RWS Wound Care Program

Admission and Patient/Family Care Upon admission into our Wound Care Program, our medical team will perform a comprehensive patient assessment to identify medical needs. A treatment plan, following national standards of care protocols based on wound care research, is developed to address nutrition, management of tissue loads, and the possibilities of infection. At Roosevelt Warm Springs, we understand the rehabilitation process affects the entire family, not just the patient. We work to alleviate some of that stress by having an open visitation policy so family members can choose to stay in the patient’s room overnight or visit at their convenience. We believe that families and patients are an integral part of the team, and families are encouraged to remain actively involved in the patient’s treatment plan. Each patient’s treatment program is individualized and modified as progress takes place. Therapists work with the patient for a minimum of three hours per day, which are spread throughout the day to allow for rest breaks. Patients who come to RWS may have conditions that are complex and require daily physician intervention to manage their medical stability. Team members work to create a personalized rehabilitation plan to suit the needs of each patient. We understand each person requires a unique rehabilitation experience. This unique, hands-on approach provides careful medical management and individualized services for patients, enabling them to return to the most independent lifestyle possible.

RWSH is a recipient of the Joint Commission Gold Seal, a clear sign we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. This award recognizes our Wound Care Program as one that maintains high standards of excellence in the areas of patient care, performance outcomes, and national safety criteria.
