Project Planning Advanced planning for any sampling program is important to its successful completion. Get us involved as early as possible to prevent what are often avoidable mistakes. To help in this process we’ve outlined below several factors to consider for the printing and affixing stages. • Packet Specifications: In addition to written specifications, we will require samples to determine run speeds and affixing tolerances. • Receiving Requirements: All packets must be packed in a carton and all facing in the same orientation and direction. Proper carton labeling is critical to the smooth transfer and tracking of materials. Ask us about our computerized production tracking system that can help with labeling and reporting accuracy. • Publication Specifications: Check with your publication on sample positioning, bleed tolerances, perforation specs and delivery requirements to meet the publication’s bindery schedule. • Affixing tolerances: A high-speed automated process is used to affix packets to most carrier cards. Although the placement is very accurate the positioning involves some variation. Most applications will have a placement tolerance of 1/8" to 3/16", so we request a minimum 1/4" clearance around your target placement area to be sure adjacent copy or critical graphics are un-obscured.
