding what has happened through conversation is an essential element of change, particularly with my over-achieving clients who value logic. As you can see, there are multiple layers and systems within us, and a blockage can be located in any of these systems. It is crucial to have the right tool to dislodge and integrate it. While somatic work may not work for everyone, most of my clients achieve the outcomes they sought by engaging in one of the modalities I offer, with custom treatment plans, I build a plan based on their world view, what the issues is, find the technique that works for them."
It is important to note that I am a coach and not a therapist, and my approach is goal-oriented. Although I provide an unconditional space, I am driven by outcomes, aiming to achieve measurable goals. This, combined with my business background, is what I think attracts clients to my services."
What’s next for Megan? "I'm thrilled about my upcoming women's leadership program, Tools of Light. There’s a great group of women coming together in this program, where we will work together to cultivate inner knowing and inner peace. We’ll be working on developing intuition, making peace with our bodies, and practicing inner peace. When we are centered within ourselves, leadership becomes effortless. It will run multiple times throughout the year. If anyone is interested in joining, they can reach me directly! It’s going to be deeply transformative."

Top 3 Tips to Financially Plan your 2024! with Personal Finance Expert, Misty Lynch "Things would have been so different if someone was there encouraging families like mine to save some of the money that was coming in for the future or how to invest.
Photo: Tracye Gregorie
We are so excited to feature Misty as she has such a wealth of knowledge to share.
In the 6th grade I was in a stock market contest in a math class and my mind was blown that you could take money and invest in other businesses and make more money. This stuck with me, and while I now realize it isn't like waiving a magic wand there are a lot of things that people can do to help protect themselves from a financial crisis. Therefore,I became a financial planner because I wish one was there for us when I was a kid.
Misty Lynch, CFP® is a Personal Finance Expert and the Owner and CEO of Sound View Financial Advisors, LLC. Misty hosts the unscripted reality show HEARTBROKE and the Demystifying Money podcast. She is also the author of DEMYSTIFYING MONEY and a personal finance expert and resource for media outlets including The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, CNBC, CNN, Investopedia, Real Simple, Student Loan Hero and many others.
What inspired you to become a Financial Planner? "When I was ten, my families financial situation changed drastically due to a recession in the early 1990's. Once we had to move, it seemed like we went from having everything to having nothing overnight. This was stressful on everyone but from my perspective as a kid it was terrifying. It didn't make sense to me since my parents were smart and they worked hard. The reality was they were good at making money and very good at spending it!" Historically, this was ok. Spending what you make was a fine financial plan for our grandparents who had pensions and lower costs of living but it wasn't that way for us. It seemed so unfair that there was no help for the self employed or small business owners without a ton of investable assets to get advice."
Photo: Tracye Gregorie
What areas do you specialize in when it comes to financial planning? "My clients range in ages and professions but most of them have some small business or self employment income or aspirations. I love helping small business owners so much because I can understand what motivates them and usually they aren't sitting around counting the days until retirement. I can't even tell you how many unhappy people I worked with in corporate that were waiting for the day they could retire or hoping they'd get a severance package. People who want to start a business or a side hustle are motivated to make money (yay!) and have amazing products and services that they want to offer the community. These are the people I want to win and I love helping them figure out a strategy to do it. "
Can you share with us your Top 3 Tips to best set ourselves up for financial planning success this 2023! First: "Do a basic budget - even if you hate the idea of 'budgeting". If you have no idea how much money you are earning and spending it will be really difficult to set financial goals or make measurable progress. This doesn't mean you instantly have to cut back or change - this is for awareness." Second: "Don't beat yourself up about your financial past. If you've made some mistakes or "should have done this sooner" it just means you are human. Money is such a taboo topic that a lot of us don't get the best advice or know what we should do until later in life and that is ok! Our brains like to keep us exactly the way we are because we are alive. We may be unhappy in a dead end job or in debt but we are alive and any changes may feel dangerous at first. Taking action can be a great way to move past this anxiety and that could be sitting down to look at your budget or setting up a discovery call with someone who can help!" Third: "Get very clear about your goals. No one jumps out of bed to pay off their student loans or a credit card bill. Think about what you will do when your finances are beyond that point and even better. How will you feel? What will you spend your time doing? How do you want to make an impact? What will you do more of? What will you do LESS of? Asking yourself better questions can motivate you to take action."
What is NEXT for Misty? Big goal ? "In 2022, I had the most amazing opportunity to host and star in the show HEARTBROKE and my next big goal is to do more work with the media. So much of my work is one on one but there are a lot of systemic problems when it comes to financial literacy that I want to find ways to help on a bigger scale. Lately, I've been working on different ideas for stories for local and national media publications and networks. It's fun to be able to tap into my creative side in this industry. "

are you a local massachusetts business?
check out the massachusetts business network! Tell us about your background. "To put it simply: I’ve been living and breathing marketing since 2012, when I was 15 (yes, 15!) years old. After having a big love for writing my entire life, I decided to start a fashion and lifestyle blog at the beginning of my sophomore year of high school. I treated that blog as if it was a part-time job and spent at least 15-20 hours per week planning my content, creating the content, and trying to get myself “known” to achieve the goal of making money from my blog. I’ve always been super entrepreneurial-minded with long-term plans to have my own business, so thinking, “How can I use this thing to make money?” was natural for me. There was just one little problem: society doesn’t exactly encourage you to start a business at a young age, so I thought that I had to go to college, get my degree, build up a successful 20+ year career at a big marketing agency, and then go off and start my own agency. That was until my mom was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme — Grade IV brain cancer — in January 2016, when I was only a freshman in college. Photo: Kristie Dean
Meet Serial Entrepreneuer, Ashley Mason! Ashley was in one of our issues a couple years back and we couldn't wait to have her back after hearing about her latest business venture, Massachusetts Business Network!
What inspired Massachusetts Business Network? "I have a big love of two things: entrepreneurship and connecting people. As the founder of the Middleboro-based marketing agency Dash of Social, I started my business as a college student and took it full-time upon graduating. Through my success, I realized there were two things that largely contributed to it: my knack for marketing and my ability to seamlessly build relationships and connect with others. I genuinely enjoy finding ways to introduce one person to another when the opportunity presents itself and love when I have that “I need to connect you to so-and-so!” moment. Determined to find a way for other business owners to achieve those same results, the idea for Massachusetts Business Network was born, creating the perfect recipe for helping organizations to expand their audience and establish thought leadership. This idea actually came to fruition during COVID, when many businesses unfortunately were suffering due to closures and didn't necessarily have the budget to hire someone for marketing and visibility. I wanted to find a way to give back to these organizations and provide them with a platform to share their expertise."
Her diagnosis made me realize that life is short, and we don’t have as much time as we think we do to follow our dreams, so the best time to go after what we want is now — and I did. I launched Dash of Social in September 2016, when I was a 19-year-old sophomore in college, and worked hard to be able to take it full-time when I graduated in May 2019."
What is the goal of the Mass Biz Network? "Massachusetts Business Network is a visibility platform that gives business owners and professionals across the state the opportunity to amplify their voices and showcase their expertise through our blog, podcast, directory, and webinars. We're here to provide free to low-cost resources for these organizations so they expand their presence, connect with ideal clients and customers, and have a place where they can learn about all things small business. We also offer various sponsorship opportunities."
What services and things do you offer?

"Business owners and professionals can read our blog posts, sign up for a free or paid listing in our directory, listen to our podcast, attend our monthly webinars, and join MBN University to get access to webinar replays and other educational resources."

Why should you incorporate Human Design into your life? Meet Human Design Expert and Intuitive Coach, Connie Kanella We are so excited to spotlight Connie Kanella. Connie is a popular Intuitive Coach and Human Design Expert! What is Human Design? "Human Design is a system channeled by Ra Uru Hu in 1987 that draws in traditions like the Chinese I-Ching, Judaic Kabbalah, Hindu Chakra System, Eastern and Western Astrology and Quantum physics to help you understand the way you are beautifully designed. It guides you towards your unique soul print and genetic code that has keys to living your purposeful and harmonious life. It’s all about your energy.
How does Human Design differentiate from astrology? "Astrology is within Human Design. The body graph incorporates other aspects as well such as chakras, energy centers and gates. One of the main differences is that the planets in astrology sit within the 12 houses while in human design they sit in the 64 gates. Each gate also has a line (1-6) which adds to its expression giving you lots to interpret there. Human Design also integrates an additional set of planetary positions taken three months before your time of birth. This is seen as the unconscious frequency that your physical body carries in this world."
What is your Human Design and how has it helped you on a personal level?
It has five different energy types ( Manifestor, Manifesting Generator, Generator, Projector, Reflector), 64 gates, 9 energy centers, 12 profiles, 36 channels, 5 authorities and planetary symbols. This is when most people give me a face saying huh?! It’s a complex yet fascinating tool and wild to think that Ra channeled this over 8 days!"
What inspired you to learn more about it? "I was at my lowest point in 2016, burnt out on leave trying to figure out how I was going to get out of it. I felt like a failure and couldn’t understand why I wasn’t able to handle everything on my plate. Being a mom of two young kids, working fulltime, and starting a business, simultaneously, felt like I should have been able to “do it all”. I quickly realized that was all in my head, and my “hard work pays off” family business roots had gotten the best of me. I was shocked to discover that my “burn out” was the result of me not living my life according to who I truly was soulfully. I remember my next session with my coach bawling my eyes out in hopelessness asking for guidance, and that became the moment when my life began to change. I was hooked after that. I also began documenting my experience and wrote a chapter in a book in 2021 called, Stop Overworking and Start Overflowing."
"I am a 1/3 Splenic Projector. I am among 22% of the population who is here to advise and guide and not work your typical 9-5 job. I am here to tap into my inner authority in the moment and connect with invitations where I feel recognized for my gifts and talents. With my 1/3 profile (there are 6 different numbers), I am a seeker of knowledge and value being an expert and learn by trial and error. I am all about self-awareness. Understanding and mastering the self is a huge part of the gift that I bring to this world and those who I support and help. I personally rest often to recalibrate my system since I am so open and can take in a lot of energy. I help others create those systems that work for them whether it be at the individual or organizational level. I have also learned to listen to my inner authority and when I am bitter, I take the time to re-align. I no longer stay in places or with people where I don’t feel recognized. It is a total waste of my energy and my genius."
Why should more people incorporate Human Design into their lives? "It has been a game changer for me. I have shifted from being so upset and angry at myself to accepting the flow and gifts I have to offer. We all serve a purpose and leveraging your design gives you insight into making the tweaks that you need to feel fulfilled. The key to it all is connecting with your own truth. No system should have power over you. It opens you up to your true potential and you get to claim what is unique and true for you. Whether it’s a relationship, career, business, health and wellbeing, or spiritual growth there is insight to consider. I have worked with so many who are thriving because of the self-awareness that it brings, and I know it can help you too."
What is NEXT for Connie? What are you working on within the next few months as we enter into 2024? "I am passionate about helping leaders be successful and am focusing on bringing Human Design to corporate spaces that are open, along with some other tools I am developing. As an L&D leader, I am continuing my team development workshops, and coaching and am excited to launch a strengths and human design leadership experience. I am also looking forward to expanding my work on human capacity and thriving after experiencing burnout."

Why Is Staging A Home So Important? with Owner & Principal Broker of Lyv Realty, Candice Pagliarulo Hodgson It is truly my passion and I love helping the clients we serve in MA, NH and soon to be Maine. I started staging projects inspired by my mom, who l refer to as ‘Fancy Nancy.’ She still helps me sometimes and that makes the projects that much more special when she is involved. We offer staging free of charge to our clients, which is not the norm in the industry. I lend much of my success to the way my listings are presented in the market, with top tier staging and marketing. All of the extras go a long way for the client in terms of maximizing profit, and as far as solidifying our reputation of presenting next level beautiful listings to buyers.”
Why is staging a home so important?
Photo: William Bellis Photography
We are so excited to spotlight Candice with her amazing expertise this issue. With over 27 years of experience in real estate, she is a genuine asset to her clients & her company. Her energetic spirit, love of all aspects of Real Estate, & an aggressive desire to always succeed is what has gotten her to where she is today with 50 agents under her! Candice is a marketing GURU and continually educates herself and her team on the latest marketing technology & methodology.
“Staging a home is paramount to selling faster and at a higher price. Quality staging enhances visual appeal, provides a positive first impression, and helps buyers envision themselves living there. A staged home is far more likely to stand out in the market.”
Can you share with us 3 benefits of staging a home when it comes to selling!
She strives to differentiate herself and her team from the typical old-school real estate agent stereotype by working harder & smarter than the rest.
“Hiring a professional stager is beneficial because they provide expertise in both design and real estate marketing. They also ensure your home is presented at its absolute best. We bring an objective eye to your home, and are pros at curating spaces. We also have a wide variety of furniture and decor at our fingertips, which can be both expensive and time consuming to figure out on your own!”
How long does the staging process normally take? “I’ve staged entire homes in just a few hours! We do whatever it takes. This really depends on the size of your home and the extent to which we are staging. My expert team of movers and associates helps make the process seamless, but typally a full day is ideal.”
What is one of your favorite parts about staging a home? “I LOVE making things beautiful. It's so rewarding to transform a home and it’s possible to make even the oldest or most dated homes shine. I spend a lot of time finding the perfect furniture and decor for the space I’m staging and love incorporating the latest design trends into my projects.” Photo: Luxe Life Productions
Candice is now the Principle Broker of Lyv Realty, a boutique brokerage with over 50 agents and growing. Candice currently works by personal referrals from clients and friends. Candice is also an Accredited Staging Professional with the International Association of Home Staging Professionals, and a proud fundraiser for many local charities and organizations.
What inspired you to work in the real estate world? “I’ve worked in real estate for my entire career. I began working for my Aunt while I was in high school and never looked back. I’ve done it all, from back office operations to major commercial real estate to residential sales and development.
Why should someone hire out to stage their home vs doing it on their own?
Photo: Alisha Maria Photography
“There are so many! First, let’s start with likely the most important advantages to most sellers, staged homes sell 80% faster and for 15% more money on average. 2nd: Staging aids in highlighting key features, while also minimizing distractions and depersonalizing the home. 3rd: A home staged with tasteful and on trend furniture and decor is also far more likely to stand out to potential buyers. Virtual staging cannot accomplish the feeling you want buyers to get upon entering the home.”
If you are looking to become an agent, looking for an amazing team to represent you as a buyer/seller in the Massachusetts, NH and Maine areas, Candice has got you covered!

YOU Are Your Brand. 5 Tips to Help You Step Up Your Fashion Game. With Fashion Expert & GoodRobe & Co Founder & Designer, Jennifer Cassara However, now in 2023, your personal brand is more important than ever. It’s time to step up your game, and step into your power. Below are five tips to help you cultivate your personal style and dress for the life you want.
Identify Your Target Style What does your wardrobe say about you? Does it reflect your personality and support your professional goals? If not, one of the best ways to identify your target style is by seeing it in others. Good places for inspiration are magazines, social media or catalogs. Photo: Mariah Gale
COVID did a number on all of us. It altered our way of life in so many ways, including how we dress. We were already heading in a more casual direction in 2020 when the pandemic forced us to work from home, which saw most people basically wear pajamas all day. We got comfortable, and we got lazy. In addition, it became increasingly more difficult to find core, professional essentials - pieces like classic blazers, button-down shirts, and dress pants. Athleisure was all the rage, and there was no shortage of leggings and joggers.
Pay attention to the looks you admire and specifically the pieces that resonate most with you. Pull the images you like together into a collage or mood board to help you further distill the look you’re aiming for.
Be Discerning Now that you’ve identified your ideal style, use it as a guideline to remove the clothing from your wardrobe that no longer aligns with your vision, and to add the pieces you’re missing.
Accessories Tell Your Style Did someone say accessories? Maybe the most important component of an outfit is how you accessorize it. Sort of like the way seasonings add flavor to your meal, accessories add personality to your outfit. Black pants take on a whole different look if you pair them with sneakers and a denim jacket versus a blazer and heels. The right accessories can easily take an outfit from day to dinner and work to weekend. Have fun with them and remember to use them to reflect your own unique style.
Fit Matters Do not take the fit for granted. The way your clothing fits can make or break an outfit. Especially with core pieces, I cannot recommend proper tailoring enough. Get the sleeves shortened, take the waist in if needed. Even better is if you get the right size to begin with. You obviously don’t want your clothing to be too tight, but sometimes erring on too big is just as much of a problem. Don’t be afraid to size up or down when necessary. Photo: Mariah Gale
But, a word of caution, be discerning. Especially in the beginning, be sure to follow your style roadmap to a tee. With every piece, you should ask yourself if it reflects the style you want it to. If it doesn’t, you shouldn’t buy it. As my mom used to say, “When in doubt, do without.”
Lean On Basics A great way to begin building (or rebuilding) your wardrobe is to start with a strong foundation in basics. These core essentials should be ones that you can wear all year long and will last you for many years to come because they won’t soon go out of style. Blazers, buttondowns, classic tees and dress pants are my favorite go-to pieces that are easy to dress up or dress down depending on how you accessorize them.
Jennifer Cassara is a 30-year veteran of the fashion industry and a professional wardrobe stylist. She’s held positions as buyer and divisional merchandise manager with retailers like Lord & Taylor, Filene’s Basement and The Paper Store. She is currently the VP of Sales and Marketing with Periwinkle Jewelry and the founder of GoodRobe & Co., a women’s apparel company dedicated to helping women build an effortlessly stylish wardrobe.

I was taking time off and a dear friend of mine asked me to cover a press conference for NAAMES a NASA funded earth science mission. I went as a favor and like most things in my life, random, 24 hours later I found myself on a research ship for more than a month in the North-Atlantic. Yes, I got seasick! I continued to work with the earth science teams to make their studies relatable to the general audience and report on their incredible human journeys too. "
We are so excited to spotlight Nicole. Nicole is one-of-a- kind in her world. She is one of the most down to earth and humble reporters/producers we know! We also have to brag on her behalf, she is a 4x Emmy Award winning Reporter and Producer! If you don't know her, now is the time!
Can you share with us how you fell into the world of lifestyle TV? "I fell into this lovely world by way of the tough stuff. After interning at Chronicle when I was in college, I spent many years as a news reporter covering the daily happenings of the community. I knew I wanted to share more in-depth stories and the “happier” side of life on a more regular basis. So, I applied to work at Chronicle every year for over a decade. Honestly, I gave up and three months later they had an opening for me…go figure!"
What were you doing prior to TV? "I had a brief career in radio before transitioning to TV."
"This is NOT an easy question. Everything from the silly to the serious is memorable and meaningful to me. I feel blessed that people are vulnerable enough to share their stories with us and trust us to share it with our audience. What a gift! There was a story I covered in Atlanta about a police officer who needed a kidney transplant. Someone saw it in Texas and after many years that single need resulted in hundreds of exchanged donations. This story really reminded me that sometimes it feels like you are just making your two minute contribution to the show but it could mean the world to someone else. Stories about people overcoming incredible obstacles to create a new life are among my favorites to share. There are so many people on this planet who remind me what being human, the ups and the downs, and the navigation through kindness and vulnerability is all about."
What 2 pieces of advice do you have to small business owners in the lifestyle space in terms of finding ways to stand out? "First: Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable! I know it takes incredible courage and a MAJOR leap of faith to run your own business. I mean, hey, I’m not doing it! Don’t forget that vulnerability is OK. Share your personal story and others will naturally want to hear it! Second: Be authentic! We (people in my business) cover MANY stories. We don’t want the one you saw online, we already heard that one. We want YOU!"
What is a goal you have for yourself in the next year? " My first goal is to learn how to grow a proper tomato (seriously, why can I not get this right?) While I search for my green thumb, my second goal is to have some of that business owner bravery rub off on me!"

Next On Scene Spotlight: Kelly Sullivan Meet Inspiring Working Mom and Boston25 Reporter Making Waves In Boston
We are so excited to spotlight Kelly Sullivan. Not only is she so renown in the world of local television around Boston but she has a true heart of gold.
Can you share with us how you fell into the world of TV news?
Can you share one of your most memorable things you have covered this year to date?
3rd: As you start your day, think about the one thing you're really looking forward to!
"My most memorable stories have been my BYOB stories. Each person has a unique and individual path of how they decided to leave their cushy, full-time job with benefits to dive into the entrepreneurial world, full of ups and downs as a small business owner. I give them a ton of credit for being so courageous and following their dreams. I wish I had half the passion and drive they have and I am always in awe of how hard they work to make their dreams become a reality."
Is it picking up my kids after practice? What workout will I do today that will kick my butt? Or will I treat myself with a Dunks run later?
We know you are on early in the morning, can you share 4 tips that help get you motivated in the morning?
I hate hearing my own voice and watching myself on TV. Sometimes I dwell on the mistakes that I’ve made or constantly think about the could’ve, would’ve and should’ve.
She was prepared, listened, and never backed down. I wanted to be like her. I always loved learning new things and getting to the bottom of the story. I took tv classes in middle and high school and knew that’s what I wanted to do."
What is a goal you have for yourself in the next year? "To try to be more present and put the phone down when I’m home with my husband and kids.
What was your first job as a reporter?
What types of work do you cover now? "I work as a morning reporter, covering the day-of news. I also fill-in anchor and cover traffic when our main traffic reporter is out. I do countless live shots on location. I also set up, interview, and write feature stories as part of the BYOB (Be Your Own Boss) series I started over a year ago. I love the balance of covering the ‘happening today’ stories or breaking news and then featuring local people in our community living out their dreams!"
4th: Try to not beat yourself up too much. We all are our own worst critics.
I can’t change the past. What I can change is how I deal with moving forward. I’ve been working hard to accept a mistake, learn from it, and then keep going. It’s not easy, but it’s a necessary exercise to do mentally if I want to keep getting better in my personal and professional life."
"When I was in middle school, I always remember my mom turning on the Today Show in the morning. What stuck out to me was Katie Couric interviewing top officials with tough questions.
"I signed my first contract before I graduated college. Days after graduation, I packed my car and drove eight hours south to Harrisonburg, VA to work at WHSV. I knew no one at the station but quickly made friends and loved every second of it, despite the hard work!"
I am a very structured person, so I need to find the small things that might be out of the routine that keep me motivated.
"1st: Go to bed with a clear head and then hit the ground running the next day! Amanda Morgan
Even though my alarm goes off at 2:30 am, I love the fact that when I wake up, I have no idea what I’ll cover that day. I rarely am pre-assigned stories and when I am, I don’t like it because I’ll go to bed already thinking about what I have to do the next day. 2nd: Look at each day as a new opportunity to make it a great one. We can’t have the perfect day each day. We need bad days to learn from mistakes and make ourselves better. I wake up thinking, what can I learn today? What challenges or obstacles will I overcome to make myself stronger and become a better person?
I find it’s so easy to just lean on the counter, scroll through my phone and try to ignore the fact that my kids are running all over the place. I need to seize every moment when my kids are young. I also need to have more faceto-face conversations with my husband about what’s going on in our day while we are both home together. (He works nights, so during the week we only see each other for about an hour). Social media is good for connecting, but as the saying goes—everything in moderation."

Next On Scene Spotlight: Alaina Pinto Meet Rockstar New England Influencer Inspiring Hidden Gem Experiences What do you specifically like to cover and promote? "Anything positive that will get us out of the house and into this world! We have one life to live and I hope we can see as much of it as possible even if it’s in our own state/city/neighborhood."
What is was the first thing you ever promoted as an influencer? We are so excited to spotlight Alaina. She is SO much fun. Whenever Alaina makes the time to show up, you know it's going to be a great time!
What inspired you to become an influencer? "I wanted to share happy information with a community that’s interested in enjoying the world! For now it’s my world in New England but I’d love to keep exploring and sharing. "
How would you define what an influencer is? "Someone who is a curious researcher in a specific field that wants to share what they find with the world through social media."
"To be honest, I have no idea when I adopted that specific terminology. I want to say it was probably a beach I loved or a mountain I enjoyed hiking and at the time it wasn’t called “influencing.”
What 3 tips do you have for people who want to get into the influencing world? "First: Delete imposter syndrome feelings. Second: Stop comparing. Third: Be willing to learn how to shoot, edit, and tell a story featuring YOU as the storyteller."
What is a goal you have for yourself for the next year?
Can you share the value of working with an influencer. Where do you see influencers being the most beneficial to companies/brands? "When a business/brand aligns with an influencer that is similar in style/brand magic happens. Search to partner with influencers that have a brand that aligns with what you have created. The value is advertisement in an *authentic* way that is targeting an audience you want to see your service/product. Amanda Morgan
It’s similar to advertising in a magazine or TV. it’s just now on social media and being created by, usually, one individual who has similar interests in what you(the business) have created. Plus they offer an audience who typically would be interested in what you (the business) have created but only if brands/style align."
Prior to influencing, what is your background! "Tv News."
"Get to Connecticut and Rhode Island (sorry I’ve left you out of my New England adventures for so long). "

Next On Scene Spotlight: Matt Shearer Meet WBZ's Talented Radio Personality and Social Media Influencer What were you doing prior to radio? "Since I got started so young, not much!
What are two of your favorite things you do with your kiddos?
I did have other part time jobs throughout my teens. I had been a Lifeguard, Snowboard Instructor, Soccer Referee, and even the IT help desk in college. I was also one of those obnoxious people that called my college's alumni asking for money. We are so excited to spotlight Matt. Matt is so talented in his craft. He is amazing at shining light on talent that tends to get overlooked. He is also hilarious, you will get inspired and a good laugh when you follow Matt!
Shout out to Emerson College, and sorry to everyone who I bothered on the phone."
Can you share with us how you fell into the world of radio?
"My favorite story that I've covered is called "Yard Meat".
"My high school had a small radio station (shout out to WHAB, 89.1-FM in Acton, MA). My friends and I jokingly signed up for it. We planned to do a talk show about skateboarding.
It was a profile of two hilarious guys in Gloucester who started their own "drive thru" in their front yard. They handed out burgers to anyone who pulls up.
When the day came for our on-air debut, I was the only one that actually took it seriously, and I had an absolute blast.
The city and state health inspectors have been trying to shut them down, but since they're not "selling" the burgers (they do accept donations), technically they're not doing anything illegal.
By the end of the semester, I had decided what I wanted to do with my life. I realize that it's extremely rare to have your mind made up at 14 years old, but I guess I got lucky!"
What inspires the stories you cover? "I've always been someone who likes to stand out from the pack. I don't want to sound like everyone else on the radio. I didn't want to tell stories the same way as every other journalist, and I don't want my social media feed to blend in with the masses. With that said, I'm mostly drawn to stories that I can have fun with on a creative level. If I'm not having fun covering a story, how can I expect anyone to have fun listening/watching?"
Can you share one of your most memorable things you have covered this year to date?
The story was a blast to put together, and it has well over a million views across the platforms." Amanda Morgan
As a dad, especially two 2 little ones, can you share (2) pieces of advice you have for working dads? "First: If you're working from home and your kid wants to play, do it. You can always make up for lost time at work, but your kids will never be this little again. Second: Whatever you do for work, make your kids proud. That could mean being excellent at your job, having a great attitude, demonstrating a strong work ethic, or having the courage to try something new. It does your kids no good to see you bumming out at a job that you hate."
"I love to go on random adventures around Boston! My kids are both under 4, so everything is new and magical to them. Second, I love to play music with them. It's fun to share one of my passions with them."
What is a goal you have for yourself in the next year? "To continue to experiment To learn from failure, and never get too carried away with success."

Changing The Landscape of Corporate Culture with international speaker & intuitive soul guide, steph palermo A business or team that adopts family values reap less absenteeism, higher productivity, a happier atmosphere and increased profits. Most people like to keep work and personal separate. This is understandable. However, if you create a culture that mirrors a truly caring family, the team members will feel more fulfilled when they are with their work family.
We are so excited to bring Steph back as a contributor this issue spotlighting the importance of changing the landscape of corporate culture! We often hear that the most important and valuable assets of a company are its employees. Without knowing it, team members are free advertisement for a business. Is it positive media? How can a business owner be sure his or her employees are singing the company theme song on their own time? There is nothing better than hearing a friend say, “I love my job. I work for the best company. They really care about me.” There is a way to create an environment where your staff feels important, part of something bigger than themselves, an intricate piece of the puzzle. You do not need fancy personality tests, special consultants from expensive agencies with a handbook of formulas or some elaborate mapped out cookie cutter recipe. You need a family.
A few tips to transform your business or team into a loyal brood include: incorporating dining together, respect, loyalty, spending leisure time together, forgiveness, creating a common purpose or goal, generosity and appropriate love of neighbor every day at the office. Side Note: Becoming a family will not only positively impact your bank account, it will enlarge your heart. Fact: happy people live longer and better. Become a company family. Your wallet and your doctor will. thank you.
Attributes of a healthy, warm, functional family look like this: Everybody has a role (mother, father, daughter, son, cousin, aunt, grandparent, etc.) Nobody wants to steal another’s role. They only step in when a crisis arises. Family members support one another. They help each other. Relatives work together to complete tasks. They know the family goals. Family members love to be together. They look forward to seeing their cousins and siblings. They miss their family when apart. They prepare and eat meals together. They laugh with, confide in and share news with each other at the table. A loyal relative never speaks negatively about the family to anyone. They keep confident family business. Happy relatives tell the world how wonderful their family is. Outsiders are jealous of this amazing family, and long to be part of something so wonderful.
