The Black Belt is the highest color belt in TaeKwonDo. Black symbolizes the combination of all colors of the universe, which we see as black. From black all colors originate and spring up to create the lively rainbow. The Black Belt is the beginning of true achievement, understanding and wisdom, blending the mind and the body into one, into a unity within oneself and the universe.

Rotate hands in and up as you grab attackers left wrist with left hand
Release right hand as you push elbow forward
Place right hand on the back of attackers hand
Turn right hand to the right as you step back Ki-hap
Two hand wrist grab
Place your hands together
Bring your hands up and to the left in a circular motion
Step in with left foot as you grab wrist with right hand and lock elbows
Apply pressure on attackers top elbow by pulling right arm up Ki-hap
Cross wrist grab
Grab attackers wrist with left hand
Step under attackers arm with right leg
Step through with left leg and apply pressure to shoulder
Left leg front kick to face Ki-hap

Once a student knows all of the material in this guide, they should pick up a test form to prepare for the philosophical (written) portion of the belt exam. Students may only test with the instructors permission.
