CDW SYSTEMS HELPS TOTAL ALUMINIUM SYSTEMS WITH BIG SCHOOL WINDOW PROJECT
Leading aluminium fabricator CDW Systems helped long standing customer Total Aluminium Systems with a school project that required more than 200 windows.
The Taunton-based installer and fabricator needed 207 windows for a refurbishment project at Wadham School in Crewkerne, Somerset.
With additional students and staff joining the school at the beginning of the academic year last September, the school decided on the programme to replace its windows, with Total Aluminium carrying out the installation while making sure they caused minimum disruption to students learning.
Total Aluminium Systems has worked with CDW Systems for more than five years and buy windows, doors, bifolds, and commercial and residential doors – and for this project they chose Technal Dualframe windows.
Daniel Sparks, Total Aluminium Systems’ Director said: “We needed a durable, high use window for the Wadham refurbishment project and Dualframe was the perfect window solution.
“The team at CDW were very helpful with advice and support on what window profile to use to suit all our needs, with Dualframe being easy to fabricate and install. We had six months to complete the project and we had around 10 deliveries split into phases over three blocks, which CDW were a great help with.”
The family run company, which operates mainly in the South West, has more than 25 years’ experience and predominantly works on commercial projects, carrying out installations for both new build and refurbishment projects.
And, according to Daniel, CDW Systems has proved the perfect manufacturer and supplier: “The relationship is good for us due to the reliability of CDW and their ability to supply larger quantities with decent lead times. We are a more compact fabricator and installer, so it works well.”
Jeremy Phillips, CDW Systems’ Group Chairman, said: “Technal Dualframe windows were a reliable, cost effective, robust solution and Total Aluminium have done a fantastic job on Wadham School.
“We have always been committed to being far more than a trade supplier; like all our customers, Total Aluminium are valued partners and we were delighted to supply them with both top quality products and the support they needed.”
Established in 1992, the Gloucester-based CDW Systems is one of the UK’s longest running aluminium specialists in the trade supply of aluminium window, door, and curtain wall products and celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. The Slough-based manufacturer is offering the VS600 vertical sliding sash window from Smart Systems, a modern solution that creates a temporary look for any property.
Director AJ Hassanali comments: “Our customers have been asking for vertical sliding sash windows, and having worked with Smart for many years, we knew their offering would be the best on the market.”
Ideal for use in heritage and conservation areas, the VS600 offers ease of operation and outstanding natural ventilation. Offering a flush opening with no projection into or out of a property, the window is also often used in schools and hospitals.
The system features low line glazing gaskets that will accept 28mm sealed units, achieves a U-value of 1.6, and also features a concealed drainage and concealed coupling option.
As well as the vertical sliding sash, VS600 also features a ‘tilt in’ operation that facilitates the cleaning of the external glass.
Assembly of VS600 is optimised through a square cut outer frame and sash joints which require minimal machining aiding fabrication.
AJ continues: “The VS600 adds to our already vast range of Smart aluminium products, including the Heritage and AluSpace ranges, and is the ideal product to help our trade customers offer the best on the market to the end user.
“We have always had a great working relationship with Smart, and thanks to their premium and high-quality products, we’ve received good feedback from our valued customers, which is something we pride ourselves on. This addition to our product portfolio has certainly been worthwhile, and we look forward to continuing to deliver the excellent products and service our customers are used to.”
