SPECIAL
Girlstart’s mission is to empower girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The world’s greatest challenges need new STEM ideas and insights. Half of the world’s potential ideamakers—women and girls—are discouraged from developing their ideas because of social bias or inequity. More girls with more ideas create more solutions.
Girlstart’s mission is to solve this.

TEXAS PIONEER FOUNDATION
Girlstart cultivates a culture where risk is rewarded, curiosity is encouraged, and creativity is expected. As a result, Girlstart girls are connected, brave, and resilient. Girlstart makes girls more successful, and inspires them to take on the world’s greatest challenges. We are honored that our programs have received national recognition. In particular, we are proud that Girlstart Summer Camp was recently identified by Change the Equation as one of only four “exemplary” and “highly scalable” STEM education programs in America.

Help Percy, Annabeth and Grover adventure through the mythological world. Girls will create a rocket to help Hermes fly, engineer a boat to cross the River of Hades, discover the stories behind the stars in our Mini Planetarium and more. All mortals and demigods welcome!
Check, check, 1, 2, 1, 2! Discover the science behind music at Girlstart’s sound studio. Girls will design an instrument from recycled materials, make and play a floor piano, create a virtual 3D stage and program an app to make music.
