Production Staff Bios
Ms. Ellen Abood (Choreographer) is very excited to be working on her first production here at GDA. She is currently a Sophomore at the Catholic University of America and is pursuing her Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre. She would love to thank the cast and everyone involved for making her first GDA experience a memorable one. Mr. Paul Buckley ‘86 (Producer, Director - Godspell) is thrilled to be back behind the director’s chair to direct one of his favorite shows. And he still gets to produce it. along with one of his favorite comedies ever in Arsenic and Old Lace. Since he can’t possibly top the fun he has had these past two months, he doesn’t see ever trying this again. :) To Allan, Matt and Meghan - thank you for your support. He is unbelievably grateful to his Godspell team of Marika, Ellen and Will - who helped bring this wonderful message to you. His cast is awesome - he loves them all. He loves his Arsenic cast too, even if he does feel somewhat like an absentee father. Speaking of which, he is most grateful to his wife Monica, and his kids for the missed dinners and games so he could do this special production. You are the light of his world. This production is dedicated to his former teacher, producer, director and mentor, John C. Warman. Mr. William H. Clemens (Associate Producer) is a GDA alum (‘10) who came back for more. And boy did he get some! He is so proud of the casts and crew, shout out to house crew, and can’t wait for the audience’s experience. Also, thanks Mr. Buckley, Mr. L’Etoile, Mrs. Goldsmith, and Mr. Duffy for being such amazing mentors and putting up with his generally confused movement forward. Also, Ellen and Marika are super talented, for the record. Enjoy the show!!! Ms. Marika Countouris (Music Director - Godspell) is thrilled to be back at GDA! She is a junior Musical Theatre major at the Catholic University of America where she has assisted in musical direction for Unlimited, A Review of Stephen Schwartz, A Frank Loesser Review performed at the Kennedy Center, and Godspell. This summer she served as the Music Directing Intern at Montgomery College’s Summer Dinner Theater for their productions of A Funny Thing… and Legally Blonde. She also was the Music Director and Co-Creator of a Beatles Cabaret entitled, All You Need Is Love and a Miscast Cabaret entitled Raise Your Voice. Marika serves as Music Director in Residence for CenterStage, the student run theater company at CUA. She is also thrilled to be working with The GDA Family as Music Director in the spring for Hairspray. Finally, Marika would like to thank Ellen and Mr. Buckley for bringing this beautiful score to life on stage through beautiful story telling.
Mr. Matthew Duffy (Technical Director): “Back in the day when I worked as a carpenter, my most annoying interaction was with the truck driver employed by our wood supplier. In the middle of the day he would double-park his 18-wheeler on Georgia Avenue, then defiantly (and repeatedly) inform us that he only drove the truck, he didn’t unload the truck. Staggering under the weight of thick mahogany slabs, I dreamt of the day that I too could be as lazy as this paragon of work ethic. I am happy to report that I was able to achieve this worthy goal during the construction of this set. I purposely channeled my inner teamster and did not do a lick physical labor for this set. 100% of what you see before you was figured out, constructed, and “made nice” by Stage Crew members - only one of which is old enough to vote. To hit the point of their awesomeness home, they constructed this set from a photograph (not plans) while simultaneously incorporating a new system of flats dreamt-up by Koko our Stage Manager. I hope you enjoy watching the actors on set as much as I enjoyed watching Stage Crew build the set!” Mrs. Meghan Goldsmith (Producer) is beginning her 15th season as a member of the production staff, and is still thrilled beyond measure every day to be part of this incredible family. Memorable shows include Singin’ in the Rain ‘99, 42nd Street ‘02, Guys and Dolls ‘06, West Side Story ‘08, Kiss Me, Kate ‘11 and Fiddler ‘14. Thank you to Paul, Allan, Matt, Marika, Ellen and Will for being wonderful colleagues, creators and friends, and a heartfelt congratulations to this group of students, especially to the seniors and GDA veterans, on a job very well done. Finally, thanks are always in order to her amazing husband Dan, and the two brightest stars in her world, Matthew and Kate. Mr. Allan L’Etoile ‘73, HoF ‘12 (Director - Arsenic), godfather to Kate Goldsmith, has the best job in the world, working with young actors. He hopes they’ve had a lot of fun doing Arsenic, and he thanks, especially, his wife and dog for missing him evenings when he’s at rehearsal.
Good luck Clay! We can’t wait to see Godspell and can’t believe this is your last year of Gonzaga shows! It has gone by way too fast! Love you!! Mom, Dad, Brigitte & David

Andrew Allan (Oficer Klein) is working vigorously on training an entire orchestra of chimpanzees. However, very little progress has been made since he’s been practicing for Arsenic.
Hannah Barnes (Martha Brewster) is a senior at Bishop Ireton. She thanks Mr. L’Etoile for giving her a chance and Maddie Kovach for everything else.
Cate Biegun (Stage Crew) is thrilled to take part in her irst GDA production. A third generation GDA member, she learned that paint on a uniform is permanent. Samuel Biegun (Stage Crew) is excited to be on stage crew for these productions. He hopes you enjoy them.
It has been three years since Tommy Boyce (Disciple) has graced the Gonzaga Theatre with his presence and his critically acclaimed turn as Ensemble in Fiddler on the Roof (citation needed.) Four shows later, he quadrupled his workload for Godspell and added a song to his repertoire. He would to thank his voice teacher Carol, and his parents for all their support.
Junior Patrick Brockwell (Asst. House Manager) is over-joyed to inally be allowed to wear a blazer during performances due to his new role of Assistant House Manager alongside his dearest companion and teammate, The Honorable Douglas Sarasin. That is it, and thank you for your unending support of the house crew. Shouts to BPM_the1st.

She’d like to thank her family and friends <3 Mateusz Gierdalski (Sound & A/V Manager) is very excited to be a part of the Godspell and Arsenic shows. Being the Sound and A/V manager, Mateusz has been given a tall order by Mr. Buckley with the new mics, which made him squeal in silence. So cut him slack.
Maddy Giuliani (Stage Crew) is a freshman at Visitation. She is glad to have helped with the set of her irst GDA production.
Margot Giuliani (Stage Crew) is a junior at Visitation. She is so excited to participate in her irst year of stage crew at Gonzaga! She thanks everyone for coming. Benjamin Gossart (Disciple) is thrilled to be in his third GDA production! He would like to thank his incredibly talented cast mates and the production team for their hard work. ¡Vosotros sois la luz del mundo! Benjamin Hadinger (Assistant Stage Manager) conducted a double-blind observational study of students exposed to both stage crew and actors. After correlating their subsequent test scores and correcting for biases due to wind speed and moon phase, Ben noticed the shift linkage in his 4x4 was rattling and decided to do something more important, but only after a water break. Dalia Hamilton (Disciple) is so excited to be in her ifth show with Gonzaga. She can’t wait for everyone to see the show, especially since she’s singing her mom’s favorite song from Godspell, and she hopes you all love the show. ABUSES.

Finn Kirvan (Loft Crew) is really excited to be in the crew for these plays. This is his irst production on the GDA stage.
Bios usually begin immediately with the name of a GDA member, but senior Jonathan Kokotajlo (Stage Manager) wanted to try something slightly different for this fall, his 7/8th GDA productions. Remember: “A man with one watch knows what time it is; a man with two watches is never quite sure.” ~Lee Segall. Shout out to people wondering what the opposite of ‘in’ is. Maddie Kovach (Disciple) is thrilled to be in her irst GDA show! She wants to thank Mr. Buckley, Ellen, Marika, the crew and her lovely cast. Stephanie Lushniak (Oficer O’Hara) is amazed she made it to her fourth show at Gonzaga! She’d like to thank the cast of Arsenic and Godspell, Mr. L’Etoile, the stage crew, and her family for helping her with the show and with the beginning of junior year. Anthony Maddox (Mr. Gibbs), a sophomore, is really psyched to do his irst play, Arsenic & Old Lace and get to know his fellow actors in the GDA.
Peter Marcou (Mortimer) would like to use this opportunity to tell you just how devoted he is to helping his community. In addition, he also challenges himself with high level classes and spends his time after school helping tutor students in the grades below him. He also---wait, is this not a college essay? Oh. In that case, disregard all of this. None of it is true.
Matthew McDonnell (Teddy Brewster) is glad to be in his 6th show with the GDA. He would like to thank his parents for their support. She is grateful for everyone’s support and looks forward to Gonzaga theater in the years to come. Yili Quinlan (Stage Crew) enjoyed picking things up and putting them down during his irst year on stage crew. “wubalubadubdub!”
Sarah Riley (Stage Crew) is excited to be participating in her irst production with Gonzaga. She would especially like to thank all the friends that convinced her to join stage crew.
Maddie Rizzo (Disciple), a senior at Visitation, returns to GDA after a groundbreaking performance as Featured Dancer in Footloose. Tonight, she’s ready for a new role, of Biblical proportions.
Doing the work is what we do here at stage crew. As always, Matthew Seay (Asst. Light Manager) has enjoyed being able to help put something together. Not to be mistaken with his older brother, Matthew is the one without curly hair. Know this about him... Matt enjoys most every set. This is Mike Seay’s (Loft Manager) 7th show since he wandered into the theater by accident in 2012 and was too embarrassed to admit that he was just lost. He’s been on stage crew ever since, living a lie, praying every day for freedom.
