December 2, 2017 Dear Gonzaga Families and Friends, On behalf of the Gonzaga Mothers Club, welcome to Gonzaga’s very own “Winter Wonderland”, our 37th Annual Christmas Gala. Christmas is certainly a time of year for gratitude and celebration and tonight we celebrate our Gonzaga family. The gifts of education, support, guidance and friendship are truly evident in this Eye Street family. As we look around, the words of the song certainly ring true, “It’s a beautiful sight, I’m happy tonight, walking in a Winter Wonderland”. I know as parents we are so very grateful for all that Gonzaga does for every one of our sons on a daily basis and tonight is the time for us to give back. I encourage all of you to please consider giving, in any way you can tonight, to help support our beloved school and all of their programs that work tirelessly to take our sons and turn them into “Men for Others”. A very special thank you to the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Purple Sponsors, the Gala Underwriters and the many families and friends of Gonzaga that have already given so generously and helped make this Winter Wonderland the extraordinary event it is. As we welcome you tonight, we look forward to celebrating the Christmas season with the Gonzaga family. We would like to thank each of you for attending the Gala and for the dedication, commitment, long hours and generosity of so many who will make this night a success. The goal of the Gala each year is to support Gonzaga’s curriculum, service and financial assistance programs which benefit all of our sons. None of this would have been possible without your support. Our heartfelt appreciation go out to our sponsors, donors, the fabulous committee chairs, countless volunteers, Gonzaga’s excellent staff, the Gonzaga Mothers Club, the Gonzaga Fathers Club, and of course, Father Planning. We are grateful for all of your encouragement and support over the past several months. We would also like to extend a very special thank you to the Alumni and Advancement office for their partnership, wise advice, and outreach. It takes the entire Gonzaga community to make this special evening a success. Giving Opportunities
The Father McKenna Center Table in the Carmody Center Established in 1983 by St. Aloysius Parish to carry on the legacy of Fr. Horace B. McKenna, the saintly associate pastor of St. Al’s, who dedicated his ministry to the service of the poor and marginalized in the community, the Father McKenna Center is proud to count Gonzaga College High School and the Gonzaga Mothers Club as vital partners in our work to serve the homeless and very low income families who rely on us each day. The Father McKenna Center operates a Day Shelter for men struggling with homelessness, serving 100+ men daily. We offer basic services (food, clothing, mail, etc.) to entice the men to engage our case managers so they can move to the right next step. The Center provides a Hypothermia Program (November to March) to provide a warm bed for 18-20 men. We also operate a Food Pantry serving 200+ families each month, offering quality fresh produce, bread, milk, eggs, meat and an array of nonperishable foods. Today Gonzaga students serve in our Food Pantry – helping us meet the needs of 200+ families from the neighborhoods around Gonzaga find the groceries they need to feed themselves – and in our Day Shelter program – serving Midday Meal to 50+ men struggling with homelessness. The Gonzaga Mothers’ Club provides dinner each evening for our Hypothermia Program that provides 18-20 men a safe and secure place to stay through the winter, while they work to secure a job, a transitional or permanent place to live or other “right next step” for them. How Can You Help? • Volunteer – our small staff (of 7) always needs people to help serve a meal, help in the food pantry, in our clothing distribution program or in myriad other ways. • Sign up to be part of the Gonzaga Mothers Club Hypothermia Program by providing or serving dinner to the men. Check on the Gonzaga Mothers Club webpage under the McKenna Center tab for more information. Please visit our table in the Carmody Center, so we can say “Thank You!” and to receive a special memento from the Father McKenna Center team.

Giving Opportunities
The Gonzaga Christian Service Program Each year, Gonzaga students enjoy a breadth of opportunities for service, deepening their commitment to social justice and fulfilling their call to discipleship. Following the retirement of Sr. Seton Cunneen at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, the Campus Ministry office now continues the tradition of service that she fostered so passionately. The school’s Christian Service Program includes both local, weekly service opportunities as well as more extensive immersion experiences. During the school year, students dedicate time to serving meals with the Father McKenna Center here on Eye Street, or through McKenna’s Wagon and the Campus Kitchen Program. Other students travel to the Washington Jesuit Academy where they play chess and mentor younger students. Juniors serve as companions to the elderly at our neighboring senior center Unique Residential. The school partners with both So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E) and Reading Partners to engage the senior class in service that supports the Social Justice course. Additionally, students are drawn to grow in their commitment to a faith that does justice through a rich service immersion program that allows our students to serve communities in Camden, Apopka, South Dakota, New Orleans, rural Emmitsburg, the US/Mexico Border and the Kino-Border Initiative. On these extraordinary service trips, Gonzaga students are given the opportunity to make working with those in need a “habit of the heart”. Through their encounters with the people of these communities, they are invited to understand in what ways those they work alongside are marginalized by various injustices even as they are invited to more closely identify with them. The list of service opportunities at Gonzaga is robust and students are welcome to stop in the Campus Ministry Office any time. The proceeds from tonight’s coat check will befit Gonzaga’s Summer Service Projects.

The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer shall determine the successful bidder. 2. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid that, in his or her opinion, is not commensurate with the value of the lot being offered. 3. Reserved items have a predetermined minimum price, which must be met. 4. The winning bidder will immediately receive for signature a Buyer’s Agreement listing name and amount of winning bid. 5. To bid on an item as a group, each individual bidder must provide a signature and a bid number on the multiple bidding sheet. A spokesperson shall be designated to bid on behalf of the group. If the bid is won, each person will be billed separately for his or her portion of the bill.
TAX INFORMATION You will be provided with a receipt for your purchases at the auction which you may wish to retain for tax purposes. Your receipt includes a good-faith estimate of the value of the item offered in the auction, based on information provided by the donor.
