Welding isn’t as intimidating as you might think! Learn the basic principles of MIG welding, a process in which an electric arc forms between a wire electrode and metal, causing them to melt and join together. At the conclusion of the workshop, leave with a miniature metal sculpture.

WELDING WITH FOUND OBJECTS with Brian Glaze

Saturday June 10 9am-3pm

Explore the art of welding with metal found objects in this one-day workshop. Starting with a visit to a local scrap yard, you will learn how to identify weldable metals for your project. After a lunch break, use a MIG welder and other related hand tools to create your own found object sculpture. Be prepared to walk in an industrial setting; gloves and boots/ work shoes are highly advised. Welding Basics or equivalent experience is necessary to ensure your success in this class.
