“There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” - Proverbs 20:15 On October 19th four American young people traveled around the world to Old Burma with GLBM’s Founder/Director, Dr. Bob DeWitt. Team members were: Morgan Woods of WV (her 2nd trip in 2017); Andrew Minnick of Louisville, KY; Hope Kimber and Benjamin Williams of NY. Traveling across the country with “BaGyi Bob” for one month, they preached the Gospel, encouraging our preachers, students, orphans, and churches. Souls were saved and GLBM purchased and supplied the churches with Burmese Bibles, rice, clothing, eye glasses, vehicle tires, guitars, kitchen utensils, and shoes. Special offerings were given to very grateful pastors for rent, a boy’s dorm, and various ministry expenses.
The Island of Bilu Kyun is now accessible and we visited folks in homes and businesses, distributing Scriptures and tracts. We want to establish a church here.

Most of the churches visited are young and need their own properties on which to build. They currently rent houses and a growing number of townships are making ordinances against “home churches,” insisting that congregations be registered with the government. Properties suitable for building a church range widely from $5000 to $30,000. Even though there remains a nervousness among church leaders, and limited persecution in some places, most of our preachers have good relationships with community leaders and a growing number of souls are coming to Christ. We believe this is a direct answer to your continuing and faithful prayer and financial support.

Returning home, it was evident that all of us were coming under Satanic attack in very real ways. But God has given us the victory through the Christ’s blood and His finished work on the Cross. There is much to tell about this amazing trip. It has been said that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” We will try to show the many wonderful things God did through some of our photos. The Aung Lan Baptist Church called for the ordination of their pastor, “Htein Win Ei.” The following day we walked through the community to the river, greeting everyone, and baptized many before all. Amen!
