American journalist Christopher Miller visited the territory, which is controlled by the separatists, and talked to Ukrainian soldiers. 28-year-old Ruslan Tynkalyuk – a fighter from the battalion “Donbass”. If I did not go to the war, I would stay at home now with his family in Ivano-Frankivsk and enjoy the autumn in the Carpathian Mountains. But he is here as a prisoner of the war, under the strict supervision of the prorussian terrorist. After that, when he and other 70 soldiers of the battalion “Donbass” were captured in August, Ruslan is dealing with the various hard works, mainly repairs homes, destroyed due to the fightings in Ilovaysk. In the war he is a volunteer and considers himself “a lucky man”, hundreds of his colleagues were killed near Ilovaysk. The prisoners in Ilovaysk live in the dark basements. Men cannot communicate with the outside world. They sleep on dirty mattresses, where the insects are swarming, right on the floor. They get up early in the morning to revive the ruined buildings, and they are released only at night to have some rest. Andriy, one of the leaders of terrorists, talks about a comfort, in which they keep the prisoners, he says that they have access to the showers and toilets and even a TV where you can watch romantic comedy movies, besides patriotic. He even offered a cigarette to one of the prisoners. “We’re not monsters,” - Andriy said. Each prisoner has one set of clothes. They do not change the socks and underwear. Coats, not very warm, were given only when the frosts came. Oleksiy, another prisoner, to whom the terrorist gave a cigarette, says that the prisoners are fed three times a day, but mostly with bread, a cold porridge and a watery soup. “This is very few, but still better than nothing.” Another prisoner, Maxim, says that all the time he is thinking about today, in order not to get crazy. Also he says that he hopes for the best and that soon he will be released. “We just survive,” - he says. - “We eat, sleep and work. And we hope that at one moment we will be released. What else can we do?” “At first it was very difficult. I was thinking about how to commit suicide”, - he says. But now, he says he feels better, though it is a pity to him that he is kept as a prisoner in his own country, by his own countrymen. The prisoners are not allowed to communicate with their families, so Ruslan Tynkalyuk, like others, did not communicate with anybody from August. He asked the journalist to let his family to know that he is alive. When they showed his photos to the relatives, his brother’s wife burst into tears. “We saw him last time in May, and when he will return home, we will embrace him and we will never let him go.”
THE RUSSIAN MERCENARIES SHELLED THE GROUP OF PEOPLE FOR WATER IN AVDIYIVKA: FOUR PERSONS WERE KILLED, SEVEN WERE WOUNDED. 4 people were killed and 7 injured due to the shelling of Avdiyivka in Donetsk.
