We hope the Girlstart girl(s) in your life have had fun exploring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) this year. We consider it an honor to be able to bring more STEM to more girls across Texas, but we’ll admit: it’s fun too. In the fall, girls explored engineering design challenges through manufacturing, forensics, electricity, circuitry, mechanics, acoustics, aerospace, and aeronautics. And in the spring, girls worked in earth and environmental science and engineering, discovering geology, seismology, paleontology, energy, and the oceans. Each semester, we also take time for the girls to set goals for their aspirations in middle and high school, college, career, and family. Esperamos que sus niñas se hayan divertido en Girlstart explorando ciencias, tecnología, ingeniería, y matemáticas (STEM, por sus siglas en inglés) este año. Es un honor para nosotros poder traer más STEM a más niñas en Texas, y lo admitimos: también es divertido. En el otoño, las niñas exploraron retos de diseño de ingeniería a través de la fabricación, forense, electricidad, circuitos, mecánica, acústica, aeroespacial, y aeronáutica. Y en la primavera, las niñas trabajaron en ciencias naturales y del medio ambiente, descubriendo geología, sismología, paleontología, energía, y los océanos. Cada semestre, también nos tomamos el tiempo de hablar con las niñas acerca de establecer metas para sus aspiraciones en la secundaria, preparatoria, carrera, y familia.
