Summer 2019
#FeelsLikeaGirlScoutSummer
The Girl Scout Law I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
The Girl Scout Promise On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Our Mission
Dear Girl Scouts, Growing up in Maine provided me with the opportunity to climb trees, hike trails, swim in lakes and learn about different plants and animals. As an adult, I recognize the benefits of that time spent outdoors. We know that access to outdoor spaces is a little more complicated in NYC. As the only Girl Scout Council serving a 100% urban population, we feel a special responsibility to increase access to outdoor activities. Each time I visit one of our Urban Day Camp programs or our beautiful Camp Kaufmann property, I see girls taking healthy risks, problem solving, gaining important life skills and further developing their own leadership identity. Regardless of your experience level, we have a ton of options for enjoying the outdoors this summer. I hope to see you out on the trail! Yours in Scouting,
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
