In alignment with Indonesia’s role as the host of this year ’ s ASEAN Chairmanship, the Global Indonesia Professionals’ Association (GIPA) organized its second annual Global Human Capital Summit, centered around the theme “Shaping Talents of the Future for a Resilient and Innovative ASEAN.”

Supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, the summit stands as a platform to address the most pertinent concerns within an increasingly digitized workforce, while concurrently nurturing the advancement of Indonesian expertise across the green, health, and technology sectors With an attendance of over 800 global business leaders, government officials, and thought-leaders from Indonesia’s overseas professional hubs, this event cemented its significance as a place for insightful dialogue and collaboration

Held at The Westin hotel, the summit was inaugurated by Mr Hilmi Kartasasmita, GIPA’s Head of Indonesia and Chairman of the 2023 Global Human Capital Summit. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn (Secretary General of ASEAN), Mr Dharsono Hartono (Chairman of KADIN Indonesia Net Zero Hub), and Ambassador Siti Mauludiah (Senior Advisor to the Foreign Minister) graced the event with their welcoming addresses, imparting their insights into the trajectory of Indonesia and ASEAN collective advancement

Structured across four distinct segments, the summit commenced with a panel discussion focused on the growingly popular Green sector, followed by Public Sector and Helath. The summit culminated with an exploration of the Digital & Financial industries through a panelist of esteemed professionals in the industry which includes Shinta Kamdani, Chairwoman of APINDO group

GHC Summit Day 1: Shaping Future Talents for a Resilient and Innovative ASEAN

GIPA also simultaneously hosted a parallel segment within the Denpasar Room of the venue, which fostered a smaller and intimate discussion on specific industry topics ranging from startup culture, global investment trends, and gender disparity within the ASEAN workforce Notably, the ending session titled “Women in Industry: Cultivating and Empowering Future Women Leaders in Industry,” represents a continuation of GIPA’s acclaimed Global Connect Series, which, in June, successfully ignited collaborations and discussions into the importance of cultivating female talent and narrowing the gender divide

In a testament to the summit’s inclusivity and global resonance, the proceedings were also made available to the public via YouTube live streaming.

Following the warm reception of the summit, GIPA is set to engage in further in-depth consultations with senior government officials to offer insights into Indonesia’s Diaspora Strategy in the subsequent day in a conference private from the public.

Following the conclusion of the first day of the Global Human Capital Summit in The Westin, Global Indonesia Professionals’ Association (GIPA) alongside distinguished representatives of Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other senior government officials engaged in a pivotal interaction to further promote the interests of the Indonesian diaspora The dialogue, which centered on harnessing insights from the Indonesian diaspora, hopes to shape key dia policies including the impending assessm RPJMN/RPJPN in 2025
