Sygun Copper Mine offers a rare opportunity for those with a sense of adventure and curiosity, to experience for themselves the wonders of an historic copper mine.
Discover what it was like to be a copper miner in the Victorian times, experience first hand their working conditions and marvel at how they extracted the copper ore using only simple tools and candle light.
Adventure Underground... Our self-guided audio-visual tours allow you to explore the old workings on foot. There are winding tunnels and large, colourful chambers and caverns with magnificent stalactite and stalagmite formations and copper ore veins which contain traces of gold, silver and other precious metals.
After venturing underground, sit back and relax with a freshly ground coffee and cake and browse our well stocked Gift Shop while the children let off steam in the playground.
Essential Information! Sygun Copper Mine’s underground adventure involves a walk through Caverns and winding tunnels accessing three different levels of the mine. The temperature underground is cool and the floor uneven and wet in places so please wrap up warm and wear suitable footwear.
