God Answers Prayer
Your Help Has Enabled Us
During my last trip to Thailand in August, I had in the back of my mind a property I had seen last December, two miles from the Myanmar border. It includes seven residences, boys and girls dorms, a two-story school and office building, recording studios, housing for all of our orphans, two separate dining facilities, a working mango orchard, corn fields, multiple fish ponds, four missionary apartments, room for our Bible institute and coming Bible college, and a church building that will seat 1,000 Burmese. Even though the asking price was $12 million US dollars— something that was financially impossible for GLBM even with the help of all our many friends and acquaintances—we asked God to give it to us. I was in love at first sight, and I knew that this was the property that we needed to reach Myanmar for Christ. At about 12:30 a.m. US Eastern Time on August 31 (while thousands of people around the world were praying), the owner of the property agreed to rent us the property with an option to buy. We will pay $5 thousand dollars per month with every penny going towards the purchase price. Also, the purchase price is no longer $12 million dollars, and we believe that God is going to do another miracle before we move in on March 1, 2014. We will open the Golden Land Baptist Bible College and train men and women sent to us from our churches within Myanmar as well as from surrounding Golden Land countries and even America. Can you imagine an American Bible college student whom God has called to the mission field, training to become a missionary on the mission field, working with missionaries, and learning to work with new people groups, all at the same time? My first call from Thailand was to my pastor, Bro. Richard Hack. My second call was to Dr. Charles Keen—founder of both Bearing Precious Seed (Milford, Ohio) and First Bible International—who became so excited that he said, “I’m coming to see this for myself!” and, “I’ll help you all I can.” We need much help. Since the time you started supporting our national pastors, God has led them far. Many of us have passed many challenges in the ministry and in our families. Please continue to pray for us that we may continue to carry the Gospel to the Burmese who are lost in sin and darkness. Our discipleship training is still going well. Many are ready to surrender their life to the Lord for the full-time preaching of the Gospel. Due to a lack of food resulting from high prices and war in some parts of Burma, most of the days many brethren go to sleep hungry! Yet, they take no thought for their life, or what they shall eat, or what they shall drink, or for the body what they shall wear because we have faith in God that He can provide our needs by seeking His kingdom and His righteousness first. That is true even today. Our preachers were so happy to know that you are standing behind them and holding the rope for them. They could survive with the help that you have extended for them. Since you have been used by the Lord mightily to meet our financial needs, we are more effective in the presentation of the Gospel. Dr. Miller Joins GLBM Dr. Joe Miller is the founder and president of Lighthouse Publications and his 50-plus Gospel tracts are used in all 50 states and 126 countries. Already donating his time, staff, and tracts to GLBM, Dr. Miller surrendered to the call of God and joined our staff as Assistant Director. He traveled to Thailand in August 2013 with Bob Dewitt. Their purpose was to scope out a place to receive shipments of Burmese Scriptures; print our own GLBM discipleship manuals and literature; and distribute it across the river into Myanmar for our pastors, churches, and schools.
