Dear Gonzaga Families and Friends, On behalf of the Gonzaga Mothers Club, welcome to the thirty-fourth annual Christmas Gala, Miracle on Eye Street. Tonight we celebrate the spirit, traditions, and fellowship that we believe make Gonzaga such a special school. Enjoy this festive evening and join in the bidding as we generously support our beloved school by raising funds for our sons and the Gonzaga community. Thank you to our Miracle Maker, True Believer, and Kris Kringle Sponsors, Gala Underwriters, and many families and friends who have given so generously to fill our auction with exciting items. Take a look at the beautiful program with wonderful ads supporting the Gala. Our Gala is a gift given by so many volunteers from the Gonzaga Mothers Club through months of creativity, hard work, and commitment. We are sincerely grateful to our amazing 2015 Gala Chairs, Tahneena Barron and Ana Rivas-Beck, for their leadership in making this an exceptional evening for the entire Gonzaga community. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our fabulous team of dedicated and enthusiastic Committee Chairpersons and volunteers who have devoted many hours to preparing for this event. We are profoundly thankful for your devotion to our school. Tonight, we are surrounded by dazzling decorations, exciting auction donations, delicious food and drink, and the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company while we raise funds for our school. We hope that you will be delighted and inspired by the fantastic items and unique experiences available and that you will bid often to support Gonzaga! Thank you for being our guest this evening, as we create our own Miracle on Eye Street! The spirit that shines throughout Gonzaga tonight, and every day, is a special one. We are very blessed to be part of this dedicated community. With warmest wishes for an enjoyable evening and a very Merry Christmas, Suzanne Dowd President, Gonzaga Mothers Club 2015-2016

December 5, 2015 Dear Gonzaga Community, We are delighted to bring to you Miracle on Eye Street, the 34th Annual Gonzaga Gala. It is truly a miracle that Gonzaga mothers and families can make such an event a reality. Without the endless hours of service by all our volunteers, this could not happen. With today’s families stretched so thin by the demands of every day life, so many of you found the time to make this Gala a great event. We could not have done this without you. Along the way, we have made wonderful new friends, and we will be sad to lose the daily contact with so many of you. However, we hope these connections and ties will remain beyond tonight. We would also like to thank the school’s administration and staff for their support and assistance. Without you, we couldn’t be here. And finally, our boys—they are what bring us here and what make us want to do more for the school and community. Gonzaga – where miracles are made through hard work and dedication! Best, Tahneena Barron and Ana Rivas-Beck

Giving Opportunities
The Father McKenna Center Table in the Carmody Center Established in 1983 by St. Aloysius Parish to carry on the legacy of Fr. Horace B. McKenna, the saintly associate pastor of St. Al’s, who dedicated his ministry to the service of the poor and marginalized in the community, the Father McKenna Center is proud to count Gonzaga College High School and the Gonzaga Mothers Club as vital partners in our work to serve the homeless and very low income families who rely on us each day. The Father McKenna Center operates a Day Shelter for men struggling with homelessness, serving 100+ men daily. We offer basic services (food, clothing, mail, etc.) to entice the men to engage our case managers so they can move to the right next step. The Center provides a Hypothermia Program (November to March) to provide a warm bed for 18-20 men. We also operate a Food Pantry serving 200+ families each month, offering quality fresh produce, bread, milk, eggs, meat and an array of nonperishable foods. Today Gonzaga students serve in our Food Pantry – helping us meet the needs of 200+ families from the neighborhoods around Gonzaga find the groceries they need to feed themselves – and in our Day Shelter program – serving Midday Meal to 50+ men struggling with homelessness. The Gonzaga Mothers’ Club provides dinner each evening for our Hypothermia Program that provides 18-20 men a safe and secure place to stay through the winter, while they work to secure a job, a transitional or permanent place to live or other “right next step” for them. How Can You Help? • Volunteer – our small staff (of 7) always needs people to help serve a meal, help in the Food Pantry, in our Clothing distribution program or in myriad other ways. • Sign up to be part of the Gonzaga Mothers Club Hypothermia Program by providing or serving dinner to the men. Check on the Gonzaga Mothers Club webpage under the McKenna Center tab for more information. Please visit our table in the Carmody Center, so we can say “Thank You!” and to receive a special memento from the Father McKenna Center team.

Giving Opportunities
The Gonzaga Christian Service Program Each year, Gonzaga students enjoy a breadth of opportunities for service, deepening their commitment to social justice and fulfilling their call to discipleship. Following the retirement of Sr. Seton Cunneen at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, the Campus Ministry office now continues the tradition of service that she fostered so passionately. The school’s Christian service program includes both local, weekly service opportunities as well as more extensive immersion experiences. During the school year, students dedicate time to serving meals with the Father McKenna Center here on Eye Street, or through McKenna’s Wagon, Food and Friends, and the Campus Kitchen Program. Other students travel to the Washington Jesuit Academy where they play chess and mentor younger students, tutor local school children, or provide meals to shut-ins or those with AIDS. Additionally, students are drawn to grow in their commitment to a faith that does justice through a rich service immersion program that allows our students to serve communities in Camden, Apopka, the Dominican Republic, South Dakota, and New Orleans. On these extraordinary service trips, Gonzaga students are given the opportunity to make working with those in need a “habit of the heart”. Through their encounters with the people of these communities, they are invited to understand in what ways those they work alongside are marginalized by various injustices even as they are invited to more closely identify with them. The list of service opportunities at Gonzaga is robust and students are welcome to stop in the Campus Ministry Office any time. The proceeds from tonight’s coat check will benefit Gonzaga’s summer service projects.

Live Auction Giving Opportunities Raise the Paddle From the Freshman Retreat early on in each and every boy’s time on Eye Street to the KAIROS retreat during their Junior or Senior year, the comprehensive retreat program is at the heart of the Gonzaga experience. The Campus Ministry department—through these retreats and its day-to-day involvement in pastoral counseling and liturgical celebrations—helps ensure that Gonzaga’s Ignatian identity is fully alive and formative in the lives every Gonzaga student. On a daily basis, Campus Ministry’s influence is felt—inviting the young men of Eye Street to search for and find God not only in themselves, but in every one, every setting and every occasion. It’s that deliberate, intent focus that makes the notion of becoming a “Man for Others” more than a slogan or mere tagline; indeed, it’s the most important outcome of a Gonzaga education. Each year, Gonzaga invests nearly $150,000 in direct costs in running the retreat program. And each year they get an exceptional return on that investment as our graduates leave Gonzaga motivated to put their faith into action in all they do. Tonight, Father Stephen Planning, SJ will invite you to raise your paddle in support of the retreat program and its influence in the lives of our students.
Heads or Tails For $20 play Heads or Tails right before you dine. If you want to have several chances, don’t purchase one turn but purchase two or three. How do you play? At the flip of the coin, players pick heads or tails. When the coin lands, if heads is up, those who chose to touch their head stay in the game and those who chose to touch their “tail”, sit down. Last person standing wins a $200 gift certificate to Jaleo, a D.C. institution.

Tom Every and Katie White $1,000 107 Raise the Paddle From the Freshman Retreat early on in each and every boy’s time on Eye Street to the KAIROS retreat during their Junior or Senior year, the comprehensive retreat program is at the heart of the Gonzaga experience.
