Toledo by Fratelli Rossetti is a unique hand-colouring technique. Vegetable tannins in a wide range of colours are applied to untreated calfskin leather using a special buffing treatment while the shoes are on the mould. Fratelli Rossetti master craftsmen use this dyeing technique to enhance the natural texture and shadows in the leather, resulting in a glossy and refined look. Every shoe is a unique piece of craftsmanship that reflects the shoemaker’s timeless knowledge and Fratelli Rossetti’s legacy of quality shoemaking. Toledo is also available as a made-to-order service. Five men’s styles
and three women’s styles can be

personalised with any of the Toledo shades – choose from a rich colour palette built over time by masters of the hand-painting technique. The made-to-order experience embodies a colourful and playful attitude, combining personal self-expression with the utmost skills of Fratelli Rossetti’s craftsmen, to create footwear that will fit well within the most sophisticated closets. Discover the Toledo madeto-order service at the Fratelli Rossetti Milan boutique on Via Montenapoleone. The service is also available at Fratelli Rossetti flagship stores in Rome, Paris, Brussels, Antwerp and New York.

Italy is famous across the world not only for the beauty of its landscapes and its artistic treasures, but also for its wine and food. Its unique geographic location and topography, along with the climate, make it the country with the widest agricultural biodiversity in the world. This has informed and enriched local food and recipes for centuries. For this reason, Eataly is dedicating its presence at Expo Milano 2015 to Italian biodiversity, with an area named ‘The answer

is blowing in the wind’. There are two large pavilions, each covering 4,000 square metres, and 20 restaurants dedicated to the various regions of Italy; each month they will host different high-class chefs and traditional taverns, showing visitors all aspects of true Italian cookery. It represents a rare opportunity for visitors to Milan to experience Italian food as well as the many other beauties of the country, from the artistic heritage to the gorgeous landscapes.

Floral explosions, romance and contrast provide the principal themes for TwinSet Simona Barbieri’s 2015 spring/summer collection ‘A thousand expressions and more’ is the motto behind TwinSet Simona Barbieri’s charming spring/summer collection, which combines floral patterns with emotive shades and charismatic prints. Chic natural tones contrast with strong colours, while the workmanship and selection of materials celebrate movement and offer unique surface effects. A long, retrostyle dress that encompasses fringing, strong colours and

three-dimensional appliqués is one of the collection’s standouts. In other pieces, elegant roses feature on silk and georgette, in both defined and watercolour styles, while more abstract motifs create intricate, artistic multicoloured effects when applied to exquisitely crafted dresses and knitwear. A polkadot macro print in the neutral new Chantilly shade is playful and chic at the same time, perfect when paired with dark denim. Stripes in various forms and dynamic pinstripes offer a geometric touch to a collection that interprets timeless designs in new and original ways.

Luxury children’s clothing brand Il Gufo celebrates the idea of ‘children dressed as children’, creating functional and fashionable clothing for boys and girls from birth to 14 years old. The brand began as a small artisanal project in the 1980s when founder Giovanna Miletti created handmade bibs for her young children. Today, Il Gufo is an international success story, available in stores around the world, but the same level of focus on

quality and craftsmanship still exists. At every stage of the production process, from fabric selection and design through to manufacturing, which is still done by hand, great care is taken to ensure the child’s comfort and wellbeing and to produce a high-quality garment. Il Gufo uses almost exclusively natural fibres and carefully selected fabrics, which are specially dyed with highly imaginative colours and finished with refinement.

Milan-born rapper Fedez stars as the new face of Sisley’s spring/summer campaign. This season, Italian male and female fashion brand Sisley introduces Sisleystories, an imaginary ‘visual interview’ with celebrity rapper Fedez, where the answers to a series of questions are the images themselves. Providing a central theme to Sisley’s spring/summer collection, the images complement a clothing range designed to appeal to multifaceted, contrasting personalities,

Sisley, Piazza San Babila, 20122 Milan, +39 02 763881, sisley.com

with an enthusiasm for an unconventional lifestyle. Fedez is the stage name of Federico Leonardo Lucia, a musician, producer and artist known for his inquiring mind and clever use of irony and irreverence. He is without doubt Italy’s media personality of the year, and his unique sartorial style is urban, fast-moving and rebellious, just like Sisley’s clothing collections. He stars in the campaign with his real-life girlfriend Giulia Valentina – the couple epitomise the modern and youthful aesthetic appeal of this popular fashion brand.

HOW TO GET TO EXPO 2015

The Expo Milano 2015 exposition site is located just northwest of Milan, a few kilometers from the city centre. The area is directly connected to the city’s three airports, and main public transportation lines, affording easy access for visitors. By metro: To reach the Expo site by underground (metro), purchase an ‘extraurbano’ ticket, and take Linea 1 Rossa (Red line 1) to Rho Fiera Milano station. Duomo and Cadorna stations are on Line 1, where they connect to the city’s other underground lines. By train (suburban and regional services): The new Rho Fiera Expo Milano 2015 railway station connects regional railway lines to Milan’s metro lines. To reach the Expo site by train from either Stazione Centrale or Stazione Garibaldi in Milan, simply follow the signs for Rho Fiera Milano station. Regional train services from Arona, Domodossola, Varese and Turin will also stop at Rho Fiera Milano station. By High-Speed train: The High-Speed train (Treno Alta Velocità) offers direct connections to the Expo site from Torino, Bologna and Firenze, via a new station at Porta Ovest. This station offers direct access to the Rho Fiera Milano underground station. By road: Three main highways are connected to the Expo:
The A4 Turin-Milan-Venice, the A8/A9 Milan-Como-Chiasso and the Milan-Varese; as well as the ring-road (Tangenziale Ovest) that joins the A1 motorway connecting Milan to Rome and Naples. expo2015.org
