ADAPTIVE RECREATION CLASSES new!

ADAPTIVE GYMNASTICS

This class is available to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Adaptive Gymnastics will allow your loved one to focus on their individual skills which will include a balance beam routine or a floor exercise routine. All gymnast will also master 2 of the 5 following skills: a stuck landing, a tuck, a somersault, a cartwheel or a round-off. This class is a level 1 gymnastics class and will provide an inclusive, encouraging and empowering environment for all athletes to compete, grow and challenge themselves. You must RSVP to guarantee your spot, no exceptions! ADAPTIVE JOB TRAINING

This class will help support the needs of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to become more independent in their lives to be successful in attaining a job with the skills they are taught through this class. In this class we will learn about personal presentation, what we want in a job, what a resume is and what it should look like and how to interview. Each week will be broken down with a different topic to create a more successful and independent environment for our participants to attain their dream job with the skill they have learned through this class. ADAPTIVE LIFE SKILLS

This class will allow your loved on to educate themselves on how to be more independent through daily life skills while retaining and implementing the skills they are being taught. This class will teach and focus on topics such as personal hygiene, money management to living on your own. This 8 week class will focus on a different topic each week that will allow your loved one to be more independent in their day to day lives and future. BEGINNING SIGN LANGUAGE Come learn the basics of American Sign Language! This course will teach basic grammar and Deaf culture lessons as well as lay the foundation of communication in ASL. Subjects such as the alphabet, colors, animals, foods and more will be discussed. This class is designed specifically for persons with special needs. Can’t come every week? Pay as you go. COOKING 101-ADAPTIVE RECREATION In your cooking class, we will provide easy to follow recipes that are fun to make and fast to put together. We will also learn basic kitchen safety tips. How-to instructions will be provided each week to recreate at home. Bring home the skills to be a great chef! The possibilities are endless! This class is specifically designed for persons with special needs. Participants should be able to follow simple directions. HANDMADE CRAFTS Come have fun with your friends while making a new craft each week. Each handmade craft will be a great keepsake item for yourself or to give as a gift. KARAOKE DANCE PARTY Do you love to move and groove when you turn on the tunes? This class will teach simple activity, party, and line dances using some of your favorite music. Favorites will include the Macarena, the Cupid Shuffle, The Cha Cha Slide, and many more popular dances. There will also be time each week to dance your own way to popular tunes. This is an up-tempo, high energy class that will be sure to please all you dance lovers out there! This event is designed specifically for persons with special needs.
