Esta colección agrupa aquellos textos que alguna vez pasaron por nuestro escritorio y que, a pesar de pertenecer a los más diferentes géneros (paper, ensayo, arte, crítica, pop, antología teórica, fotografía, manifiesto, revista, etc.), nos sirven para reflexionar sobre el urgente lugar de la recepción. Libro-Ojo. Si existe un común denominador para
los libros que integran esta colección resultará inútil buscarlo en el formato, en el color de tapa o en el diseño… Estos textos no hablan necesariamente (al menos directamente) de los medios. It essays the new and the old from the age of ideas. Books by thinkers, essayists, theorists. Writings that imagine what it is to understand the world of people and things. One might even say, works that make the world. Building up the scenes of what’s happened and happening, yet never managing to deal with the immediate reality, with what is most urgent.
Pretende lo nuevo y lo viejo del tiempo de las ideas. Libros de pensadores, de ensayistas, de teóricos. Escrituras que imaginan entender al hombre y las cosas. Podría aventurarse: obras que hacen el mundo. Construyen las escenas de lo que pasó, de lo que pasa, y sin embargo nunca pueden contra la realidad inmediata, contra lo que urge.
Los “Cuadernillos de Géneros” no son meras antologías. Son un trabajo de fragmentación y tramado de esas otras voces. La obra de los pasajes o qué importa quién habla. Pero además esta colección tiene otras obsesiones: el libro, la cultura, el conocimiento. Pasajes, fragmentos, ser hablados por los otros, el conocimiento y los libros. GÉNEROS DISCURSIVOS / ENSAYOS
The “Gender Booklets” are not mere anthologies. They are a labour of fragmentation and weaving together of these other voices. A work of passages and who cares who’s talking. This is the project of a publisher. If accomplishment for an author lies in writing and being published, a publisher feels his work is done when his cultural project has involved the silent creation of a catalogue. Publishing isn’t about publishing books; it’s about keeping on publishing. A catalogue then is also a logbook of the imagination at the service of what other publishers haven’t yet imagined, or have chosen not to GUIDO INDIJ gamble on, a diploma of merit that may mean survival.
Este es el proyecto de un editor. Porque si para un autor la realización está en escribir y ser editado, un editor cumple con su propósito cuando su proyecto cultural ha consistido en la creación silenciosa de un catálogo. Editar no es editar un libro, editar es seguir editando. Un catálogo es, entonces, además de una bitácora de la imaginación al servicio de lo que otros editores aún no han imaginado, o a lo que decidieron no apostar, un diploma al mérito que puede significar la subsistencia.
