Mon Tribe Pastor Peter Judson, or “Kyaw Kyaw Aung” as he is known to his people, is enjoying a great harvest of souls in the fourth largest city of Myanmar. Malawmyine is located on the Andaman Sea, in the southern part of Myanmar. His new church plant is seeing souls saved, not weekly, but almost everyday. They are praying for a new keyboard for their church services. All of their children play the piano and this is greatly used in their services. Also, they need a personal vehicle very much. But their greatest need is for property. Peter has located several properties that would be good to build on. The price for each one is approximately $25,000. Time is of the essence as prices keep going up because of the many investors now coming into their newly opened country. Falam Chin Tribe Pastor, “Steven,” or Lal Ram Hngak, has started the Grace Baptist Church, a mission sent out under the authority of the Bethany Baptist Church where Thaung Lian is Pastor. His family Thaung Lian, Pastor Steven, with BaGyi Bob and young church have had to move once already because of the need for space. Village people are curious, hungry to know more about the Saviour, and the church is growing. They have been well-received in the community and Steven is working with township officials to keep a good testimony and the open door for the Gospel. Palatwa Chin tribe preacher “A Lin” and his church are facing some persecution because their landlord wants them off the property that they have inhabited for several years. This landlord is erecting a Buddhist shrine in the front yard of this property, hoping this will drive our people out. This young congregation, as well as the many orphans in their care, will soon have no place to go. They need their own property on which to build. They could purchase their own land and put up a building in which to live and worship for approximately $15,000. Please pray for these faithful servants. Peter Van Siang Lian, from the Falam Chin tribe, is a graduate of the Berean Baptist Bible College in Bangalore, India. One of his professors told me that Peter is a strong fundamental, Bible-believing Baptist. By faith he and his wife have gone to the village of Kanan, in Northern Myanmar’s Sagaing Division, started a church, and is winning people to Christ. We visited him in January. There was a great spirit among his people but two things really impressed us: he has many men in his young congregation, but one man was a Buddhist monk for many years and is now preaching the Gospel. Also, his young congregation is erecting a church building on their own site by faith. But, of course, they still need help! Peter and his young congregation desire to partner with us and become part of the GLBM family. We have decided to step out by faith ourselves and begin supporting Peter at $50.00 per month. Surely he needs more. If you desire to invest in souls through Peter’s ministry, please contact us. Joel Mynit Aung is a preacher trained by Thaung Lian and sent out by Thaung’s church. He has started a good ministry in the Ayeyarwaddy Division of Southern Myanmar. We visited them in January and met his people. We give him a small amount monthly but are hoping to help him more in the future and believe he is doing a good work for God. Would you like to help also? Later this month Pastor Wilson Babu Billa will arrive from India where he is training preacher boys, including many from Myanmar.
