IMPRESSIVE TEST RESULTS FOR ODL EUROPE’S AWARD-WINNING GUARDSMAN FIRE DOOR
ODL Europe has completed another round of testing on its Guardsman FD30 Fire Door from the UKAS Accredited Fixed Scope test to BS EN 16341, which covers fire resistance and smoke control for doors. The results are remarkable with the door exceeding a 60-minute burn time, impressive for an FD30 fire door.
Bryan Bultema, ODL Europe’s Managing Director, said: “Clearly, the burn times demonstrate superior performance with exceptional overburn. We’re delighted.”
BS EN 1634-1 is the more demanding test standard required by Part B of the building regulations and the tests were comprehensive.
They covered various glazed and unglazed doorsets, further expanding the range of construction methods and glazing options that can be used with the Guardsman Fire Door to achieve a certified 30-minute fire door set.
Bryan commented: “We wanted the Guardsman to deliver on performance without compromising on style. By testing various construction options, we can give customers, contractors and specifiers more design choice.”
They also covered all three parts of the test standard, giving complete peace of mind when it comes to the rigour of the testing. Part 1 covers fire resistance tests for fire doors. Part 2 covers fire resistance and smoke control tests for hardware. Part 3 covers fire resistance tests for smoke control doors.
The award-winning Guardsman Fire Door is the result of a two-year, six figure development by ODL Europe in conjunction with Capstone Engineering. It’s constructed using Agrifiber, which is stronger and more stable than the phenolic foam used in most other composite fire in a new comprehensive inspiration gallery – while brochure images are great, there’s nothing better than real images of installed doors to get a real idea of how different colours and styles work in situ against different property types.”
Central to the new website is the popular door designer tool which allows homeowners to easily design a door and share it with family and friends, or more importantly the installer if they have directed them to the website.
Alternatively, if the homeowner has found the website through web browser searches, Vista will then put them in touch with one of its recommended installation companies who are in all corners of the UK.
Additionally, the website houses useful videos as well as content from Vista’s in-house social media influencer which explores current door trends.
Ian concludes: “Ultimately, the relaunched XtremeDoor website has been designed as an additional sales tool for our network of customers.
“We have been building on the XtremeDoor brand for the last 10 years, and are now seeing the fruits of that labour. With the website revamp, we’re both celebrating this, and further helping our valued customers feel they are buying into the brand while fully understanding and appreciating the door’s key elements of style, security and thermal efficiency.
“At Vista, we’re committed to keeping XtremeDoor at the forefront of the composite door market. The new website has been a very worthwhile investment, helping us to continually provide the very best for homeowners.” www.xtremedoor.co.uk
