The Global Indonesia Professionals’ Association (GIPA) is a global secretariat of Indonesian professionals and executives across the G20 and ASEAN countries.

GIPA fosters a global network of Overseas Professional Hubs (OPH) to enhance Indonesia’s economic diplomacy and human capital development. Registered legally in Indonesia, GIPA oversees more than 20 hubs across Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia Pacific These hubs consist of Indonesian professionals governed by their local leadership With over 6,000 registered professionals, GIPA operates in eight primary industry sectors: (i) Financial Services; (ii) Technology; (iii) Professional Services; (iv) Healthcare & Life Sciences; (v) Infrastructure, Energy & Resources; (vi) Creative & Media; (vii) Public Sector & International Organizations; and (viii) Industrials, Products & Logistics
In line with Indonesia's vision to achieve Indonesia Emas 2045, the Indonesian diaspora acts as a secret weapon to enhance the nation's soft power and economic influence Their extensive networks and expertise facilitate international trade, investment, and knowledge exchange, contributing to Indonesia's economic growth and innovation Thereby, GIPA stands as the vessel for these diaspora aspirations to channel their skills, resources, and networks towards national development initiatives which will drive Indonesia Emas 2045 into a reality.

2022 - Strengthening Global Relations
This year marked the first launched of the Global Human Capital Summit, GIPA’s annual flagship event bringing together global leaders and representatives from the ASEAN and G20 countries to accelerate and globalize human capital development and drive innovation across various sectors

THE LAUNCH OF GIPA’S INDONESIA HUB
The first Global Connect series (February 2023) in Jakarta marked the launch of GIPA's Indonesia Hub
The session discussed about the reflections on the Indonesia G20 Presidency and ASEAN Chairmanship 2023, joined by Lintang Paramitrasari (Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Economic Recovery Acceleration Team), and Pandu Sjahrir (Chairman of AFTECH)
WOMEN IN INDUSTRY
The Global Connect Series: Women in Industry (June 2023), discussed about gender equality and inclusive work environments with key topics such as payment gap, company policies, and factors that contribute to women ’ s participation in positions of leadership
This session was joined by Shinta Kamdani (CEO of Sintesa Group), Nina Wirahadikusumah (Business Strategy Director at Microsoft), Gita Sjahrir (the Special Advisor to the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime and Investment Affairs), and Tedi Bharata, (Deputy Minister for Human Capital and ICT at the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises).
GIPA 2023 END-OF-YEAR NETWORKING DINNER
The GIPA 2023 End-of-Year Social Networking Dinner was hosted to welcome returning diasporas and facilitate meaningful connections and insightful discussions The event featured Ani Nigeriawati, Director of Public Diplomacy (MoFA RI), who provided valuable insights on Indonesia's foreign policy outlook and issued a call to action in support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Indonesia Diaspora Roadmap Additionally, a representative from CSIS Indonesia presented the 2024 outlook, offering perspectives on the year ahead.
DEVELOPING INDONESIA FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE AND HEALTHY FUTURE
The Global Connect Series: Developing Indonesia for a More Sustainable and Healthy Future (March 2024), hosted by GIPA and supported by Kemenpora and Bakrie Center Foundation, focuses on Indonesia's strategic positioning for the Paris Olympics 2024 and ESG initiatives.

Through its Center of Excellence for Public Advocacy, GIPA is dedicated to driving change and advocating for the return of Indonesian professionals abroad
Understanding the aspirations and challenges faced by Indonesian doctors and medical students overseas, especially regarding the lengthy process to practice in Indonesia, GIPA has taken the lead in advocating for a more streamlined adaptation process

GIPA is dedicated to supporting Indonesians in going global, serving as a bridge to support Indonesians abroad build a network of communities, connecting the overseas professional hubs.
Overseas Professional Hubs (OPH)
The Overseas Professional Hubs are independent organizations founded and managed by Indonesian professionals residing in their respective countries These hubs operate independently, with full authority over their own communities
GIPA’s OPH Management Team
GIPA’s OPH Team works to identifying potential leaders and connecting with existing leaders of OPH, managing relationships, and ensuring regular communication with the OPH and support the OPH
WAYS OF WORKING
We proactively search for and welcome new leaders to form and broaden professional hubs, expanding the global network and prospects for Indonesian experts worldwide
We aim to support the development of new overseas professional hubs, connect with existing ones to support their objectives, and address inter-division needs to foster collaboration.
We aim to expand overseas professional development, build strong and sustainable relationships with professional hubs, and maintain agile and robust operations to achieve our organizational goals
We use peer referrals and an online platform to screen potential hub leaders, hold quarterly calls with professional hubs across three regions, and conduct monthly internal GIPA meetings

IPA SOUTH KOREA
Working with GIPA has been invaluable, as it serves as a central hub for Indonesian professionals, allowing us to connect with leaders from various countries and gain insights into the development of similar associations worldwide This collaboration has also aided in promoting our events on Instagram during our early stages. Moving forward, we hope GIPA continues to offer a platform for professional development and facilitates a global chat room for Indonesian professionals to share job information and connect across borders
Currently, IPA Korea focuses on building networks between professionals and/or students within Korea We believe that our goals align with the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision in the following ways: 1) Human development and the master of science and technology - around 60% of Indonesian professionals in Korea work in the science and technology industries, 2) Sustainable economic development - some of our members here are involved in the investments of industries/corporations in Indonesia which drives sustainable economic development in the country, 3) Equitable development - with experiences of working abroad we believe we can contribute to equitable tangible or intangible developments in Indonesia, 4) Strengthening national resilience and governance - with the human talent we possess, we aim to contribute to strengthening national resilience and governance

GIPA’s platform has been instrumental in fostering innovation, bridging continents with ideas, and driving progress As we look ahead, we envision GIPA as a catalyst for even deeper collaboration, connection and consolidation of all Indonesian professionals worldwide by creating reachable events online or offline

This whitepaper was disseminated at the GIPA’s Global General Assembly, attended by government officials including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Investment (BKPM), the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), and the Ministry of Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs (Kemenkomarves) Objective and summary of the event:
Foster partnerships between GIPA and the government to support the Indonesia Emas 2045 mission through promoting the interests of Indonesian diaspora and advancing Indonesia's human capital

This year ’ s Global Human Capital Summit aims to convene thought leaders & stakeholders to accelerate and globalize human capital development in Indonesia As we approach “Indonesia Emas 2045”, GIPA hopes that GHC Summit 2024 will act as a pivotal instrument that helps accelerate Indonesia's economic and human capital trajectory and builds a network of future talents for a stronger Indonesian presence overseas.

Shaping talents of the future for a resilient and innovative ASEAN
In alignment with Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2023, GIPA organized its second annual GHC Summit themed ‘Shaping talents of the future for a resilient and innovative ASEAN,’ supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council The summit addressed the increase of digitized workforce and advanced expertise in green, health, and technology sectors in the context of Indonesia in ASEAN.
