Who is someone you admire in the hair world and why?

What inspired you to get into the work of hair? Â " I've always been drawn to the Beauty Industry naturally at a young age. My Aunt Viv and Uncle Will recognized my talent and had a serious conversation with me to give it a shot. I finally gave in and one day, I dropped out of college my senior year and signed up for Beauty School.

I was working as a receptionist at James Joseph Salon Newbury St at the time. "

"I am surrounded by many talented artists, but I must say most of whom I admire are my coworkers."

"Natural! There's finally a time that people are starting to embrace one's natural texture, and why not make your routine a little easier by wearing it in its natural state."

Sam Robbins

Who is the fabulous musician who covered our fashion show? Sam Robbins! This up and coming rockstar is NEXTonSCENE to know about.

What inspired you to get into the world of music?

"When I was 16, I found myself losing interest in playing drums, which I thought was going to my career. I was a little lost, and that is when John Mayer's Born and Raised album came out. My parents had bought me Bob Dylan's Autobiography around the same time. As I was reading the autobiography and listening to the album, I decided I had to try and give the music world a shot. Since then, I shifted all of my focus on being a singer /songwriter, and it's led me to here!"

Tell us how you got started?

"I played drums for a long time. I wanted to be a professional punk drummer!! I was in a punk band called The Zambia. From this, I learned a lot of valuable experience, on how to work with people, how to be in a band, and how to build community. My brother played guitar, and I Share with us one of your most slowly picked it up from him. I memorable experiences thus far think a part of me always wanted being so young and performing! to be a singer... and when I was 16 I wrote some songs and "My most memorable show was decided to record them and definitely this November, opening people liked it!" for BJ Thomas at the biggest venue in my hometown of Portsmouth, NH, The Music Hall. Its a 900 seat venue, and me and my band killed it. I was so nervous, but we ended up being a success and I sold a ton of CD's and gained a lot of new fans. It was incredible to play for my hometown at a venue where I had seen so many incredible artists over my whole life."

"My goals have changed and shifted since when I was younger! I think when I was younger, I just wanted to be famous. I wanted to be a celebrity! I wanted to play arenas and sell millions of records! Now obviously, this would still be a nice thing. However, I've really began to appreciate the connections made when I play to smaller groups. I love making personal connections with audiences, and this isn't really achievable at bigger venues. My goal overall is to have an audience that comes to shows, loves my music and are people that I can connect with."

Upon relocation to Boston, Olga has been part of the NEXTonSCENE tribe and community for ALL our fashion shows since our very first one in 2016. We found out all about her background and how she is SO much more then just a beautiful model. She is a restaurant owner and produces big productions!

Tell us what inspired you to become an woman entrepreneur?

"Honestly to say, I never was dreaming or had intentions to become an entrepreneur. My professional career was always consisting of working for companies, corporations and the government. My parents and I never ever were seeing an entrepreneurship potential in my personality. Life gives As a woman who is EVERYWHERE and does us sometimes unexpected surprises that change our whole perception so many things tell us all that you do? about ourselves and our hidden skills.

What do you enjoy in your spare time when you are not working.

"I very rarely have a spare time because managing 3 jobs doesn’t leave me with a lot of free time. But I am lucky to say that all my jobs are something that I love to do and they even don’t feel like a job. When I do have some free time I enjoy spending it for traveling, hanging out with friends, going to theater and sometimes simply by doing nothing."

ashley hayward We had the fabulous opportunity of working with Ashley on multiple projects and we wanted nothing more then to showcase how she got to where she is.

Currently, Ashley is a Web Developer and Media Producer for a company called GraVoc in Peabody, MA. GraVoc has been a thriving technology consultant firm for the last 24 years! There, Ashley manages their web development and design projects, all while doing what she does best: building relationships with clients!

Ashley also assists with video production, including video editing when needed.

Prior to GraVoc, Ashley worked for the City of Everett for nearly four and a half years as the Director of the Everett Community Television and Communications Department.

Needless to say, she has worked her way up to management level by the time she was 24 years old!

Ashley wore many hats in Everett. She ran major city events, handled their social media, video production, and even their graphic and web design. As she discusses how far she has come since a young age, her hope is to grasp your attention! She hopes to inspire you while reading this. Her hope is that you realize no matter what you set your mind to, no matter where you end up (whether it was a job you wanted or not), each stage in life is a lesson, and a step to the next opportunity.

Being the first in her family to ever attend college, Ashley went to Merrimack College, where she obtained ....

exceptional experience interning at iHeart Media, WHDH Channel 7 News Boston and Cambridge Community Television. She then graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2013 with a B.A., in Communications.

When Ashley was 8 years old, she had a head full of dreams, and pictured herself in the hopes that one day she would become a woman working in the TV and radio industry.

While dreaming during that time, she would envision she had her own radio show; “The Ashley Costa Show,” and would record herself on her big black boom box. The result: several cassette tapes she can no longer find, and the realization that dreams can come true. . .

...Then, after moving on from lacrosse, I found working out really hard to fit into a college schedule. I wanted to help other girls who felt the same way, so I turned an episode of my university show, into a little 2-3 minute health and wellness segment. From there, I knew my love for fitness was real. I basically combined my two passions of TV hosting and fitness, and went with it!! Tell us what inspired you to get into the fitness world?

"It was never such an AHA moment as people may think because of who my mom is! But it took steps to get there. I was an athlete my whole life, as I grew up playing tennis and lacrosse, and then went on to get an athletic scholarship for lacrosse to USC. At the time, in college, I wasn't thinking about a career at all because lacrosse pretty much was my career my whole life. After a year and a half at USC, I noticed all of the cool entertainment classes, the hosting gigs, etc., and knew that TV was my passion.

I landed a sports broadcasting role for two years at our university station, and absolutely loved it...

What’s is your TV guilty pleasure?

"This Is Us and I never not cry!"

What is your favorite summer meal!

"My favorite summer meal is..... does it have to be healthy? LOL! My favorite meal is a good burger and fries. With ALL the toppings. But if we're talking healthy, then it's avocado toast with egg whites.

I'm pretty basic! But not in a bad way. I think eating clean should be basic. It should be simple. It should be easy for you. If your meals are too complicated to make, take too much time, then you most likely won't put in the effort to Tell us about your brand new app eating healthy. I'm a good person.

What am I doing wrong?

If any of the above statements sound like they came out of your head you may need a Karma Healing. Karma is the totality of all of the experiences, actions and feelings from this and other lives. Every time you have an experience negative or positive, it collects energy. The more our ego identifies with the feelings, the more energy it has. Keep thinking the same thoughts and you will create that reality.

What I didn’t know at that time was that all of the “rocks” I was collecting were actually HEALING crystals filled with energy….who knew? This was the discovery that lead me to study more deeply into Crystal Energy Healing. Working in the PR world for several years, our founder had the fabulous opportunity to get lalla bee to dress and connect with Daytime Emmy stars/producers. At the end of April , our founder Jaclyn and lalla bee Designer Melina Cortes took a thirtysix hour tour cross-country to Los Angeles! We wanted to summarize this amazing experience meeting and connecting with so many fabulous people. We also want to give a special shout out to Ace Elite Services, Nikki Claudine and Lisa Lew for making our trip so fabulous and welcoming.

Once we headed into the main room, it was filled with so many fabulous foods from vegan, desserts, pizzas and specialty cocktails! I had the fabulous experience interviewing some nominees. Melina, designer of lalla bee, (see picture on the right) dressed the Senior Producer of The Real Daytime Television talk show, Jill Salama! We also got to meet and showcase the fabulous wine sponsors from Emerald Hare, Wardrobe Stylists The night before was filled with lots of of The Bold and Beautiful and the excitement while packaging the nominees behind Storyline Online! beautiful lalla bee gowns. We had the The thirty-six hours we were in Los fabulous opportunity of hanging and Angeles were an experience to planning with the Producers for one of the biggest launch parties for the daytime remember. Sipping on some fabulous wine in Lisa's gorgeous yard of palm trees was an experience to remember. The day of at the Hollywood Museum was an incredible experience. Each room as you can see above (with Melina) was filled with history of Television and Film from what the stars wore, props that were used and so much more! Heading up to the cocktail room, there was an elevator with a bar in it- YES an open elevator where you can sit and have a cocktail, amazing...I know!
