NEAR MARIUPOL ONE COMMANDER OF THE “DONETSK PEOPLE REPUBLIC” THREATENED TO MURDER THE OBSERVERS OF OSCE. The OSCE reported that during a visit to the checkpoint near Mariupol, which is not under the control of the Ukrainian authorities, a team of international observers was subjected to threats. A field commander of one of the units of the “DPR” threatened to kill the members of the mission in case of disobedience of his orders. According to his words, the reason for such a reaction was the undermining of a military truck, where two terrorists were killed and another one was wounded. We remind, that any threats to the lives of the OSCE members is a flagrant violation of the international law and Minsk agreements. www.euroleader.in.ua

2 TOPIC OF THE ISSUE:
EUROLEADER 2014 THE HUMAN RIGHTS SITUATION IN THE EASTERN UKRAINE IS CRITICAL, BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION.
The problem of the human rights protection in the eastern Ukraine on today’s agenda is extremely serious and for its solution requires the unification of the human rights defenders, the efforts of the civil society, the international community, MPs and authorities. Unfortunately, the human rights organizations and some human rights defenders in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are actually destroyed by the terrorists, and those who work are critically in need of support. Due to the catastrophic situation in Slavyansk of the Donetsk region since the beginning of 2015 the “Slavyansk Human Rights Resource Center” works, organized by the NGO “Euroleader” with the support of National Endownment for Democracy (NED), which provides free legal assistance on human rights and support to human rights defenders from the East Ukraine. The human rights situation was worsen by 4 totalitarian laws, adopted on 12-14th of August 2014 by the Parliament and signed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. These interrelated laws in complex restrict and deprive the citizens of their rights and freedoms, violate the Constitution of Ukraine, norms and principles of the international law. In this connection the NGO “Euroleader” together with the Coalition “Democracy in Action” had made the campaign on the abolishment of four laws with the support of Lifeline and SILC. The human rights defenders Andrey Drevitskiy and Andrey Kiselev had a meeting with a group of MPs, where they discussed the difficult situation of the human rights in the eastern Ukraine, the necessity to make the amendments to 4 totalitarian laws, the provision by MPs the practical help in a search of the missing people in the eastern Ukraine. After the meeting the MPs announced their readiness to take an active part in the common work with the NGO “Euroleader”.

DZHEMILEV: NOW THE HUMAN RIGHTS SITUATION IN THE CRIMEA IS WORSE THAN UNDER THE SOVIET REGIME. The current situation of human rights in Crimea is worse than it was under the Soviet regime. This statement was made by the former head of the Medjlis, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev in New York after a meeting of the UN Security Council on the Crimea. “The human rights violations in the Crimea now are flashy and exceed the violations that had occurred in the former Soviet space by the Soviet regime,” – Dzhemilev said. Despite the criminality of the totalitarian Soviet regime, “then at least they did not secretly abduct and kill people, now this happens.” What is very disturbing is that “the crimes are committed not by the criminals, but by those, who must enforce the human rights, by those, who now rule in the Crimea at the head of the so-called prime-minister Aksenov.” This persecution will last as long as the occupation continues, “because the occupants will always prosecute people, who defend their human dignity and the right to release their territory”. The leader of the Crimean Tatar people urged the international community, especially the UN, to direct the efforts “to take such effective measures that will allow to free the territory from the occupation without any military action.” These are the efforts to protect the world order”, Mustafa Dzhemilev said.
RUSSIAN “AUTHORITIES” IN THE CRIMEA REFUSES TO RE-REGISTER THE TV CHANNEL ATR.

The Russian authority of control over the Media “Roskomnadzor” refused or delayed the requests of TV channel ATR to re -register, which should be completed by 1st of April. Since March 2014 after the Russian annexation of the peninsula the journalists, who write and talk about it, are attacked, detained and subjected to interrogations, they had the raids of security services in their editorial offices, and the news were taken off the TV broadcasting. WIFE OF A “CYBORG”: IN THE CAPTIVITY THEY BEAT ME NOT LESS THAN MEN. (IN UKRAINE THEY CALL UKRAINIAN SOLDIERS “CYBORGS”). Wife of a “cyborg” Anatoliy Svyryd, who saved the surviving soldiers in the Donetsk airport, Oksana went to take her husband, who had been captured by the terrorists. She also was captured by the terrorists. These days the couple Svyryd was freed. They came back to Kyiv and told what had happened to them during this time. According to Oksana words, in the captivity the terrorists beat her not less than men. They wound my hands with a scotch tape and took me to the questioning. There, as you understand, they were not very kind to me. For the separatists it is not important you are a man or a woman. As they declare there are not women in the war. Thus, I was beaten not less than men. The first questioning lasted several hours. Then they took us to another place and again they began another questioning, this time more severe. The terrorists knew that my husband was a “cyborg”, but nevertheless they continued to question me. And when I responded, they beat me for this. After the second questioning it was difficult to recognize me – I had bruises and swellings on my face - Oksana told. Oksana and the friends of Anatoliy Svyryd were kept in one of the buildings in Gorlivka. In the solitary confinement it was very cold. They brought me some food, but I could not eat it. I ate only water and bread. Once the guards saw that I did not eat anything and brought me some cookies and candies. So it lasted 11 days. Then we were taken to one apartment. There at last we had a shower and a toilet - Oksana said. These days, “the officer corps” coped to release from the terrorist captivity the friends of Anatoliy Svyryd, who together with Oksana went to search him. They are all already at home. Anatoliy is being intensively treated to recover faster. Doctors say he is very good at it.

EUROLEADER 2014 IN THE ATO AREA UKRAINIAN MILITARY JOURNALIST IS KILLED.
In the ATO area Ukrainian military journalist Dmytro Labutkin is killed. I got a tragic and sad news: my colleague, friend and a group mate Lieutenant-Commander Dmytro Labutkin was found in the Dnipropetrovsk morgue . An officer, a patriot and a true citizen of his country, he was killed during the fightings in Debaltseve - the editor of the social policy department of the publication “Fleet of Ukraine Captain-Lieutenant Vitaly Panchyshyn wrote. Until the end, I was hoping that Dmytro was alive, despite the videos of the separatists, who a month ago with cynical arrogance and contempt had shown the documents of Dmytro and paraded them in front of the camera.
