Redefining Eco-Tourism Beyond 2025
Dear Readers,
As 2024 comes to a close, we find ourselves at a turning point — a moment of transformation, where industries are pushing boundaries and leaders are redefining what’s possible. This November/ December issue of Global Citizen celebrates those who are paving the way forward with both purpose and vision.
Our cover story on Sam Altman captures his drive to redefine AI with an ethical focus. Altman’s work reveals the possibilities when technology serves humanity, not the other way around. In Features, we spotlight Fahad Al Gergawi of Dubai FDI, who is positioning Dubai as a magnet for global innovation, and Leah Cotterill of Cigna Healthcare Middle East and Africa, whose vision for accessible, patient-centred healthcare is reshaping the industry.
Our Horology section highlights timepieces blending heritage with innovation, while Automotive explores the dawn of luxury electric cars, capturing how brands like Rolls-Royce are evolving to meet today’s ideals.
As the season invites us to reflect, we hope this issue inspires not only discovery but also responsibility. At Global Citizen, we’re committed to exploring the future of luxury with a purpose — one that respects the world and reimagines what it means to lead.
Enjoy the read,

From his entrepreneurial roots to his commitment to ethical AI, Sam Altman is a tech titan with a rare blend of ambition and empathy, guiding us towards a future where technology serves humanity.
In the fast-paced world of technology, few names carry as much weight—or promise—as Sam Altman. At the helm of OpenAI, Altman is both a visionary and a pragmatist, a leader who approaches the development of artificial intelligence with as much caution as ambition.
He has emerged as one of Silicon Valley’s most compelling figures, someone who refuses to shy away from difficult questions, choosing instead to dive headfirst into them.
From his early years as a young entrepreneur to his current role as CEO of OpenAI, Altman’s journey is marked by a commitment to not just advancing technology, but also ensuring it benefits society at large.
“The future of AI has to be built with as much thought about safety as about capability,” he has said, summarising a philosophy that seems rare in the world of hyper-accelerated tech.
For Altman, creating tools like ChatGPT isn’t just about innovation—it’s about responsibility, and he’s not afraid to remind the world of the power, and potential peril, of the tools he’s helping to build.
The Early Days: A Prodigy in the Making Altman grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and showed signs of intellectual curiosity and drive from a young age. He learned to program at just eight years old, and his fascination with technology only deepened from there.
After a brief stint at Stanford University, where he studied computer science, he dropped out—a rite of passage for many Silicon Valley giants—to focus on his entrepreneurial ambitions.
He co-founded Loopt, a location-based social networking app, in 2005 when he was just 19. Though Loopt didn’t ultimately achieve commercial success, it laid the foundation for Altman’s career in tech and cemented his reputation as a young innovator willing to take risks.
Altman’s early experience with Loopt wasn’t just a crash course in business; it taught him resilience and the importance of thinking big. In a reflection on those early days, he has said, “Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
His persistence paid off when he joined Y Combinator, the legendary startup accelerator, first as a partner and later as president.
Under his leadership, Y Combinator expanded its focus and became one of the most influential institutions in Silicon Valley, helping launch billion-dollar companies like Airbnb, Dropbox, and Reddit.
Altman transformed Y Combinator into a powerhouse that not only fostered innovation but also championed long-term, sustainable growth for its portfolio companies.
In 2019, Altman took on his most ambitious project yet as the CEO of OpenAI, a research institute he cofounded in 2015 alongside Elon Musk and other tech luminaries. OpenAI’s mission was audacious: to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity. Altman’s role in OpenAI is a testament to his belief in AI as a force for good, but one that needs careful stewardship.
“The impact of artificial intelligence on our lives will be profound,” he’s noted, “but we have to make sure it’s used in ways that are safe and beneficial to society.”
Under Altman’s guidance, OpenAI has launched some of the most advanced AI models to date, including GPT-3, ChatGPT, and DALL-E, which have not only transformed industries but also sparked debates on the ethical and societal implications of AI.
Altman has been vocal about the importance of regulation, arguing that AI needs both rapid development and robust oversight. In a recent interview, he cautioned, “We should be as worried about the risks as we are excited about the possibilities.”
This commitment to ethical boundaries is rare in an industry often criticised for its “move fast and break things” mentality. Altman’s leadership at OpenAI isn’t without challenges.
He has openly discussed the ethical dilemmas that come with creating AI systems that could one day surpass human intelligence. “There’s no playbook for AGI,” he admitted, “but the best we can do is build it thoughtfully, with the right checks in place.” He is a proponent of transparent AI, advocating for models that allow humans to understand and interpret the technology’s decisions.
Beyond Tech: A Commitment to Philanthropy
Altman’s vision extends beyond technology; he’s also deeply invested in philanthropy. He’s part of a new wave of tech leaders who believe in using their wealth for the greater good. “It’s not enough to make money,” he’s said. “You have to do something meaningful with it.”
Altman has been a vocal supporter of universal basic income (UBI), arguing that the wealth generated by AI and automation could one day fund programs that guarantee a basic income for all.In a pilot project in Oakland, California, he committed $10 million of his own money to explore how UBI could benefit lowincome communities.
His interest in UBI stems from a belief that AI will change the nature of work and that society needs to be prepared for a world where traditional jobs may become less common. “It’s about giving people a safety net so they can take risks,” he has explained, underscoring his belief in a future where creativity, rather than necessity, drives human endeavour.
Altman has also invested in various initiatives aimed at addressing global issues, from climate change to healthcare.
He’s part of the Founders Pledge, an organisation that encourages entrepreneurs to commit a portion of their wealth to charity, and he’s invested in cutting-edge research aimed at extending human lifespan. Altman’s philanthropic ventures reflect a worldview that is both optimistic and grounded—he envisions a future where technology and humanity are in harmony, not opposition.
For Altman, leadership in AI is not just about innovation but about navigating complex ethical waters with integrity. “People think tech leaders are just driven by profit,” he once said, “but the best ones are driven by purpose.” Altman’s purpose is clear: to create a world where AI serves humanity’s highest ideals, not just its bottom line.
This guiding philosophy has earned him both admirers and critics, but Altman remains unfazed. He has often said he sees OpenAI as a public trust, and he’s committed to keeping the organisation’s mission aligned with the public good. “My goal isn’t to be remembered as the person who created the most advanced AI,” he has said.
“I want to be remembered as someone who used technology to make the world a better place.”Altman’s insights into AI and ethics are informed by his personal values, which have been shaped as much by his successes as by his setbacks.
He’s refreshingly honest about the pressure and responsibility that come with his role, admitting that the path forward is uncertain but worth pursuing.
“The future is something we build together,” he once remarked. “And we need to think long and hard about what kind of world we want to create.”
Sam Altman is more than a CEO; he’s a visionary with a conscience, a rare breed of tech leader who believes that profit and purpose aren’t mutually exclusive. His journey from teenage programmer to one of the most influential figures in AI is a testament to his resilience, intelligence, and unyielding commitment to the greater good.
As we stand on the brink of a new era defined by artificial intelligence, Altman’s role in shaping that future cannot be overstated. He is guiding us toward a world where technology doesn’t just automate tasks but augments our humanity. In his own words, “AI is a mirror, reflecting back the best and worst of us. It’s up to us to decide which side we want to see.”
As CEO of Dubai FDI, Fahad Al Gergawi is driving the emirate’s transformation into a global hub for tech and luxury industries through strategic foreign investment.
Dubai’s transformation from a regional trading post into a global business hub is no accident. The city’s rise has been fuelled by strategic investments, smart policies, and visionary leadership. At the helm of Dubai Investment Development Agency (Dubai FDI) is Fahad Al Gergawi, a man whose leadership has played a pivotal role in positioning Dubai as a destination for global investors, particularly in the tech and luxury sectors.
As the world rapidly evolves, so too does Dubai’s approach to attracting foreign investment. Al Gergawi’s leadership has shaped Dubai’s appeal as a city where innovation thrives and opportunity abounds. His focus on industries that define the future—such as technology, luxury goods, and sustainability—has made the emirate a global magnet for businesses seeking growth in a dynamic and business-friendly environment.
Dubai’s success as a global business hub can be attributed to several key factors, including its progressive regulatory framework, worldclass infrastructure, and strategic geographic location. Under Al Gergawi’s stewardship, Dubai FDI has capitalised on these strengths, creating an environment that attracts foreign businesses eager to tap into the opportunities the city offers. Al Gergawi’s vision is centred on ensuring that Dubai continues to evolve and adapt to the changing global economy. His efforts have focused on making Dubai not just a destination for investment, but a place where businesses can thrive long-term. This approach has helped build confidence among foreign investors, who view Dubai as a secure and rewarding market with tremendous growth potential.
Dubai has long been known for its luxury lifestyle and towering skyscrapers, but in recent years, its growing tech sector has solidified its global relevance. Under Al Gergawi’s leadership, Dubai FDI has aggressively pursued investments from tech giants and startups alike, positioning the city as a key hub for technological innovation in the Middle East. Dubai has attracted major players such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft, both of which have established regional data centres, enhancing the city’s digital infrastructure. Moreover, the Dubai Blockchain Strategy aims to make Dubai the first city in the world to conduct all government transactions via blockchain by 2030. These efforts demonstrate Dubai’s commitment to being at the forefront of technological advancement. The emphasis on technology goes beyond attracting investment—it’s about creating a foundation for long-term growth and innovation. Through initiatives like the Dubai Future Accelerators programme, the city has fostered collaboration between startups, investors, and government entities, helping to shape the future of tech-driven industries. This focus on tech has not only boosted Dubai’s economy but has also established the emirate as a global player in digital innovation.
While technology is driving much of Dubai’s growth, the emirate’s luxury sector remains a key pillar of its global identity. Dubai has long been a destination for affluent consumers, with its luxury malls, high-end real estate, and thriving fashion market. Al Gergawi’s leadership at Dubai FDI has helped strengthen this position by attracting global luxury brands eager to tap into Dubai’s status as a hub for high-net-worth individuals.
The city’s appeal to luxury brands is undeniable. Companies like LVMH, Hermès, and Ferrari have all expanded their presence in Dubai, recognising it as both a gateway to the Middle Eastern market and a global hub for affluent consumers. Dubai’s luxury real estate market has also continued to grow, with iconic developments like the Palm Jumeirah and ultra-luxurious residential projects drawing investors from around the world. The luxury sector in Dubai is about more than just consumer goods; it also encompasses high-end services and real estate. From five-star hotels to exclusive residential properties, Dubai offers a lifestyle that caters to the world’s wealthiest. This blend of commerce and luxury has cemented Dubai’s reputation as a destination for those seeking both investment opportunities and a luxurious lifestyle.
A key element of Al Gergawi’s strategy at Dubai FDI has been fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors. Dubai’s investment-friendly regulatory framework and streamlined processes have made it easier for foreign investors to establish a presence in the emirate. Through initiatives like the Dubai Future Foundation and the World Government Summit, Dubai has positioned itself as a platform for dialogue and cooperation between businesses, governments, and investors. This collaborative approach has resulted in significant partnerships, such as the Dubai Future Accelerators programme, which connects innovative startups with government entities to develop cutting-edge solutions for the city. It has also led to international forums that highlight Dubai’s role as a leader in global governance, technology, and business. By creating a conducive environment for business and fostering meaningful partnerships, Dubai FDI has helped ensure that the emirate remains a top destination for foreign investment. The agency’s efforts have attracted companies and investors from around the world, contributing to Dubai’s ongoing success as a global business hub.
Looking ahead, Al Gergawi and Dubai FDI are focused on ensuring that the emirate stays ahead of the curve in emerging industries. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, Dubai is exploring investment opportunities in sectors such as green energy, biotech, and space exploration. These industries will define the next wave of global economic growth, and Dubai is positioning itself as a key player in these fields. Dubai’s diverse economy is one of its greatest strengths, and Al Gergawi is committed to ensuring that it remains resilient in the face of global challenges. By embracing future industries and focusing on long-term sustainability, Dubai is building an economy that is both adaptable and forward-thinking.
Under Fahad Al Gergawi’s leadership, Dubai has not only become a beacon for foreign investment but also a model for cities around the world aiming to attract global capital while staying ahead of emerging trends. Through strategic initiatives that merge technology, luxury, and sustainability, Dubai is charting a path that other global cities are likely to follow. As Dubai continues to evolve, Al Gergawi’s leadership at Dubai FDI remains focused on ensuring that the city’s vision becomes a reality. By attracting the world’s most innovative companies and fostering an environment of collaboration and growth, Dubai is set to maintain its status as a leading global business hub for years to come.
A reflection on Ghada Owais’s career, her commitment to humanitarian reporting, and the evolving media landscape in the Middle East.
Ghada Owais has earned her place as a leading figure in Middle Eastern journalism through her dedication to uncovering important stories and giving a voice to those who often go unheard. Known for her extensive work with Al Jazeera, Owais has navigated some of the most challenging topics in the region, bringing critical issues to light with clarity, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility. Her career goes beyond reporting the news—it is deeply tied to humanitarian causes, with a focus on highlighting the stories of individuals affected by regional challenges, displacement, and social upheaval.
Owais’s journey in journalism has taken her across the Middle East, where she has often reported on issues impacting people on a personal and societal level. With a belief that journalism should inspire change, her work often explores the human side of the stories she covers, emphasising the importance of empathy and action.
Born and raised in Lebanon, Ghada Owais began her career reporting on critical social and political developments in her home country. Over the years, her work has expanded across the region, from Lebanon to Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and beyond. Through her investigative work, Owais has consistently focused on giving a platform to those whose stories are often overlooked, particularly in times of unrest.
Owais has expressed in interviews that her mission as a journalist is not just to report on events, but to shed light on their human impact. In an interview with L’Orient-Le Jour, Owais reflected on her role: “I cover the people who don’t have the ability to express their pain. As journalists, it’s our duty to show the human side of the news.” This philosophy has shaped her reporting and ensured that her work remains centred on compassion and advocacy.Throughout her career, Owais has consistently highlighted the experiences of individuals and communities affected by displacement, inequality, and social challenges. By focusing on these human elements, she has helped bridge the gap between large-scale regional developments and their effects on everyday people.
Beyond reporting, Owais has been deeply involved in humanitarian work, using her platform to raise awareness and inspire action. Her reporting on refugee communities, displaced families, and those affected by social instability has drawn attention to pressing humanitarian needs across the Middle East.
Through her coverage, Owais has worked to ensure that the voices of those affected by these challenges are heard by a global audience. Owais’s career has spanned a period of profound change in the media landscape of the Middle East. The rise of social media, the development of independent journalism, and the increasing role of digital platforms have reshaped how news is reported and consumed across the region. Owais has remained at the forefront of these changes, navigating the challenges of misinformation and censorship while maintaining her commitment to factual, responsible reporting.
One of the most significant shifts in recent years has been the role of social media in shaping public discourse and influencing political movements. During the Arab Spring, social media became a powerful tool for organising protests and spreading information. Owais was there to cover these movements, balancing the rapid dissemination of news with the need for accuracy and context. “The role of a journalist is to seek the truth, even when the truth is difficult to find,” Owais shared during an interview with The National. She has been a vocal advocate for media literacy, encouraging audiences to critically evaluate the information they consume in a digital age where misinformation can easily spread.
While acknowledging the opportunities digital platforms provide, Owais remains focused on the importance of thorough investigative journalism as the backbone of trustworthy media. Her work has consistently highlighted the need for independent journalism in a time of rapid media evolution. Through her involvement with Al Jazeera, Owais has contributed to a broader effort to hold power accountable, while ensuring that complex regional issues are covered with nuance and integrity.
Ghada Owais’s career has been defined by her commitment to telling stories that matter. Whether reporting from challenging environments or advocating for those affected by regional issues, Owais has consistently used her platform to highlight the importance of empathy, truth, and advocacy in journalism. Her ability to connect the global audience with the realities faced by people on the ground has earned her respect as both a journalist and a humanitarian. Her work continues to inspire the next generation of journalists, particularly in the Middle East, where independent voices play an increasingly critical role in shaping public understanding. Owais’s dedication to ethical reporting and her focus on the human stories behind the headlines ensure that her legacy will endure. In a media landscape that is constantly evolving, Ghada Owais stands out as a reminder of the power of journalism to inform, inspire, and drive meaningful change. As the region continues to experience transformation, her work will remain a beacon of integrity and courage, bringing attention to the stories that need to be told.
The CEO of Cigna Healthcare Middle East and Africa (Outside KSA) shares her vision for accessible healthcare, innovation, and empowering women in leadership.
Leah Cotterill is at the helm of transformation within the healthcare industry. As CEO of Cigna Healthcare Middle East and Africa (Outside KSA), she is guiding her team through strategic advancements in technology and patient care, with an unyielding commitment to inclusivity and health equity.
Leah’s leadership journey not only highlights her forward-thinking approach to healthcare but also underscores her dedication to supporting women in traditionally male-dominated spaces. In this interview with Global Citizen Magazine, Leah reveals her goals for healthcare innovation, her approach to leadership, and her vision for the future.
What are the current strategic priorities for Cigna Healthcare under your leadership?
Being named CEO has been a privilege, especially as the first woman to lead an international health insurer in the UAE. Cigna Healthcare’s focus is on making health insurance more accessible and efficient. We’re establishing ourselves as a one-stop health partner in the Middle East and Africa, expanding our reach and supporting initiatives that address health and well-being comprehensively. Our priority remains ensuring that customers can access health solutions tailored to their needs. This is reflected in the way our products are catered to make quality healthcare accessible to a broader segment of the population, as well as in our community programmes, like the Cigna Run & Fitness, aimed at creating healthier societies.
Additionally, our focus on building a skilled healthcare workforce in the region allows us to improve quality and affordability while enhancing patient outcomes.
How do you envision the future of healthcare in the Middle East, and what steps is Cigna Healthcare taking to lead this transformation?
The MEA region is ripe for healthcare innovation. Dubai, as a global business and innovation hub, is leading the charge, especially with investments in digital health technologies like AI-driven diagnostics and telemedicine. At Cigna Healthcare, we’re committed to leveraging these advancements to improve access to high-quality, personalised care. With chronic diseases on the rise, our digital health and preventive care programmes are designed to support the needs of this diverse region. Collaborating with tech innovators and community leaders, we’re building a sustainable healthcare ecosystem that values both efficiency and the human touch.
Can you detail a recent project or innovation at Cigna Healthcare that exemplifies your approach to healthcare management?
Our SmartCare network, the region’s first open-access health insurance product, is an example of meaningful innovation designed to make quality healthcare accessible to a broader section of the population.
Through community awareness campaigns like “Your Health Plan, Your Growth Plan,” we’re highlighting the link between employee well-being and organisational health. Another important endeavour is the Cigna International Health Study, which surveyed over 10,000 people globally across 11 markets and focuses on eight different aspects of well-being.
It provides us with invaluable insights that shape our approach to holistic care, as well as actionable insights to enhance well-being for businesses, individuals, and families. This holistic approach reflects the growing recognition that factors such as work-life balance, emotional health, and financial security are critical to overall vitality.
Leadership in healthcare often involves making tough decisions. Can you share an example of a challenging decision you’ve faced and how you navigated it?
Healthcare leadership demands value-driven approaches that guarantee positive outcomes for patients. Balancing these with the region’s growing healthcare needs has been challenging, but remaining adaptable and committed to best practices helps us stay aligned with the evolving demands of integrated care.
As technology becomes increasingly integral to healthcare, what technological advancements are you most excited about implementing?
AI and automation are reshaping healthcare delivery. From faster claims processing to wearable technology that provides real-time health monitoring, technology is empowering patients while supporting clinicians. We see wearable devices as a game-changer in helping people stay on top of their health, allowing us to provide more efficient, continuous care.
The global wearable healthcare market is projected to reach over AED110 billion ($30.1 billion) by 2026, with a significant portion of the UAE population showing interest in these devices. Wearables in various forms— watches, patches, and straps—can detect up to 7,500 physiological and behavioural variables, providing vast amounts of information that AI can organise and analyse to offer lifesaving and life-enhancing insights.
You’ve been a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion. How have these values shaped your leadership style and actions at Cigna Healthcare?
In a multicultural region like the Middle East, diversity and inclusion are non-negotiable. The UAE has made remarkable progress with women’s representation in STEM, and we’re proud to support these efforts at Cigna Healthcare.
Our Women Influencing & Networking (WIN) initiative offers leadership shadowing and mentorship opportunities, fostering an environment where women can thrive.
The role of CEO in a dynamic region like the Middle East comes with unique challenges. What have been some unexpected aspects of your role, and how have you addressed them?
The Middle East presents both exciting opportunities and complex challenges. Workforce shortages, high rates of chronic diseases, and the need for improved health information systems require continuous strategic investment and workforce development. We’re committed to addressing these issues by investing in technology and building a skilled healthcare workforce to ensure accessible, quality care.
What strategies are you employing to ensure Cigna Healthcare not only retains but also attracts top talent in the healthcare industry?
Attracting top talent requires a strong employer brand and a workplace that values well-being. Our 5% Pledge initiative calls on leaders to dedicate 5% of their working hours towards their mental health, and encourages their teams to do the same, as part of our wider effort to combat stress and foster a balanced work environment. This commitment to employee well-being, alongside career development opportunities and competitive benefits, helps us attract and retain the best in the industry.
As a leader, how do you foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement among your teams?
I believe in setting a clear vision and empowering my teams to reach our goals. Continuous feedback, support, and customer insights help us to innovate and adapt. By prioritising employee well-being, we create a culture that values productivity and innovation.
Finally, what advice would you give to young women aspiring to leadership roles in healthcare or other industries where they may face significant barriers?
Women face similar challenges globally, particularly around balancing personal and professional responsibilities. But with GCC countries moving toward gender parity, I encourage women to stay committed and demonstrate excellence in their roles.
Initiatives like Cigna Healthcare’s WIN programme are invaluable for supporting women’s advancement and creating pathways to leadership. With resilience and the right support, the opportunities that arise can be transformative.
Beyond gender, inclusivity also means making healthcare accessible for all income levels. With products such as SmartCare by Cigna and its innovative open-access network, we’ve given employers in the mid-tier and SMEs an opportunity to offer quality access to care and a varied choice of healthcare providers to their employees.
Through our Enhanced Essential Benefits Plan, we’re making quality healthcare available to lower-income employees, ensuring that no one is left behind.
PHILIPPE STARCK: SHAPING A NEW ERA OF SUSTAINABLE LUXURY
The visionary designer’s latest projects reveal how creativity, innovation, and environmental stewardship are redefining high-end design.
In the world of design, few figures have had as wide-reaching an influence as Philippe Starck. For decades, he has been pushing the boundaries of architecture, product development, and interior design. Today, his focus is on something even bigger—addressing the planet’s ecological challenges while maintaining the level of craftsmanship and luxury that has defined his career.
Starck’s current portfolio of projects reveals a shift in mindset, one that prioritises sustainability and environmental awareness as the new hallmarks of luxury. As a designer who has always been at the forefront of innovation, Starck is using his talents to create solutions that are not only aesthetically captivating but also environmentally conscious.
From Concept to Reality: Merging Design and Sustainability
One of Starck’s most ambitious recent projects is Villa W, a sleek, self-sustaining eco-home perched on the French Riviera. From the outset, it was conceived with one goal in mind: to demonstrate that luxury living can coexist with ecological responsibility. Powered entirely by solar energy, the home also uses geothermal heating and a rainwater collection system. Even the materials used—locally sourced stone, recycled steel, and reclaimed wood—reflect a deep commitment to reducing environmental impact.
“True luxury today means making thoughtful choices that respect the world we live in,” Starck has said when describing the project. Villa W isn’t just a home; it’s a manifesto on how high-end design can be both beautiful and sustainable. It’s a response to the growing demand for spaces that provide comfort and indulgence, without leaving a heavy environmental footprint.
Repurposing Heritage: Les Docks Village, Marseille
Starck’s sustainable vision isn’t limited to new builds. His recent work on Les Docks Village in Marseille is a prime example of how existing spaces can be reimagined to serve a modern, environmentally responsible purpose. Originally an industrial shipping port, Les Docks has been transformed into a vibrant urban hub filled with offices, shops, and cultural spaces. Rather than demolishing the historic buildings, Starck chose to repurpose them. This not only preserved Marseille’s architectural heritage but also drastically reduced the environmental cost of the project. The buildings were retrofitted with energy-efficient systems and solar power, while the extensive use of natural light and greenery helps reduce energy consumption throughout the year.
The result is a space that is deeply connected to its roots, while still offering all the modern luxuries one would expect from a cutting-edge urban development. It’s this approach—one that merges the past with the future—that defines Starck’s evolving philosophy. “We don’t always need to start from scratch. There’s power in honouring what came before us, while pushing forward with new ideas,” he has remarked about the project.
Starck is often described as a designer who anticipates trends long before they take shape, and his focus on sustainability is no different. In a world where climate change and resource depletion dominate global conversations, Starck sees an opportunity to reimagine luxury itself.
The traditional notion of luxury often conjures images of excess, but for Starck, real luxury is now about intelligence and purpose.
“Today’s luxury doesn’t come from what you consume, but from what you give back,” he has observed in recent interviews. His new projects highlight how sustainable materials, renewable energy, and environmental responsibility can add value to the high-end market, rather than detract from it.
From his partnership with Bionic, which turns ocean plastics into high-quality fabrics, to his collaborations with brands like Kartell on eco-friendly furniture collections, Starck is proving that the future of luxury lies in innovation that cares for the planet.
One of Starck’s core beliefs is that design must serve a purpose beyond the purely aesthetic. It should solve problems, improve lives, and in today’s context, help mitigate the damage we’ve inflicted on the planet. This philosophy runs through everything he touches.
His work in sustainable design is about more than meeting the demands of environmentally conscious consumers—it’s a personal commitment to use his creativity to inspire positive change. Whether designing furniture from recycled materials or creating a self-sustaining villa, Starck’s designs ask us to reconsider our relationship with the world around us.
For Starck, innovation is not just about what’s new, but about what’s better—better for individuals, for society, and for the environment. In a time when the stakes for the planet’s future couldn’t be higher, he is showing how the design world can be a powerful force for change.
As Starck continues to challenge our perceptions of what design can be, his projects serve as a reminder that luxury and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. In fact, as we look ahead, they may become inextricably linked.
Philippe Starck’s vision offers a compelling path forward. By integrating cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design, he is crafting a world where luxury isn’t about consumption— it’s about contribution. His work stands as proof that the future of luxury will be defined not by what we take from the world, but by what we give back to it.
Through his visionary projects, Starck continues to remind us that great design is not just about looking good, but about doing good. And that might just be the ultimate luxury of all.
Redefining the Apex of Luxury and Performance in the Middle East
When Bugatti recently unveiled the much-anticipated Bugatti Tourbillon in Qatar, it wasn’t just an introduction of a new car to the Middle East. This was a debut that echoed the brand’s legacy of engineering and luxury—an offering that embodies the apex of performance, style, and sophistication. The Middle East has become an increasingly important market for Bugatti, a region where hypercars are revered by some of the world’s most discerning automotive connoisseurs. And so, it’s no surprise that Bugatti would choose this stage to reveal its most extraordinary model yet.
A Tribute to Middle Eastern Refinement and Appreciation for the Hypercar
With a long-standing passion for hypercars, the Middle East is renowned for its appreciation of luxury and innovation in all things automotive. Here, cars transcend function; they are a testament to personal style, a statement of prestige, and a celebration of design and performance. As Konstantinos Psarris, Bugatti’s Regional Director for the Middle East & Asia, noted, “The Bugatti Tourbillon marks a new incomparable era of our marque, a testament to our commitment to crafting art that transcends time.” It’s a sentiment that resonates with the region’s ethos, where art and luxury merge seamlessly with advanced engineering to create something genuinely transcendent.
At the heart of the Bugatti Tourbillon lies the most powerful engine Bugatti has ever crafted. An 8.3-litre quad-turbocharged V16 engine provides a staggering 1,800 horsepower, propelling this hypercar to a top speed of 445 km/h. For those who crave speed, the Tourbillon offers an unparalleled experience, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.0 seconds—an achievement that places it among the fastest production cars on the planet.
Such performance demands cutting-edge design. The aerodynamic profile of the Bugatti Tourbillon is more than visually striking; it’s an engineering marvel, crafted to optimise airflow and maximise downforce. With a retractable rear spoiler and adaptive suspension system, this hypercar is built for control at any speed delivering a driving experience that is both exhilarating and composed.
Inspired by icons such as the Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic and Type 41 Royale, the Tourbillon’s design brings together the best of Bugatti’s heritage and its forward-thinking spirit. The sleek, carbon-fibre body not only reduces weight but enhances performance, while the signature C-curve on its sides serves as both an aesthetic flourish and a functional feature, channelling airflow to improve handling and stability. Bugatti’s commitment to detail continues at the rear, where a retractable spoiler provides extra downforce at high speeds, ensuring a steady drive no matter the velocity. The front headlights—sleek, sculptural LEDs—integrate into the car’s streamlined form, illuminating the road with clarity and style. Every aspect of the Tourbillon’s design celebrates Bugatti’s tradition of elegance while signalling a bold vision for the future.
Inside the Tourbillon, Bugatti has created an environment of unrestrained luxury tailored entirely to the driver’s experience. Hand-stitched leather seats, polished aluminium accents, and bespoke carbon fibre trims come together to create an interior that is as stylish as it is functional. A fully digital instrument cluster delivers real-time performance data—speed, power output, torque distribution—all customisable to meet the preferences of each driver. It’s an interior that places the driver at the centre, blending comfort and performance seamlessly.
The Bugatti Tourbillon stands as a pinnacle of engineering innovation, representing years of research and development. The car is constructed with a carbon composite platform that combines strength and lightness, providing the robust foundation needed to harness the power of its V16 engine. With Bugatti’s advanced all-wheel-drive system and a suspension that adapts to any road condition, the Tourbillon promises an exceptional drive, whether on winding mountain roads or open highways.
With the launch of the Bugatti Tourbillon in the Middle East, Bugatti reaffirms its position as the leader in automotive luxury and performance. This hypercar isn’t merely a vehicle; it’s a work of art, a statement of intent, and a testament to the unending pursuit of excellence that defines the Bugatti brand. In Qatar, among aficionados who recognise and revere the art of automotive mastery, the Tourbillon has found its place—a symbol of the enduring bond between Bugatti and the world’s most discerning luxury market.
Mercedes’ flagship electric SUV offers a fusion of luxury, cutting-edge AI, and a vision of carbon-neutral mobility.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is taking the marque’s legacy into a new era of sustainability and innovation. As the flagship electric SUV in the brand’s expanding electric vehicle (EV) portfolio, the EQS SUV represents a bold commitment to eco-conscious design and forward-thinking technology. With a sleek exterior, a refined, spacious interior, and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features, the EQS SUV doesn’t just compete in the electric vehicle market—it sets a new standard for sustainable luxury on the road.
The Mercedes EQS SUV is not only a technological marvel, but it is also a symbol of the brand’s futurefacing commitment to carbon-neutral mobility. By 2039, Mercedes-Benz aims to have a fully carbon-neutral fleet, and the EQS SUV is a key part of that mission. From its eco-friendly manufacturing processes to the use of sustainable materials inside the vehicle, the EQS SUV exemplifies what luxury can be in a responsible, environmentally conscious world.
In an interview with Autocar, Markus Schäfer, Chief Operating Officer of Mercedes-Benz Cars, remarked on the significance of this shift: “Our strategy is clear—we want to be a leader in the electric era and our Ambition 2039 initiative ensures that our cars will be carbon-neutral across their lifecycle.” The EQS SUV is a prime example of this strategy in motion, with significant reductions in CO emissions across its production process.
The SUV’s striking design is equally about performance and sustainability. The sleek, aerodynamic silhouette minimises drag, while the use of recycled materials and renewable energy in its production underscores Mercedes’ dedication to sustainability. Even the finishing touches, from responsibly sourced leather to the use of upcycled materials, reflect the brand’s commitment to crafting vehicles that are as kind to the environment as they are luxurious.
While sustainability is at the core of the EQS SUV, Mercedes has also equipped this vehicle with some of the most advanced technology on the market. Central to the driving experience is the MBUX Hyperscreen, a massive 56-inch display that spans the width of the dashboard. This state-of-the-art interface combines navigation, entertainment, and vehicle controls into one seamless, AI-powered system.
The MBUX system uses artificial intelligence to learn and adapt to the driver’s habits and preferences. Over time, it anticipates the needs of the driver, from suggesting frequently used routes to customising climate control settings. This intuitive, AI-driven technology ensures that the EQS SUV isn’t just smart— it’s personalised.
In a recent discussion with Car and Driver, Mercedes-Benz’s Chief Technology Officer, Sajjad Khan, explained the philosophy behind the MBUX Hyperscreen: “Our goal was to make the vehicle intelligent enough to serve the driver in the best possible way. We want to simplify the driving experience, making it more intuitive and less distracting, so that the driver can focus on the journey.” The seamless integration of AI ensures that every drive feels custom-tailored, whether you’re commuting through the city or embarking on a long-distance journey. The EQS SUV also features Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities, which allow for semi-automated driving in certain conditions, bringing Mercedes closer to the future of fully autonomous vehicles. This technology, paired with a comprehensive suite of safety features, ensures that both luxury and peace of mind are front and centre.
Step inside the EQS SUV and you’re greeted by a space that rivals the most luxurious of vehicles. The cabin is a sanctuary of comfort, technology, and elegance, designed to cater to both drivers and passengers. The generous legroom, panoramic roof, and high-end materials create an atmosphere of tranquillity, while the quiet hum of the electric motor ensures a smooth, serene ride.
Mercedes offers several interior configurations, with sustainably sourced wood accents, vegan leather, and other eco-friendly options available. For those seeking bespoke luxury, Mercedes’ Designo customisation programme allows owners to tailor every detail of the cabin, from upholstery to lighting.
The EQS SUV’s spaciousness extends to practicality as well. With ample boot space and configurable seating arrangements, the vehicle effortlessly combines luxury with everyday usability. This balance between elegance and functionality is what sets the EQS SUV apart—it is a vehicle designed for the modern driver who values both style and substance.
Beyond its remarkable features, the Mercedes EQS SUV is part of a larger, ambitious plan to transform the brand’s approach to manufacturing and sustainability. The Ambition 2039 initiative marks MercedesBenz’s goal to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire vehicle lifecycle by 2039. This means not only producing electric vehicles like the EQS SUV but ensuring that the energy used in production facilities, the materials sourced, and even the vehicle’s disposal at the end of its life are all part of a carbon-neutral system.
In a statement, Ola Källenius, CEO of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to sustainability: “By 2039, we will offer a carbon-neutral fleet. We are investing heavily in green technologies and resources to ensure we achieve this goal, starting with the EQS and our growing electric portfolio.” This ambitious goal highlights how deeply the EQS SUV is embedded in Mercedes’ strategy for a more sustainable future.
The Mercedes EQS SUV exemplifies a new era where luxury and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. It offers everything one would expect from a Mercedes-Benz—aesthetics, comfort, cutting-edge technology— while making a clear statement about the future of automotive design. With its carbon-conscious production, high-end features, and seamless integration of AI, the EQS SUV is leading the charge towards a world where driving pleasure and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
For those who value both the experience of driving a luxury vehicle and the importance of reducing their carbon footprint, the EQS SUV delivers on every front. It’s not just about making the shift to electric; it’s about embracing a smarter, more sustainable way to enjoy the open road.
There’s something unapologetically alluring about a Porsche that feels like it was crafted solely for the love of driving. Enter the 911 Carrera T, a Porsche that dials back the extras and focuses on what really matters. This isn’t just another luxury sports car—it’s an ode to motoring purity, perfectly suited for the discerning enthusiast who believes in less, but better. And, for the first time, the Carrera T comes in two forms: coupé and cabriolet, offering the same thrill with or without the wind in your hair.
At its core, the Carrera T is about simplicity. Lightweight windows, reduced sound insulation, and the bare essentials when it comes to equipment. With manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, this car isn’t pandering to the masses; it’s built for those who savour every corner, who feel the road in their bones. Porsche has managed to shed over 40 kilograms from the current 911 Carrera, slimming it down to a nimble 1,478 kilograms. The result? A car that feels agile, responsive, and just a little bit rebellious.
For those who still consider driving an art, the 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine delivers all the thrills one could ask for. Capable of unleashing 394 horsepower and a top speed brushing up against 295 km/h, the Carrera T offers more than enough power to make even the mundane feel extraordinary. The six-speed manual transmission, complete with an auto-blip feature that injects a touch of nostalgia with each downshift, is as much about the joy of shifting as it is about raw performance.
This isn’t the Porsche for those who rely on digital creature comforts or endless driving aids. Instead, the Carrera T refines the connection between driver and machine, offering only what’s necessary to experience the thrill of the open road. The Carrera T’s tuned rear-axle steering and Sport Chrono Package give it an edge—an inherent athleticism that’s unpretentious, classic, and undeniably Porsche.
There’s an intimacy here, a feeling that each turn of the wheel, each gear shift, and each rev has purpose. Porsche’s engineers have paid as much attention to what’s been left out as to what’s been included. A lowered adaptive sports suspension, specially tuned anti-roll bars, and streamlined aerodynamics give the Carrera T an almost telepathic response. In a world where cars often try to be everything to everyone, this Porsche dares to be focused, unapologetically.
In an age where bold branding dominates, Porsche has taken the opposite approach. This Carrera T doesn’t flaunt the classic red badge; instead, it’s quietly confident. Vanadium Grey accents grace the rear model designation, mirrors, and wheels, offering a refined yet subtle touch. And for those with an eye for colour, Porsche’s new palette of shades like Shade Green Metallic, Crayon, and Cartagena Yellow Metallic brings a fresh perspective without veering into the gaudy. Inside, the Carrera T keeps things minimal. The interior’s black upholstery, tartan seat centres, and contrasting stitching in colours like Gentian Blue add a sense of restrained luxury. The real showstopper? The exposed walnut gear knob—an unexpected yet beautiful homage to Porsche’s heritage. This is an interior for those who appreciate tactile pleasures: the grip of a heated sports steering wheel, the simplicity of a leather dash, and, of course, the art of shifting gears manually.
While many sports cars aim for the racetrack, the Carrera T is made for the journey itself. It’s about the stretches of open road, the scenic routes, and the thrill of the unexpected. Whether you choose the coupé or cabriolet, this is a car that respects the driver’s experience above all. At just over 500 grams, the Carrera T feels like a feather in your hands, yet with enough heft to feel secure as you tackle winding roads and sharp turns. The manual transmission might sound like a throwback, but in this Porsche, it’s a revival. The Carrera T reminds us that driving, real driving, is about feeling the road beneath you. And while the world turns to automatic convenience, Porsche’s choice to keep it manual feels almost rebellious—a quiet defiance that purists will appreciate.
In an automotive landscape filled with excess, the Porsche 911 Carrera T stands out precisely because it’s so restrained. It’s a Porsche that knows exactly what it is—a driver’s car, stripped of frills, ready for the open road. This isn’t a sports car for everyone, and it doesn’t pretend to be. Instead, it’s for those who see driving as more than a means to an end; it’s for those who consider it an art form. The Carrera T’s new cabriolet option only adds to the appeal, letting you take in the sights and sounds that make each journey unique. For the connoisseur who values performance over pomp, the Porsche Carrera T is a love letter to the road, a car that invites you to leave the digital noise behind and focus on what truly matters—the drive.
In the world of luxury SUVs, few names evoke the heritage, power, and class of Range Rover. And now, the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two steps onto the scene, redefining what a high-performance SUV can be. This is not merely a vehicle but an audacious statement of athletic elegance, designed for those who value presence as much as precision. With four unique design curations, the 2024 SV Edition Two blends form and function in a way only Range Rover can.
The Sport SV Edition Two isn’t just about power; it’s about mastering control. Range Rover has equipped it with hydraulic interlinked 6D Dynamics suspension, ensuring that no matter the terrain or driving condition, the vehicle maintains near-perfect poise. The sensation is akin to gliding—an effortless balance that feels as refined as it is assertive. Paired with Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes, available as an option, this SV edition offers supreme stopping power that’s as dependable as its acceleration.
And speaking of speed, the SV’s 4.4-litre Twin-Turbo V8 engine is a marvel of engineering. Capable of reaching 0-60 mph in an exhilarating 3.6 seconds, the Range Rover Sport SV is the most powerful Range Rover to date. With 635PS and 750Nm of torque at its disposal, this isn’t just a luxury vehicle—it’s a performance powerhouse built for those who seek a more thrilling kind of drive.
For 2024, the SV Edition Two comes in four exclusive design curations, each crafted to express a different personality. The Blue Nebula Matte finish, inspired by the shifting colours of the Atlantic coastline, gives a subtle nod to nature with an underlying green tint. Paired with satin carbon fibre accents and bold Blue Nebula brake calipers, this curation combines subtlety with an undeniable on-road presence. Inside, the Light Cloud and Ebony Windsor leather interior strikes a balance between luxury and dynamic style. Then there’s the Marl Grey Gloss with Gloss Carbon Twill accents, a look that emanates sophistication. The exposed carbon fibre bonnet and 23-inch Carbon Gloss wheels complement the exterior’s cool, composed elegance, while Rosewood and Ebony Windsor leather interior adds a rich warmth that softens the SUV’s aggressive exterior.
The Sunrise Copper Satin configuration brings a boldness that’s hard to ignore. Complete with Satin Carbon Twill detailing and red anodised brake calipers, this curation is made for the driver who doesn’t mind a bit of flair. Inside, the Ebony Windsor leather upholstery keeps things grounded, proving that even the most extroverted vehicles can still have an air of restraint.
Finally, the Ligurian Black Gloss finish, with Nano Yellow brake calipers and a Cinder and Ebony interior, is perhaps the most mysterious of the curations. The dark tones and satin carbon finish convey an almost brooding elegance, while the exclusive Knit and Ultrafabrics PU interiors offer a technical, tactile experience that’s as luxurious as it is cutting-edge.
An Interior Crafted for the Modern Adventurer
Inside the Range Rover Sport SV, luxury meets high-performance technology. The exclusive front SV Performance Seats, adorned with integrated headrests and sculpted bolsters, hold you comfortably in place, ensuring a seamless experience even during aggressive driving. Designed with 16-way adjustability, heating, cooling, and massage functionality, these seats are as much about comfort as they are about control.
And then there’s the “Body and Soul Seat” (BASS) technology—a truly innovative touch. It’s sensory audio technology reimagined, with wellness benefits woven directly into the fabric of the vehicle. It’s not just about hearing the music; it’s about feeling it. This tech transforms the interior into a personal sanctuary, where sound and motion combine to create a holistic experience that’s as calming as it is immersive.
The attention to detail extends to the redesigned steering wheel, with enhanced thumb grips and a thicker rim for a confident grip. The exclusive illuminated SV Mode button, which instantly reconfigures the vehicle for peak performance, makes this more than just a steering wheel; it’s a command centre for the ultimate driving experience. Subtle yet striking, the LED-lit gear-shift paddles turn red in SV Mode, a feature that adds both functionality and flair.
Where other luxury SUVs lean into ruggedness, the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two takes a different approach, embodying sporting luxury with precision-tuned elegance. Every detail—from the enlarged gear-shift paddles with LED edge lighting to the bespoke 23-inch Carbon Fibre Wheels—serves to heighten the vehicle’s poised yet powerful aesthetic.
Yet, as with all Range Rovers, the SV Edition Two is built for more than just city streets. Thanks to specially developed Michelin tyres, it boasts an incredible 1.2G of steady-state lateral acceleration, ensuring unparalleled grip and stability. And for those colder months, all-season tyres with unique tread patterns provide maximum performance without compromising safety or comfort.
With its meticulous craftsmanship, advanced technology, and dynamic performance, the Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two is much more than an SUV. It’s a vehicle for those who live for the thrill of the drive, for those who demand power without sacrificing refinement. Each curation, from Blue Nebula to Ligurian Black, is a testament to the art of automotive design, where luxury meets precision and capability meets elegance.
The Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two redefines what a high-performance SUV can be, offering not just a drive but an experience—one where technology, design, and driving pleasure converge. For those who understand that true luxury is as much about performance as it is about prestige, this is the ultimate choice. After all, in the world of high-performance luxury SUVs, there’s only one Range Rover Sport SV.
The world’s first ultra-luxury electric super coupe blends
Rolls-Royce’s iconic craftsmanship with the future of sustainable driving.
For over a century, Rolls-Royce has defined what it means to create the pinnacle of automotive luxury. From the refined elegance of its handcrafted interiors to the whisper-quiet performance of its engines, every Rolls-Royce is a masterpiece designed for those who demand the absolute best. Now, with the introduction of the Rolls-Royce Spectre, the brand enters a new era, bringing its iconic craftsmanship to the world of electric vehicles. The Spectre is more than just another EV—it is the world’s first ultra-luxury electric super coupe, a seamless blend of tradition and innovation that ushers Rolls-Royce into the future.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre marks a bold step forward in the company’s journey towards a fully electric future, with the brand committing to an all-electric lineup by 2030. The Spectre is the first step in this transformation, but it is unmistakably a Rolls-Royce in every sense. From its commanding presence on the road to the unrivalled craftsmanship inside, it stays true to the brand’s heritage while setting a new standard for what luxury means in the electric age.
Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce, has been vocal about the significance of this transition. “Spectre is a symbol of our commitment to the future of sustainable luxury,” he said in an interview with Robb Report. “We are not just entering the electric vehicle market—we are redefining it. Spectre is a Rolls-Royce first and an electric car second. It retains all of the qualities that have made us the most respected name in luxury, while leading the way in a new era of environmentally responsible motoring.”
The Spectre embodies the classic Rolls-Royce design philosophy, with a silhouette that is instantly recognisable. The long, sweeping lines, the stately presence, and the iconic Pantheon grille all speak to a heritage of elegance and grandeur. However, the grille, while still symbolic, is now purely aesthetic. Behind it, lies the beating heart of a fully electric vehicle.
Rolls-Royce’s design team took great care to ensure that the Spectre feels like a true successor to the brand’s legacy, even as it ventures into the electric realm. The body of the Spectre has been meticulously sculpted to achieve optimal aerodynamic efficiency, which enhances both performance and range. However, the focus remains on maintaining the brand’s unmistakable presence. The result is a super coupe that exudes confidence and sophistication while embracing a more sustainable future.
In an interview with Top Gear, Anders Warming, Director of Design at Rolls-Royce, discussed the challenges of maintaining the brand’s identity in an electric vehicle. “We wanted the Spectre to reflect our core values of luxury and presence, without losing any of the magic that makes a Rolls-Royce feel like a Rolls-Royce. Electric technology opens new possibilities, but our priority was ensuring that, from the moment you step inside, you know you’re in something truly exceptional.”
One of the most captivating elements of the Spectre is the sense of serenity it delivers. The transition to electric power has enhanced one of Rolls-Royce’s defining characteristics—silence. Without the hum of a petrol engine, the Spectre offers an even more refined and tranquil driving experience. The electric motors provide a smooth, whisper-quiet ride, and the lack of vibration or noise allows passengers to immerse themselves fully in the sumptuous luxury of the cabin.
This silence, however, does not mean a compromise in power. Rolls-Royce has equipped the Spectre with a sophisticated all-electric powertrain that delivers instant torque and seamless acceleration. While the exact performance figures remain closely guarded, early reports suggest the Spectre will have the kind of effortless power that has long been a hallmark of the brand. As Müller-Ötvös stated during a press event, “With the Spectre, we are proving that sustainability and performance can coexist without compromise.”
Inside the Spectre, the experience is nothing short of extraordinary. Rolls-Royce is known for creating some of the most meticulously crafted interiors in the automotive world, and the Spectre takes this legacy to the next level. The use of sustainable materials is woven into the cabin’s design, with vegan leather and responsibly sourced wood and metals. But despite its eco-conscious ethos, the Spectre’s interior is still a masterclass in bespoke luxury.
Every detail of the Spectre’s cabin has been carefully considered. From the starlight headliner that twinkles above, to the exquisitely embroidered seats, the focus remains on creating a space that feels both intimate and grand. Rolls-Royce’s renowned Bespoke programme allows customers to personalise every aspect of the interior, ensuring that no two Spectres are alike.
“In Spectre, we wanted to maintain the tactile, sensory experience that makes Rolls-Royce so special,” said Warming. “The electric drivetrain allowed us to rethink certain aspects of the interior, but it has also given us new opportunities to play with space and light in ways that enhance the feeling of luxury.”
Beyond the handcrafted interiors and the silent elegance of its ride, the Spectre represents a fundamental shift in how Rolls-Royce approaches luxury. The company’s commitment to becoming a fully electric brand by 2030 signals a future where sustainability is at the heart of its ethos. The Spectre’s electric powertrain not only eliminates emissions but also aligns with Rolls-Royce’s efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its production processes.
T
he Spectre’s development is part of a larger vision known as “Road to 2030,” an initiative that will see Rolls-Royce transition to a completely electric fleet within the next decade. By embracing sustainable practices without sacrificing its dedication to craftsmanship, Rolls-Royce is proving that luxury and responsibility can go hand in hand.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre is more than just a car—it is a statement of intent. It is a vehicle that honours the brand’s storied past while embracing the future of motoring. With its groundbreaking design, impeccable craftsmanship, and a quiet yet powerful electric drivetrain, the Spectre proves that sustainability can be synonymous with luxury.
As the world’s first ultra-luxury electric super coupe, the Spectre sets the stage for Rolls-Royce’s future. For those fortunate enough to step behind the wheel, it represents not just a new way to drive, but a new way to experience the road—one where elegance, innovation, and sustainability come together in perfect harmony.

A deep dive into the latest Royal Oak Offshore models, blending avant-garde aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship for the modern watch enthusiast.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore has long been a symbol of boldness, both in design and in spirit. Since its launch in 1993, the Offshore collection has pushed the boundaries of traditional watchmaking, offering larger cases, experimental materials, and a sportier attitude compared to its iconic predecessor, the Royal Oak. In 2024, Audemars Piguet continues this legacy with new releases that highlight the brand’s shift toward modern, avantgarde aesthetics while maintaining its commitment to traditional craftsmanship.
The 2024 Royal Oak Offshore lineup includes three striking new models that exemplify the collection’s reputation for audacity. With sizes ranging from 37mm to 43mm, the new additions bring a variety of aesthetics, from rose gold to smoked bronze and blue tones, each offering a unique interpretation of the Offshore’s signature style. The larger 43mm models feature a robust stainless steel case with ceramic accents, including a blue rubber-coated bezel or black ceramic pushers, designed to withstand both daily wear and more adventurous conditions. What stands out in this year’s collection is the Méga Tapisserie dial pattern, a signature design element of the Offshore, made even more visually impactful with smoked finishes. The combination of bold colors like smoked blue and bronze further enhances the daring look, appealing to those who seek luxury with an edge.
While the Royal Oak Offshore is known for its modern flair, it remains deeply rooted in the craftsmanship for which Audemars Piguet is famous. Each timepiece in the collection is meticulously finished by hand, from the high-polished edges of the case to the carefully applied hour markers. The 2024 models are powered by in-house movements, including the Calibre 4302 and the Calibre 4401—both self-winding mechanisms that offer a power reserve of up to 70 hours. These movements ensure not only precision but also durability, making the Offshore as functional as it is fashionable. According to watch experts, the Royal Oak Offshore’s use of materials such as ceramic and rubber highlights the brand’s forward-thinking approach to watchmaking. Audemars Piguet has always been a leader in experimenting with materials, and this year’s lineup is no exception, blending avant-garde design with the same robust engineering that has made the Offshore an icon in the sports luxury category.

As Audemars Piguet pushes the boundaries of what a luxury sports watch can be, the 2024 Offshore models prove that bold design and meticulous craftsmanship can coexist in perfect harmony.
In an exquisite display of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary elegance, Breguet introduces the latest additions to its Classique collection, the Classique 5177 and 7787. Encased in platinum for the first time and finished with a deep, black “Grand Feu” enamel dial, these watches are a tribute to timeless style, crafted with the sophistication Breguet is renowned for.
For the modern collector who appreciates understated luxury, the Classique 5177 and 7787 represent the art of simplicity, with platinum cases that enhance the deep black of the enamel dial. The platinum’s luminous grey subtly complements the richness of the enamel, creating a refined contrast that is both sophisticated and striking. The 5177’s clean design emphasises the essentials—time and date—while the 7787 adds a moon-phase indicator and power reserve, giving it a poetic dimension that invites you to reflect on time’s passage.
“Grand Feu”
The “Grand Feu” enamel technique used in these models dates back centuries and is known for its enduring beauty and complexity. Breguet has perfected this art, with the dial of each watch created through multiple firings at extremely high temperatures. This meticulous process results in a flawless, mirror-like finish that adds depth and richness to the dial’s black surface, making it as captivating as it is timeless.
A glance at the Classique 5177 and 7787 reveals Breguet’s stylistic signature—the slender “moon” tip hands, Arabic numerals, and fluted case sides. The legacy of Abraham-Louis Breguet, a pioneer in watch design, is evident in every detail, from the readability of the dial to the refined aesthetics that echo the heritage of 18th-century watchmaking.
Beauty Meets Precision
Inside, the watches are powered by two reliable automatic movements: the calibre 777 Q for the 5177 and the calibre 591 DRL for the 7787. Both movements promise exceptional accuracy and a robust power reserve, ensuring the watches are not only beautiful but built to perform. The oscillating weights, visible through the sapphire crystal case backs, are intricately decorated, adding a touch of artistry that complements the overall design.

Tag Heuer has built a reputation for creating exceptional timepieces that combine both aesthetics and performance, and its Connected Smartwatch is no exception. Though known for its history of classic, mechanical watches, the brand has embraced the digital age, delivering a watch that appeals to a new generation of buyers who value both tradition and innovation.
“This model is the culmination of years of expertise,” said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of Tag Heuer, in an interview with Wired. “We’ve carefully maintained the craftsmanship that our customers expect, while integrating the technology that they now demand.” Crafted with the same attention to detail as Tag Heuer’s iconic chronographs, the Connected Smartwatch is made from high-quality materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and sapphire crystal, giving it a durable yet elegant finish. The watch is available in different sizes, ensuring a fit for every wrist, and with interchangeable straps made of leather, rubber, or metal, it can be tailored to suit any occasion—from the boardroom to the gym.
The Connected Smartwatch stands out not only for its luxury design but for its powerful technology, making it the perfect companion for those with a fast-paced lifestyle. The smartwatch runs on Google’s Wear OS, offering seamless connectivity with smartphones, allowing users to manage notifications, set reminders, and access apps—all from their wrist. One of the most appealing aspects for the active luxury buyer is the smartwatch’s enhanced fitness tracking. With advanced sensors, including a heart rate monitor, GPS tracking, and sleep analysis, the watch provides in-depth health and fitness insights. According to Arnault, “We’ve designed this watch to be as functional as it is beautiful. Whether you’re tracking a workout or running through your daily schedule, the Connected Smartwatch keeps up.”
For sports enthusiasts, the watch offers dedicated modes for activities like running, cycling, and golf. Its performance-tracking capabilities are paired with sleek visual readouts and intuitive interfaces, ensuring that the wearer is not just informed, but also engaged. Customisable watch faces allow users to switch between digital displays or traditional analogue aesthetics, offering versatility without sacrificing elegance.
What truly sets the Tag Heuer Connected Smartwatch apart from other wearables is the luxurious feel it maintains while housing some of the most advanced technology in the market. Each model is meticulously designed and assembled in Switzerland, ensuring the high level of craftsmanship expected from a Swiss watchmaker. “Tag Heuer has managed to keep the feel of a luxury watch while integrating technology that enhances daily life,” said Rob Corder, editor of WatchPro, in an interview with Financial Times. “It’s a watch that appeals to collectors and tech enthusiasts alike. You don’t have to choose between elegance and functionality anymore.” From answering calls to tracking health metrics, the Connected Smartwatch makes tech accessible without compromising the look and feel of a high-end timepiece. The ceramic bezel, polished steel accents, and high-resolution touchscreen offer a tactile experience that rivals any mechanical luxury watch on the market.
The beauty of the Connected Smartwatch lies not only in its present features but in its ability to stay relevant. With over-the-air software updates, the watch remains future-proof, evolving with the latest tech developments. Unlike traditional watches, which may require regular servicing to maintain precision, the Connected Smartwatch continues to improve over time as new updates are rolled out.
“We’re not just creating a smartwatch for now,” Arnault explained. “We want this watch to grow with our users, offering new features and capabilities that keep pace with their evolving needs.”
This adaptability makes the Connected Smartwatch a long-term investment, appealing to buyers who want a product that delivers value well into the future.

Few watches can claim to have shaped history like the Omega Speedmaster. From its birth in 1957 to its iconic journey to the Moon in 1969, the Speedmaster has cemented itself as more than just a timepiece— it’s a symbol of human ambition and exploration. Now, Omega is bringing back one of its most beloved iterations, the Speedmaster First Omega in Space (FOiS), a watch that blends the charm of vintage style with the spirit of modern adventure.
A Timepiece with a Story to Tell
The Speedmaster’s legacy began long before it was known as the Moonwatch. It first ventured into space on October 3, 1962, strapped to the wrist of astronaut Walter “Wally” Schirra during the Mercury-Atlas 8 mission. That moment marked the birth of the First Omega in Space, forever tying the brand to the stars. This 2024 edition is a tribute to that unforgettable journey, echoing the watch worn by Schirra yet enhanced with thoughtful, contemporary updates. Omega has skilfully captured the essence of the original, while adding just the right amount of flair to attract both purists and those seeking a statement piece with a rich backstory.
A Vintage Dream Reborn
The beauty of this new Speedmaster lies in its ability to evoke nostalgia without feeling outdated. Its classic 39.7mm case—mirroring the original design—keeps things sleek and understated. Omega has opted to stick with the straight lugs, a design choice that nods to the vintage aesthetic. And while it honours the past, this version is slightly more refined, slimmer on the wrist, and perfect for today’s more minimalist tastes.
But what truly captures the eye is the dial. Omega has introduced a stunning grey-blue tone, which is both subtle and striking—a colour that feels timeless yet fresh. The attention to detail is undeniable, from the applied Omega logo to the elegant Alpha hands that seem plucked straight from the 1960s. Even the luminous markers are bathed in a vintage-style glow, recalling the era of space missions, yet feeling entirely contemporary.
While its vintage charm is clear on the surface, the 2024 FOiS doesn’t just rely on its good looks. Beneath the dial lies one of Omega’s most reliable movements. It’s the heart of this timepiece, ensuring that the First Omega in Space performs with the precision and resilience that made its predecessors legendary. Though you can’t see it, this movement is built for modern life—whether you’re navigating city streets or daydreaming about distant galaxies.
Wearing this watch is more than just a fashion statement—it’s a connection to one of humanity’s greatest achievements. It’s a piece of the story that took us beyond the boundaries of our planet. Every glance at the dial is a reminder of Omega’s role in that journey, a role that continues to inspire explorers, adventurers, and dreamers alike.
Omega knows that the Speedmaster First Omega in Space holds a special place in the hearts of its fans. With this new release, the brand has managed to honour the original in a way that feels both familiar and new. It’s the perfect balance between heritage and innovation, wrapped up in a design that is as ready for the future as it is steeped in history.
Whether you’re a collector of iconic timepieces or simply appreciate the art of storytelling through design, this 2024 Speedmaster is not just a watch—it’s a living legacy. Omega has once again reminded us why the Speedmaster continues to captivate hearts and minds, over six decades after its first journey into space.
In an exciting leap forward, Patek Philippe unveils the Cubitus 5822P, a timepiece that marks the birth of the brand’s Cubitus collection. Designed to be both visually captivating and functionally innovative, the watch’s unique square platinum case with rounded corners houses a new ultra-thin movement showcasing multiple complications. With its elegant blue sunburst dial, the 5822P pays homage to Patek Philippe’s commitment to craftsmanship and timeless style.
The Cubitus 5822P is visually striking, thanks to its bold, square case—a departure from traditional round forms—crafted in platinum. The case’s refined satin-brushed and polished finishes highlight its sleek, architectural lines, making it a standout piece in any collection. At 45mm, the case exudes a powerful presence without compromising on elegance, and, as with all Patek Philippe platinum models, a discreet baguette-cut diamond graces the bezel at 6 o’clock.
The dial features horizontal relief embossing, creating a dynamic sunburst effect that deepens the blue, adding layers of complexity to the visual experience. The clean lines are complemented by white gold baton-style hour markers and rounded hands, which glow green in the dark, enhancing legibility while preserving the watch’s sophisticated aesthetic.
At the heart of the Cubitus 5822P lies the calibre 240 PS CI J LU, a newly designed movement based on the iconic calibre 240. Notably thin, this self-winding mechanical movement incorporates six patent-pending innovations, blending functionality and artistry. It powers the watch’s grand date display, moon phase, and day-of-the-week indicator, all of which feature instantaneous jumps, changing precisely at midnight in a split second. This meticulous attention to detail ensures both accurate timekeeping and a seamless visual experience. The calibre 240 PS CI J LU showcases Patek Philippe’s expertise in blending mechanical innovation with aesthetic appeal. Through a sapphire crystal case back, the movement reveals an engraved 22K gold mini-rotor, echoing the horizontal relief lines on the dial.
The Cubitus 5822P reflects Patek Philippe’s dedication to creating timepieces that are both technically exceptional and aesthetically pioneering. With the introduction of this collection, the brand not only honours its heritage but also signals a forward-thinking approach to design and functionality. With the Cubitus 5822P, Patek Philippe has crafted a watch that marries tradition and innovation in an utterly refined package. It is a watch for those who value artistry, precision, and the enduring appeal of Swiss horology at its finest.
A celebration of Richard Mille’s commitment to high-end women’s timepieces, combining strength, beauty, and technical prowess in the RM 01-07 collection.
Richard Mille’s RM 07-01 is far from a typical luxury watch. It’s an embodiment of a modern, avantgarde vision that seamlessly balances technical innovation with bold aesthetics. From its cutting-edge materials to its sophisticated mechanics, the RM 07-01 Automatic is designed to capture the essence of the contemporary woman—strong, independent, and with an eye for both luxury and functionality.
With the RM 07-01, Richard Mille departs from the convention of scaling down men’s watches to suit women. Instead, it sets its sights on designing a timepiece that reflects the needs and tastes of today’s women. The design strikes a perfect balance between elegance and functionality, offering a watch that is light, resilient, and effortlessly stylish.
The use of Carbon TPT® in the case gives the watch its signature look—sleek and modern, yet rugged enough to withstand everyday wear. The Carbon TPT® material not only reduces the weight of the timepiece but also provides a striking visual effect with its distinctive layered patterns, further enhanced in some models with accents of 5N red gold. In particular, the RM 07-01 Starry Night edition elevates this combination, incorporating 181 diamonds into the design to create an intricate and visually captivating motif.
The RM 07-01 goes beyond aesthetics, representing the marriage of traditional watchmaking skills with Richard Mille’s innovative approach to materials and technology. The skeletonised Calibre CRMA2 movement at the heart of this model showcases the brand’s attention to detail. It’s not just about accuracy— it’s also about showcasing the beauty of mechanical craftsmanship. The movement, visible through the case, offers a glimpse into the engineering mastery that Richard Mille is known for.
The variable-geometry rotor, a hallmark of Richard Mille’s watches, ensures the automatic winding mechanism adapts to the wearer’s activity level, providing both reliability and efficiency. This is particularly useful for women who lead active lives, as it keeps the watch wound and functioning smoothly without the need for manual adjustment.
In an era where the lines between luxury and performance continue to blur, the RM 07-01 stands as a perfect example of Richard Mille’s philosophy. As Peter Harrison, CEO of Richard Mille Europe, once remarked, “The RM 07-01 wasn’t designed to be a fragile, delicate piece of jewelry. It’s meant to represent the same strength, resilience, and elegance that we see in the women who wear it.” This approach is a direct response to the changing tastes of women in the luxury watch market—women who seek both refinement and utility in their timepieces. The design of the curb-link bracelet, weaving together red gold and Carbon TPT®, further emphasizes Richard Mille’s attention to ergonomics and wearability. It’s a detail that showcases the seamless blend of luxury and comfort, offering both style and substance.
The RM 07-01 Automatic is more than just a luxury watch—it’s a bold statement. With its fusion of advanced materials, cutting-edge engineering, and striking design, it embodies Richard Mille’s vision of what a modern woman’s timepiece should be. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, this watch offers a distinctive look that stands out in a market dominated by tradition.
The 2024 editions of the RM 07-01 continue to push boundaries, offering women more than just a beautiful piece of wristwear. These are watches designed for those who demand both elegance and performance in their timepieces. Whether it’s the technical marvel of the skeletonised movement or the high-performance materials used in its construction, the RM 07-01 is a celebration of the future of women’s luxury watches.
PRIVATE ISLAND ESCAPES AND ECO-CONSCIOUS GETAWAYS IN ONE OF THE WORLD›S LAST GREAT WILDERNESSES
Few destinations evoke the awe and serenity of the Seychelles—a tropical sanctuary of more than 115 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean. Known for its turquoise waters, soft white sands, and lush jungles, the Seychelles has long been a favourite for discerning travellers seeking both luxury and sustainability. With a growing focus on eco-conscious tourism, this island nation offers the perfect blend of indulgence and environmental responsibility. From exclusive private island retreats to resorts dedicated to preserving the natural world, the Seychelles is quickly emerging as one of the most desirable destinations for luxury travellers who want to unwind in paradise while supporting conservation efforts.
For those who desire the ultimate in privacy, the Seychelles’ private islands offer the pinnacle of seclusion. North Island is one of the most iconic destinations, renowned for its luxurious accommodations and environmental conservation efforts. With just 11 handcrafted villas spread across a private island, North Island offers guests an unparalleled level of personal service.
What sets North Island apart is its commitment to restoring the island’s natural habitat. The resort’s longrunning conservation project has successfully reintroduced endangered species such as the Seychelles white-eye bird and rehabilitated vast areas of the island. Speaking to Condé Nast Traveler, North Island’s conservation manager, Lindsay Chalmers, shared, “Our priority has always been the protection and restoration of the island’s biodiversity. Guests are welcome to be part of our efforts, experiencing luxury alongside meaningful contributions to conservation.”
Another gem of the Seychelles’ private islands is Félicité Island, home to Six Senses Zil Pasyon. Known for its focus on wellness and sustainability, Zil Pasyon integrates eco-friendly practices throughout its operations, from solar power to locally sourced ingredients. The resort’s signature spa treatments use natural ingredients found on the island, and guests can enjoy views of the Indian Ocean from their clifftop villas. According to Forbes Travel Guide, “Six Senses Zil Pasyon has set the bar for sustainable luxury with a strong focus on wellness and the preservation of the island’s unique ecosystem.”
For travellers who wish to combine luxury with sustainability, Fregate Island Private is one of the leading eco-conscious resorts in the Seychelles. Fregate Island has been instrumental in restoring its unique wildlife, including the reintroduction of the critically endangered Seychelles magpie robin. As noted by The Guardian, Fregate Island is “one of the best places to experience true eco-tourism, where guests can enjoy nature while contributing to its protection.”
The island’s villas are spread across the landscape to maintain a low environmental footprint, and guests are invited to explore the island’s conservation projects, including the protection of Aldabra giant tortoises and endemic flora. Meanwhile, Denis Private Island takes a more rustic approach to luxury, offering solar-powered, beachfront cottages that allow guests to live in harmony with nature. The island’s farm-to-table dining experience uses fresh, organic produce from Denis Island’s own farm, which is completely free of pesticides.
The resort’s focus on conservation and community development has earned it a reputation as one of the leading eco-luxury destinations. In an interview with The Telegraph, a spokesperson for Denis Private Island noted, “Our sustainability initiatives are designed to make sure that we’re giving back more than we take.”
The Seychelles is quickly becoming a destination for wellness tourism, where visitors can rejuvenate both body and mind while surrounded by nature. Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, located on the lush island of Mahé, offers a blend of luxury and wellness, with its open-air spa overlooking the pristine Petite Anse Bay. “Our guests are looking for more than just relaxation,” said Nathalie Paccard, wellness director at the Four Seasons.
“They want meaningful, rejuvenating experiences that connect them with the natural beauty of the Seychelles.” At Constance Lemuria on Praslin Island, guests can enjoy eco-conscious golf, set in one of the most beautiful and sustainable courses in the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by a UNESCO World Heritage site, the resort’s efforts to minimise its environmental impact have made it a favourite for those who want to play while staying green. “We’ve taken measures to ensure our guests can experience luxury while preserving the environment around us,” the resort shared with Condé Nast Traveler.
Nearly 50% of the Seychelles’ land is protected, making it one of the world’s leaders in environmental conservation. The government’s commitment to sustainability has inspired many luxury resorts to adopt eco-friendly practices, ensuring that both guests and businesses contribute to the long-term preservation of this paradise.
Sherin Francis, CEO of Seychelles Tourism, highlighted the country’s approach during an address at the World Travel Market, saying, “The Seychelles has always been a beacon for eco-conscious travellers. Our aim is to preserve the natural beauty of our islands while creating sustainable opportunities for the tourism sector.”
With a focus on both luxury and sustainability, the Seychelles is leading the way in responsible tourism. Resorts are increasingly partnering with local conservation groups to monitor marine life, rehabilitate coral reefs, and reforest native habitats, ensuring that future generations can experience this incredible destination. Michelin-Star Chefs, Wellness Spas, and Private Submarines Redefine Travel for the World’s Elite
The world’s ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) travellers are increasingly gravitating towards private, tailor-made experiences that offer unmatched exclusivity and luxury. Superyacht rentals have become the ultimate expression of this desire. With Michelin-star chefs, private wellness spas, and even submarines for underwater exploration, superyachts have transformed from mere vessels of transport into floating luxury resorts. For the world’s most discerning travellers, these yachts offer not only privacy but a fully bespoke experience that caters to their every whim. While the Mediterranean and Caribbean remain top destinations, demand for yacht rentals has surged in regions such as Southeast Asia and remote areas like the Arctic and the Red Sea, where travellers seek untouched beauty and true seclusion.
Demand for superyacht charters is rising as UHNW individuals seek unparalleled privacy, luxury, and exclusivity. According to a recent report by SuperYacht Times, the global superyacht market grew by 12% in 2023, with more clients looking for year-round charters in the Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Jonathan Beckett, CEO of Burgess Yachts, explains: “Privacy is the ultimate luxury, and our clients are always looking for more personalised experiences,” he said in an interview with Boat International. “What sets yachting apart is that you can create your own world on board, fully tailored to your needs.” This desire for privacy resonates strongly with UHNW individuals who want to escape from everyday pressures without sacrificing luxury. “On a yacht, guests can enjoy absolute seclusion while still having access to the highest standards of service and the most exclusive amenities,” Beckett added.
Superyachts have evolved into floating resorts, offering all the amenities and services of a five-star hotel. From Michelin-star chefs crafting bespoke menus to wellness retreats offering private yoga sessions on deck, superyachts cater to even the most specific demands.
Amanda Armstrong, co-founder and Managing Director of Yomira, a luxury yacht charter company, emphasised in an interview with The Successful Founder: “We take our clients on a consultative journey to genuinely find out what their motivations are for a holiday, what makes them tick when they are in ‘relax’ mode. Our charters are designed to be completely immersive experiences.” The demand for wellness services on superyachts mirrors a global trend towards health-focused travel. According to the Knight Frank Wealth Report, more UHNW individuals are seeking wellness experiences as part of their luxury getaways, and superyachts are responding with full-scale wellness centres, spas, and fitness facilities.
“We’ve seen an increase in requests for health and wellness services, particularly from guests who are looking to combine adventure with a sense of personal well-being,” said Raphael Sauleau, CEO of IYC, in an interview with SuperYacht Times. “Whether it’s a yoga session at sunrise or a complete detox programme, superyacht charters now offer holistic experiences.”
Adventure Beyond the Ordinary Superyacht charters aren’t just about lounging in the sun—they’re increasingly about exploring the world in unique ways. Submarines, helicopters, and jet skis are becoming standard on many superyachts, allowing guests to explore remote underwater caves, fly over secluded islands, or dive deep into the ocean to discover marine life. Roberto Giorgi, Chairman Emeritus of Fraser Yachts, noted in an interview with Bloomberg that clients are interested in non-traditional hotspots: “Our clients are looking for unique, often untouched destinations where they can have once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”
Submarines such as the Triton 3300/3, which can dive to depths of 1,000 metres, have become popular on many luxury charters. With the ability to explore underwater ecosystems unseen by most, these submarines offer a sense of adventure and exclusivity that aligns with the expectations of today’s luxury travellers.
For UHNW clients, privacy and personalisation are among the top attractions of superyacht charters. Many clients, especially from regions like the Middle East, highly value discretion. Superyachts offer an unmatched blend of seclusion and luxury, where every aspect of the journey is tailored to the guest’s specific desires.“Privacy is the number one reason our clients choose yacht charters over other luxury travel options,” said Merle Wood, President of Merle Wood & Associates, in an interview with Bloomberg. “They want to escape, and they want to do it in a way that is completely bespoke.” Personalisation extends far beyond the itinerary. With a one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio, guests receive unparalleled attention, from custom shore excursions to spontaneous onboard celebrations. Superyachts offer a flexibility rarely found in traditional luxury travel, allowing guests complete control over their environment and schedule.
As the superyacht industry grows, sustainability has become a key focus. Yacht builders are incorporating eco-friendly designs, such as hydrogen-powered engines and solar technology, in response to clients who are increasingly conscious of their environmental impact. “We’re seeing more interest in eco-friendly yachting from UHNW clients who want to enjoy luxury without compromising the environment,” Giorgi said in an interview with SuperYacht Times. “There’s a growing trend towards yachts that offer incredible experiences but also operate with minimal environmental impact.”
With the Middle East’s marina developments and a rise in interest from international yacht owners, the region is emerging as both a client base and destination for luxury yachting. Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 is transforming the Red Sea into a new playground for luxury travellers, while Dubai and Oman continue to build world-class marinas.
For UHNW individuals, superyacht rentals are the ultimate escape. Offering privacy, bespoke experiences, and unparalleled luxury, these floating resorts redefine travel. From Michelin-star dining to underwater exploration, superyacht charters provide a level of personalisation and exclusivity that is simply unmatched. With global demand on the rise, including in regions like the Middle East, the future of superyacht travel looks bright. With sustainability, adventure, and wellness at the forefront, the industry is set to keep innovating, providing UHNW travellers with the most extraordinary experiences on the high seas.
Navigating Legacy and Innovation: How Middle Eastern Family Businesses are Ensuring Future Success through Strategic Succession Planning
In the Middle East, family businesses form the cornerstone of the region’s economic landscape, driving growth and job creation across various sectors, from luxury retail and hospitality to construction and finance. However, as the world rapidly evolves, family-owned enterprises face a critical challenge: how to ensure smooth leadership transitions while preserving their legacy. Succession planning—once considered a difficult and often postponed conversation—has become a central focus for ensuring longevity and success. With family businesses making up nearly 80% of the private sector in the Middle East, their significance cannot be overstated.
However, research conducted by PwC and KPMG reveals a sobering truth: only about 30% of these businesses survive into the second generation, and just 12% into the third. These figures underscore the need for strategic succession planning, as family businesses grapple with leadership transitions in an increasingly complex and competitive world.
One of the key elements to successful succession planning is strong governance. In recent years, family businesses in the region have increasingly adopted formal governance structures such as family councils, boards of directors, and family constitutions. These frameworks clarify roles and responsibilities, providing transparency in decision-making and helping to manage conflicts before they escalate. “A wellstructured governance system is crucial for any family business, especially when it comes to succession,” noted Dr. Anwar Zibaoui, Regional Director at the Arab Union of Chambers of Commerce, during a family business forum.
“Family governance not only helps define the family’s vision and values but also ensures that leadership transitions are planned and executed smoothly.” The Al-Futtaim Group in the UAE is a prime example of a family business that has successfully navigated multiple generations of leadership. Their formal governance model has allowed the company to grow and diversify while maintaining family control. The creation of family councils and a professional board has ensured that leadership is transferred with minimal disruption, preserving the company’s legacy while adapting to new market realities.
For many family businesses in the Middle East, succession planning is about finding a balance between preserving the family’s values and embracing innovation. Younger generations, who are more familiar with technology and global business practices, are increasingly taking the reins and introducing modern strategies into established frameworks. This blend of tradition and innovation is key to ensuring longevity. “Succession doesn’t mean handing over a business as is,” said Mishal Kanoo, Chairman of the Kanoo Group, during an interview with Gulf Business. “It’s about passing on a legacy that is adaptable to future challenges. The next generation has to bring something new to the table while respecting what has been built before them.” Younger leaders are introducing digital strategies, expanding into new sectors, and integrating sustainability initiatives, ensuring that their businesses not only survive but thrive in a rapidly changing environment. The Kanoo Group, a diversified family-owned business, exemplifies this by incorporating technological advancements into its logistics and shipping services, a move driven by its younger leadership.
A vital aspect of succession planning is preparing the next generation to lead. Many Middle Eastern family businesses are investing in education and mentoring programmes to ensure that younger family members are equipped with both business acumen and leadership skills. A 2022 KPMG report found that 70% of family businesses in the region are developing formal education and mentoring initiatives to prepare future leaders.
“It’s crucial for the younger generation to not only understand the business but also be able to lead with a global mindset,” said Khalid Olayan, Chairman of Olayan Financing Company, during a keynote at a family business summit. “Exposure to international markets, digital transformation, and sustainable practices is necessary to stay competitive.”
Saudi Arabia’s Olayan Group, a global player in sectors ranging from healthcare to real estate, is known for sending its younger family members abroad for education and work experience, ensuring they are prepared to take on leadership roles with a global perspective. By encouraging the next generation to gain experience outside the family business, companies like Olayan are developing well-rounded leaders capable of navigating complex, modern business challenges.
As part of their succession plans, many family businesses are recognising the importance of digital transformation. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the shift toward e-commerce, data-driven decision-making, and AI-powered business processes. In today’s world, businesses that fail to adopt these technologies risk falling behind. The younger generation of leaders, often referred to as digital natives, is championing this change.
“The future of our business depends on our ability to integrate technology into everything we do,” said Riad Kamal, Chairman of Arabtec, in an interview with The National. “Our next generation has been instrumental in pushing for digitisation, and this will ultimately shape the future of the company.”
Jumeirah Group, the luxury hospitality arm of Dubai Holding, is another example of a family business investing heavily in digital transformation. Under the leadership of younger family members, the company has enhanced its customer experience through AI-driven personalisation and digital platforms, making it a leading player in the competitive hospitality industry.
Succession planning is no longer an afterthought for Middle Eastern family businesses—it is an urgent priority. Globalisation, technological advancements, and evolving market dynamics require these businesses to be agile, innovative, and forward-thinking. Those who fail to plan for leadership transitions risk not only losing control but also jeopardising their legacy.
By focusing on governance, innovation, and preparing the next generation, many family businesses in the region are setting the stage for long-term success. As Khalid Olayan rightly pointed out, “Succession isn’t just about passing on wealth; it’s about passing on wisdom and the ability to adapt to a world that’s constantly changing.” In the end, the art of succession planning lies in balancing the preservation of family traditions with the need for innovation and modernisation. The future of the Middle East’s most influential family businesses depends on their ability to stay rooted in their values while embracing the challenges and opportunities of a fast-changing world.
Navigating Legacy and Innovation: How Middle Eastern Family Businesses are Ensuring Future Success through Strategic Succession Planning
Over the past decade, Gulf-based billionaires have significantly reshaped global philanthropy, channelling their vast wealth into initiatives that address pressing global issues. From health and education to environmental conservation, these individuals and families are demonstrating a deep commitment to improving lives both in the region and worldwide. What sets Gulf philanthropy apart is its blend of cultural values, strategic investment, and long-term vision, often inspired by both Islamic principles and a growing sense of global responsibility.
Historically, philanthropy in the Gulf has been closely tied to faith-based giving, such as zakat, a form of almsgiving that is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. However, in recent years, the region’s ultra-wealthy have expanded their focus to tackle some of the world’s most complex issues, investing in long-term, sustainable solutions. According to a report by Badr Jafar, CEO of Crescent Enterprises and a leading voice in Gulf philanthropy, “Philanthropy is no longer just about donating money. It’s about being actively engaged in making a difference, using wealth to leverage change and impact.”
This shift is particularly evident in the healthcare sector. Saudi Arabia’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, one of the world’s most prominent philanthropists, has made major contributions to health and medical research through his Alwaleed Philanthropies, which has funded global projects aimed at combating diseases like malaria and supporting medical infrastructure in underserved regions. Similarly, the Qatar Foundation has invested heavily in global health, including the establishment of Sidra Medicine, a stateof-the-art hospital in Doha focused on women’s and children’s health.
Another major focus of Gulf philanthropy is education, both within the region and globally. Gulf-based billionaires and royal families are increasingly recognizing the transformative power of education in creating sustainable development and addressing inequality. In the UAE, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation has dedicated billions to improving education access, supporting initiatives that promote literacy, scholarships, and leadership programs.
In Saudi Arabia, the Misk Foundation, founded by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, focuses on empowering young people through education and entrepreneurship. Misk’s programs span from supporting digital literacy and STEM education to offering grants for international university placements, thereby equipping the next generation with the skills needed to thrive in a knowledge-driven economy. Beyond the Gulf, Gulf-based philanthropists are making a significant mark on global education. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of Qatar, and his wife Sheikha Moza bint Nasser have supported global education through the Education Above All Foundation, which works to provide access to quality education in conflict zones and underserved regions. The foundation’s global reach is impressive, with projects in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, ensuring that millions of children gain access to basic education.
As global attention shifts towards combating climate change, many Gulf billionaires are increasingly focused on environmental conservation and sustainable energy. The region, which has historically been an oil-rich area, is witnessing a new wave of green initiatives supported by the wealth generated from fossil fuels. This transition highlights a growing recognition of the importance of sustainability in securing a future for generations to come.
One of the most notable initiatives is the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), a research institution in Saudi Arabia focusing on sustainable technology and environmental research. Funded by the Saudi royal family, KAUST is part of a broader effort to diversify the Kingdom’s economy away from oil and invest in renewable energy.
In the UAE, Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, is leading the charge in renewable energy projects across the globe, thanks in part to support from prominent Emirati business figures. Through initiatives such as the Zayed Sustainability Prize, launched in honour of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE government has also incentivized global innovators to develop solutions for sustainability and environmental conservation.
As Gulf billionaires continue to expand their philanthropic reach, the region is positioned to become a significant force in global development. With vast financial resources and a growing network of international collaborations, the Gulf’s ultra-wealthy are poised to leave a lasting impact on global health, education, and environmental conservation.
This new wave of philanthropy is marked by a shift from one-time donations to strategic, long-term investments in sustainable solutions. For instance, Dr. Abdulla Al-Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, notes, “The role of philanthropy is to create systems of change. We’re not just addressing immediate needs; we’re building infrastructures that will have an enduring impact.”
By blending traditional values with modern strategies, Gulf-based philanthropists are reshaping how we think about wealth and its role in society. Their efforts not only address urgent global challenges but also set a standard for how the world’s wealthiest can contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future. As Gulf philanthropy continues to evolve, its potential to drive significant change on a global scale remains immense, making it one of the most exciting developments in the world of global giving.
HRE Development’s AED 30 Million Commitment to Education with Dubai Cares Sets New Standards for Purpose-Driven Real Estate
In a bold new step that merges luxury with philanthropy, HRE Development has announced an AED 30 million commitment to Dubai Cares, with the unveiling of its latest real estate venture, Skyhills Astra. At an exclusive event in Dubai, HRE, one of Dubai’s leading real estate developers, unveiled the project in partnership with Dubai Cares, an initiative under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).
This landmark collaboration, aimed at supporting education for underprivileged children and youth in developing countries, underscores HRE’s commitment to creating lifestyle-driven projects with a purpose.
The event, attended by industry leaders and dignitaries, featured His Excellency Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of the Dubai Land Department, alongside HRE Development’s Chairman, Mohamed Adib Hijazi, and Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, CEO and Vice-Chairman of Dubai Cares. The AED 30 million contribution directly supports Dubai Cares’ global mission to bridge educational gaps and empower future generations.
Skyhills Astra isn’t just a luxurious lifestyle development; it’s a testament to HRE’s vision of “Building with Purpose.” Each apartment owner within Skyhills Astra contributes to Dubai Cares’ educationfocused mission, a visionary approach that offers residents a unique chance to be part of a global initiative. As Mohamed Adib Hijazi stated, “Our vision is not just about building homes but about offering a unique opportunity for homeowners to be part of a larger global mission for children’s education.”
This commitment aligns with the UAE’s national vision, championed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who believes that education and innovation are vital for progress. Through this partnership, HRE Development emphasises its role as an agent of positive change, merging the ideals of luxurious living with meaningful impact.
Skyhills Astra owners will receive a personalised certificate from Dubai Cares, commemorating their role in advancing global education—a thoughtful gesture that speaks to HRE’s dedication to making every resident feel part of this wider purpose. Earlier this year, the developer also pledged 10 units of its Skyhills Residence to the Endowments and Minors’ Affairs Trust Foundation in Dubai, further solidifying its legacy of community commitment and giving back. For Dubai Cares, partnerships like these are crucial to reaching more children and youth worldwide. Dr. Tariq Al Gurg noted, “Collaboration with the private sector amplifies our efforts to address educational disparities... This partnership will significantly
Impact investing has surged in recent years, becoming a powerful movement that combines financial returns with a desire to address pressing social and environmental challenges. This new era of investing, where profit and purpose go hand in hand, has captured the attention of the world’s wealthiest individuals. In the Middle East, in particular, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and family offices are increasingly engaging in global impact investing, driven by both ethical considerations and a growing awareness of the need to create sustainable, positive change.
Impact investing is no longer a niche market. In 2023, the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) estimated the size of the impact investing market at over $1.5 trillion globally, with steady growth year after year. Investors are seeing that it’s possible to generate competitive returns while aligning their portfolios with their values—whether it’s mitigating climate change, supporting social equality, or improving global health.
The Middle East has become a key player in the global impact investing space, driven by both government initiatives and private investors seeking to align their wealth with their personal and cultural values. Countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia are increasingly involved in impact investments, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, healthcare, and education.
“Investors in the region are increasingly aware of the need to build a more sustainable future, and impact investing provides a framework for doing so,” said Ahmed Youssef, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, in a recent panel discussion at the Sustainable Investment Forum MENA. “We’re seeing a growing demand from family offices and sovereign wealth funds to invest in sectors that address global challenges, while also offering financial returns.”
This shift is partly fuelled by a generational change in the region. Younger family members, often educated abroad and exposed to global challenges like climate change and inequality, are pushing for their family wealth to be invested in ventures that have a positive impact. For many, it’s not just about financial growth—it’s about creating a lasting legacy.
While the Middle East is playing a more active role in impact investing, the region’s investors are also looking globally. With the rise of global challenges, from climate change to social inequality, Middle Eastern investors are putting their capital to work in sectors that offer both financial growth and longterm solutions to these pressing issues.
One example is the investment by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) in renewable energy projects across the globe. As part of Saudi Vision 2030, the PIF has prioritised green energy investments to help diversify the Kingdom’s economy and reduce its reliance on oil. This includes major stakes in global solar and wind projects, as well as investments in electric vehicle (EV) companies like Lucid Motors.
“The Middle East is uniquely positioned to lead the global impact investment space,” said Khaled Al-Falih, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, in an interview with Arab News. “By investing in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and social infrastructure, we are aligning our economic growth with global sustainability goals.”
Renewable energy is one of the largest sectors attracting impact investment dollars, particularly in the Middle East, where many investors see the potential to be leaders in transitioning to a more sustainable energy economy. According to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Middle East’s renewable energy market is set to grow by 10% annually through 2030, with significant investments coming from private and public sectors alike.
The healthcare sector is also drawing significant attention, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted gaps in global healthcare systems. In particular, investors from the region have taken an interest in developing innovative healthcare solutions that can be scaled globally. In the UAE, Mubadala Investment Company has invested heavily in healthcare infrastructure both locally and abroad, including a $500 million investment in U.S.-based healthcare technology firms.
“Healthcare and technology are fast-emerging sectors in the global impact investing landscape, and investors from the Middle East are keen to capitalise on that growth,” said Khaldoon Al Mubarak, CEO of Mubadala, in an interview with CNBC. “We’re focused on investing in technologies and healthcare systems that have the potential to improve lives on a global scale.” Other areas of interest include education, financial inclusion, and sustainable agriculture, all of which offer opportunities for Middle Eastern investors to make a significant impact while generating competitive returns.
One of the challenges of impact investing has traditionally been measuring success—not just in terms of financial returns, but also in terms of the positive impact that an investment generates. Investors today are increasingly using sophisticated tools and frameworks, such as the Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS), to track the environmental and social outcomes of their investments.
Many Middle Eastern investors are now adopting these frameworks to ensure that their capital is truly making a difference. As Badr Jafar, CEO of Crescent Enterprises, said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, “Impact investing requires a commitment to both profit and purpose. For us, it’s not just about measuring financial success, but also understanding the tangible impact our investments are having on people and the planet.” There is growing confidence among Middle Eastern investors that impact investing does not require a trade-off between financial performance and social or environmental outcomes. A 2023 survey by GIIN found that 88% of impact investors globally reported that their investments were meeting or exceeding financial expectations, alongside delivering positive impact.
As the global interest in sustainable and responsible investing continues to grow, the Middle East is expected to play an even larger role. With vast resources and a unique position at the intersection of East and West, the region is poised to become a leader in shaping the future of impact investing.
“We’re entering a new era where wealth is not just about financial returns—it’s about contributing to a more sustainable and equitable world,” said Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, during a keynote speech at the Middle East Investment Summit. “Impact investing is here to stay, and regions like the Middle East are going to be key drivers of this movement.” With younger generations in the Middle East increasingly leading the charge and a global recognition that social and environmental challenges need urgent action, the momentum behind impact investing is undeniable. As investors seek to balance profit with purpose, the trend is set to redefine how wealth is built and used, not just in the Middle East, but across the world.
The global surge in impact investing is not just a passing trend—it represents a fundamental shift in how wealth is deployed to tackle the world’s biggest challenges. For wealthy investors in the Middle East, the opportunity to align their investments with their values is becoming a powerful motivator. Whether it’s renewable energy, healthcare innovation, or education, these investors are using their financial power to drive change that benefits both society and the planet. As the global impact investing market continues to grow, it is clear that the future of wealth is about more than just returns—it’s about creating a legacy of positive change.

SAVILE ROW’S RESURGENCE: WHY BESPOKE TAILORING IS BACK IN VOGUE FOR MEN IN LEADERSHIP ROLES
In an age of fast fashion and increasingly casual work environments, bespoke tailoring is experiencing a renaissance. Savile Row, London’s iconic home of tailored menswear, is once again becoming the go-to destination for men who understand the value of a custom-made suit. For those in leadership roles— executives, entrepreneurs, and public figures—bespoke tailoring offers more than just clothing; it offers a statement of power, precision, and individuality.
As more men seek out clothing that reflects their unique style and fits them perfectly, the world of bespoke tailoring has experienced a resurgence. This revival is particularly noticeable among those in leadership positions, where personal presentation is integral to their role. Whether it’s for a boardroom meeting, a public appearance, or simply the daily demands of high-stakes leadership, a well-tailored suit is making a comeback as a symbol of authority and confidence.
While ready-to-wear and off-the-rack clothing have dominated the fashion landscape for decades, bespoke tailoring is experiencing a revival due to its unparalleled quality, fit, and personalisation. Nowhere is this more evident than on Savile Row, a street located in London’s Mayfair district, where master tailors are seeing increased demand from clients around the world. Despite the global trend towards more relaxed dress codes, many men in leadership roles recognise the impact that tailored clothing can have on their image.
“The bespoke suit is not just about fashion; it’s about individuality and craftsmanship,” said Simon Cundey, Managing Director of Henry Poole & Co, one of Savile Row’s most revered tailoring houses, in an interview with The Financial Times. “In today’s world, where everything seems mass-produced, the bespoke experience offers something unique. It’s a statement of personal style and a mark of leadership.”
Savile Row is home to a variety of world-renowned tailors, including Gieves & Hawkes, Norton & Sons, Dege & Skinner, and Huntsman, each of which has a storied history of crafting bespoke garments for highprofile clients. The street’s reputation as the birthplace of bespoke tailoring dates back to the early 19th century, and today it remains a destination for discerning clients from across the globe, who appreciate the craftsmanship and heritage that Savile Row represents.
For men in leadership roles, image matters. Bespoke tailoring offers the kind of refinement and attention to detail that can enhance one’s professional presence. From fabric choices to fit, every aspect of a bespoke garment is designed to reflect the wearer’s character and ambitions.
“Wearing a bespoke suit is a form of self-expression,” said Edward Sexton, one of Savile Row’s legendary tailors, in an interview with GQ. “For men in leadership roles, it’s a way of conveying authority without saying a word. When you walk into a room wearing something that’s been made just for you, you immediately stand out. It gives you confidence and sets the tone for how others perceive you.”
This is particularly relevant for leaders in today’s business landscape, where personal branding is as important as company performance. Tailored clothing offers an opportunity to project a polished, thoughtful image that aligns with professional success. It’s no surprise that many of the world’s most influential men, from political leaders to Fortune 500 CEOs, continue to turn to bespoke tailoring for important events and public appearances.
Savile Row has long been synonymous with the highest level of craftsmanship in menswear, and its tailors are the gatekeepers of this timeless tradition. Every bespoke suit is the result of hours of meticulous work, from the hand-cut patterns to the hand-stitched details that give each garment its structure and form.
One of the reasons bespoke tailoring has endured, even in an era of fast fashion, is because of this focus on quality and craftsmanship. “A bespoke suit is an investment in excellence,” said Kathryn Sargent, the first female master tailor to open her own shop on Savile Row, in an interview with The Guardian. “Our clients appreciate that we’re not just making clothes—we’re creating garments that will last for years, even decades. Each piece is built to fit the individual, with a level of care and attention that can’t be replicated by machines.”
This dedication to craftsmanship has made bespoke tailoring a symbol of luxury and tradition. For men in leadership roles, wearing a Savile Row suit isn’t just about looking good—it’s about embracing a heritage of excellence and aligning oneself with the best in the world.
In addition to the high level of craftsmanship, one of the main reasons why bespoke tailoring is enjoying a resurgence is the personalised experience it offers. Unlike ready-to-wear or even made-to-measure clothing, the bespoke process involves multiple fittings and consultations, allowing the tailor to craft a garment that is truly unique to the wearer.
“Bespoke tailoring is about more than just measurements,” said Joe Morgan of Chittleborough & Morgan, another Savile Row institution, in an interview with The Rake. “It’s a dialogue between the tailor and the client. We get to know our clients—how they stand, how they move, and what they want to project. This allows us to create a suit that not only fits perfectly but also complements their personality and lifestyle.” For leaders who are used to making decisions that affect the future of their businesses or organisations, this level of personalisation is appealing. Bespoke tailoring offers a chance to be involved in the creative process, choosing everything from the fabric and lining to the cut and details of the suit. It’s a way of crafting an image that is entirely their own.
While Savile Row’s reputation is built on tradition, many of its tailors are also embracing modern trends and technologies to stay relevant in today’s fashion landscape. From more relaxed and contemporary cuts to eco-friendly fabrics and sustainable tailoring practices, the bespoke tailoring industry is evolving to meet the needs of the modern man. “We’re seeing more interest in lightweight fabrics, sustainable materials, and modern silhouettes,” said Patrick Grant, Creative Director of Norton & Sons, in an interview with The Telegraph. “Today’s clients are looking for versatility—they want suits that can transition from the boardroom to a more casual setting. We’re adapting our tailoring to meet these needs while maintaining the high level of craftsmanship that Savile Row is known for.” This blend of tradition and innovation is one of the reasons why bespoke tailoring continues to thrive. As men in leadership roles seek to balance classic style with contemporary demands, Savile Row tailors are uniquely positioned to offer the best of both worlds.
As the fashion industry continues to evolve, bespoke tailoring is likely to remain a key player in the wardrobes of modern leaders. The combination of craftsmanship, personalisation, and heritage that Savile Row offers is unparalleled, and for those who value quality and individual style, there’s simply no substitute.
In an increasingly digital and fast-paced world, the slow, meticulous process of bespoke tailoring offers a refreshing alternative. “The demand for bespoke is not going anywhere,” said Simon Cundey. “In fact, we’re seeing more interest from younger clients who appreciate the value of craftsmanship and want to invest in something that’s built to last.” For the modern man in a leadership role, bespoke tailoring offers more than just clothing—it offers a way to stand out, to express individuality, and to embrace the timeless appeal of a well-made suit.

For decades, Bang & Olufsen has been synonymous with luxury audio, renowned for creating high-end sound systems that marry exceptional performance with minimalist, elegant design. The launch of the Beosound Theatre continues this legacy, redefining the home theatre experience with a soundbar that promises an immersive audio environment worthy of the most demanding audiophiles. But it’s not just about sound—this latest offering reflects the brand›s signature Scandinavian aesthetic, making it as much a piece of art as it is a piece of audio equipment. Whether you’re setting up a home theatre to rival the cinema or simply enhancing your living room sound experience, the Beosound Theatre is designed to deliver unparalleled acoustic precision, all wrapped in a sleek, contemporary package. As more luxury buyers look to enhance their homes with premium technology, this new release arrives at the perfect moment.
Bang & Olufsen is no stranger to innovation, and the Beosound Theatre is a testament to the brand’s ability to push boundaries while staying true to its design ethos. The soundbar offers a 7.1.4 surround sound system, creating an incredibly immersive experience that brings movies, music, and games to life. Equipped with 12 speaker drivers, including custom-made woofers, the system generates sound powerful enough to fill any room, while maintaining crystal-clear audio quality.
“We designed the Beosound Theatre with both the audiophile and the aesthete in mind,” said Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen, in a press interview. “It’s not just about creating the most advanced sound technology; it’s about doing it in a way that complements the space it’s in. We want the system to feel like part of the room, not just something that sits in it.”
Unlike many soundbars on the market, which often compromise on aesthetics for functionality, the Beosound Theatre blends seamlessly into its surroundings, offering a modern, understated look. Available in natural wood and fabric finishes, it exudes a warmth that complements the often cold, tech-driven home theatre systems. This combination of cutting-edge technology and timeless design makes it a standout addition to any luxury home.
What sets the Beosound Theatre apart from other high-end sound systems is its attention to acoustic detail. The soundbar is engineered to deliver audio that feels natural, placing you at the centre of the action whether you’re watching the latest blockbuster or listening to a live concert recording. Its RoomSense technology adjusts the sound output based on the room›s acoustics, ensuring that the audio is optimised no matter where the system is installed. “We wanted the Beosound Theatre to create a truly immersive audio experience,” explained Teär. “That means not just loud sound, but precise sound—sound that reacts to the environment, so you always feel like you’re in the middle of the performance.”
The 7.1.4 surround sound configuration includes upward-firing speakers that reflect sound off the ceiling, creating a three-dimensional audio experience. Whether it›s the deep rumble of a car chase or the delicate whispers of dialogue, the Beosound Theatre ensures that every sound is rendered with stunning clarity. And with support for Dolby Atmos, the system elevates sound to a level of realism that’s hard to match.
One of the key features of Bang & Olufsen products is their ability to transcend fleeting trends. While many technology brands release products that look cutting-edge today but outdated tomorrow, the Beosound Theatre is built with longevity in mind. The use of sustainable materials and its modular design allow for customisation, meaning users can upgrade or modify the system as new technologies emerge—making it a truly future-proof investment.
“The world of technology is fast-paced, and often products become obsolete within a few years. We’ve taken a different approach,” said Teär. “With the Beosound Theatre, we wanted to create a system that lasts both in terms of style and functionality. It’s a timeless piece that will stay relevant for years to come.”
The modular design also allows the soundbar to be paired with other Bang & Olufsen speakers, expanding the system into a complete home theatre setup. Whether you prefer a minimalist arrangement or a more elaborate setup, the Beosound Theatre can be tailored to fit your needs. The oak wood lamella design, reminiscent of Scandinavian architecture, adds an organic touch that contrasts beautifully with the tech-forward features of the system.
With more people investing in home entertainment setups, the demand for high-quality sound systems has never been higher. The Beosound Theatre is designed to meet this demand, offering a cinematic audio experience in the comfort of your own home. For film lovers, the ability to hear the faintest detail—the rustling of leaves, the subtle movement of a character’s clothing—adds a new layer of immersion that rivals even the best commercial cinemas.
But it’s not just for movie nights. The Beosound Theatre is equally adept at delivering exceptional sound for music and gaming. With its multi-room connectivity, users can sync the soundbar with other Bang & Olufsen products throughout the house, ensuring high-quality sound in every room. “The ability to create a cinema-like experience at home is becoming increasingly important to our customers,” explained Teär. “But they also want versatility. The Beosound Theatre is more than just a sound system for movies; it’s a hub for all your entertainment needs, whether you’re listening to music, gaming, or just watching TV.”
Bang & Olufsen has always been a brand that prioritises both form and function, and the Beosound Theatre is no exception. For those looking to elevate their home theatre setup—or simply want to add a touch of luxury to their living space—this sound system is a game-changer. Combining stunning audio performance with Scandinavian design principles, the Beosound Theatre sets a new standard for high-end home audio. Whether you’re a cinephile seeking the best in immersive sound, or a design enthusiast looking for a sound system that complements your home’s aesthetic, the Beosound Theatre offers the perfect blend of both worlds. This isn’t just a soundbar—it’s a statement piece that redefines what home audio can be.

One of the most talked-about features is its Triple Resolution Technology, which allows users to choose between 36 ,60, or -18megapixel output depending on their needs. This flexibility makes the camera perfect for travel photography, where different scenes and settings may require varying levels of detail. According to an interview with Dr Andreas Kaufmann, Chairman of Leica Camera AG, in Leica Rumors, “This adaptability ensures that photographers can always achieve the best results without sacrificing quality or versatility.” The M-11P also offers an impressive dynamic range and improved low-light performance, allowing photographers to capture the world in all its beauty, even in challenging lighting conditions. Whether you’re shooting a sunset in the Sahara or a dimly lit alleyway in Tokyo, the M-11P ensures that every shot is as stunning as the moment itself.
For the modern traveller, a camera must be more than just a tool—it must be an extension of the journey itself. The Leica M-11P has been designed with travel in mind, offering both the portability and functionality needed for capturing fleeting moments on the go. Weighing just over 500 grams, the M-11P is remarkably lightweight for a full-frame camera, making it easy to carry without adding bulk to a traveller’s gear. Its intuitive design allows for quick adjustments, ensuring that users can focus on the experience rather than fiddling with settings. “Leica has always been about capturing the moment with ease and precision, and the M-11P continues that tradition,” says Matt Stuart, renowned street photographer and Leica ambassador, in an interview with DPReview. “It’s the perfect camera for travel photography—discreet, reliable, and capable of delivering world-class images in any environment.” Another standout feature for travellers is the camera’s extended battery life, with the M-11P offering %64 more battery capacity than its predecessor, the M-10P. Additionally, it includes USB-C charging, allowing for easy recharges on the go, a critical advantage for those exploring remote locations where power outlets are scarce.
Owning a Leica is about more than just the camera itself—it’s about the entire photographic experience. Leica users, often referred to as “Leica enthusiasts,” are part of a global community of discerning photographers who appreciate the brand’s commitment to quality and artistry. The M-11P continues to uphold this tradition, offering users not just a piece of equipment but a tool that encourages them to slow down, observe, and capture moments with purpose. “When you use a Leica, you’re engaging with the world differently,” said Alan Schaller, a Leica photographer and co-founder of the Street Photography International collective, during an interview with Leica Blog. “You’re not just snapping photos; you’re composing images that tell a story. The M-11P is a camera that invites you to be more intentional in your photography.”
In a world where most travellers rely on smartphones to capture their adventures, the Leica M-11P offers a refreshing alternative. This camera is for those who value craftsmanship, precision, and the artistry of photography. With its cutting-edge technology, unparalleled image quality, and sleek design, the M-11P is not just a camera—it’s an investment in capturing memories with style and sophistication. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or an enthusiastic traveller looking to elevate your travel photography, the Leica M-11P offers the perfect balance of form and function, making it the ultimate camera for the modern explorer.
