Augusta University, founded in 1828, is one of only four public research universities in the state of Georgia and the only one with a nationally recognized academic health center. Jaguar Athletics The Jaguars compete in both NCAA Division I and Division II athletics. As one of the best collegiate golf programs in the nation, both the men’s and women’s golf teams compete at the Division I level. The Division II teams include volleyball, baseball, softball, cross country, basketball, tennis, and track and field.
In the 2014/2015 school year, 11 sports teams reached the NCAA Regionals. Many Jaguar student-athletes earned All-Region, All-Conference and AllAcademic accolades.
