Production Staff Bios Mr. Paul Buckley ‘86, HoF ‘16 (Producer) is enjoying another fall in the Sheehy Theater. This is his 21st year producing shows for the GDA, so his shows are now old enough to, well, be old. He thanks his awesome production staff of Meghan, Allan, and Jonathan. He especially thanks the kids because they are the reason he does this - it is their energy and their talent that make this experience so special and so rewarding. Lastly, he thanks his wife Monica and his kids, and hopes that next year his eldest son Anthony will be joining him in the GDA. Mrs. Meghan Goldsmith, HoF ‘18 (Producer) is in her 18th season as a member of the production staff and is thrilled as always to get another production up on its feet. Memorable shows include Singin’ in the Rain ‘99, 42nd Street ‘02, Guys and Dolls ‘06, West Side Story ‘08, Kiss Me Kate ‘11, and Fiddler ‘14. Thank you to Paul, Allan and Jonathan for being wonderful colleagues, creators and friends, and congratulations to the cast and crews, especially the seniors, on a job very well done. Love and thanks to her amazing husband Dan for his support and delicious dinners, and to Matt and Katie for being such happy, awesome kids -- thanks for sharing Mommy with the big kids for a little while. Mr. Allan L’Etoile ‘73, HoF ‘12 (Director) has been directing shows at Gonzaga since 1997. He loves working wih the students in the cast and crew, even the students in house crew, and he finds the work most enjoyable when he sees the kids make something wonderful on the stage for each other and for the audience. He thanks his wife, Marie, for agreeing to let him spend long hours away from home each year taking on this fun work. Mr. Jonathan Spencer (Technical Director) is a native of Fairfax, VA and a graduate of the Art Institute of Washington. He is enjoying his second year as the GDA Technical Theatre Director after having recently worked as the Technical Theatre Director for Summit School in Winston-Salem, NC and as the co-owner of the live music venue, Turntable, in Jamestown, NC.

NATE!

Maybe this will get your attention! Get off the computer, it is time for bed! Love, Dad

Cast and Crew Bios Mikyas Assefa (Stage Crew) is a sophomore at Gonzaga. “Blowing an airhorn during stage crew is not on task.” Eleanor Bender (Ensemble) is thrilled to be in her first GDA production. Although, she is a sophomore at St. John’s College High School, she was welcomed to Gonzaga with open arms. Kinda. She now bleeds purple and loves the Gonzaga Eagles.... mostly... Nate Buckley (Stage Crew) is happy to be on stage crew for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He hopes you enjoy the show. Coleman Bunn (Flute), Class of 2020, plays Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, who plays Thisbe in Pyramus and Thisbe. All the costumes are okay, but Thisbe wears a dress that’ll make all the ladies jealous. Ben Campion (Oberon), a junior in his third production, is thrilled to be included in his first biker gang, although he has many henchman to do his biding, all he ever asked for Christmas was a “little changeling boy.” BREAKING NEWS: BELL-BOTTOMS BE BACK!!!! William Carmody (Stage Crew) is excited to be a part of GDA and Gonzaga in general. This is his first play on a stage crew. He grew up with the school being a Carmody and is thrilled to be here. Thomas Carney (Stage Crew) is a sophomore at Gonzaga. Thomas is on stage crew for his third show. He is looking forward to enjoying stage crew for the rest of his years on Eye Street. Fior Cecchi-Rivas (Titania): Turns out Titania is a junior at Visitation. Jefferson Cedillos (Stage Crew) is happy to be on stage crew for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He hopes you enjoy the show. Christopher Cowardin (Starveling) is excited that he is in his 5th GDA production! He would like to thank his family, Mr. Buckley, Mr. L’Etoile, Mrs. Goldsmith and all that helped in this production. He hopes you enjoy the production and remember: “Mr. L’Etoile can’t work his miracles unless you believe!” Kiera Dent (Ensemble), a junior at Visitation, thanks her fellow fairies, metro squad, metro buddy and races to McLean for an amazing time. Collin Dent, (House Manager) senior at Gonzaga College High School, is excited to reprise his role as House Manager for this production. House crew continues to be the lifeblood of Collin’s extra-curricular life, just as it is the driving force behind the GDA itself. Collin would like to thank Winston Leslie, among many others, for providing the fertile soil in which the flower of his GDA life could bloom.

Ebou “Abe” Dibba (Ensemble) is part of the graduating class of 2022 and appears in this production as one of Oberon’s henchmen. This is his first time participating in the GDA and he hopes to be in future shows. Matthew Dowd (Ensemble) is a freshman at Gonzaga. He is one of Oberon’s henchmen. This is his first school play that he has participated in and he has enjoyed watching the play develop throughout the fall. Justin Duckett (Assistant Stage Manager) is happy to be on stage crew for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He hopes you enjoy the show. Freshman Matthew Dukes (Stage Crew) is thrilled to be working on stage crew. His experience with the GDA has been great! Grace Dwyer (Makeup Crew) is happy to be helping with the makeup crew for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She hopes you enjoy the show. After one show of servitude and two as second-in-command (don’t tell Matt Seay he’s claiming this), Andrew Farabow (Stage Manager) has finally overthrown his predecessor (who definitely didn’t leave for college or anything like that) and seized control of the stage crew. He has enjoyed his reign thus far but hopes the set building process for the next show will feel less like assembling Ikea furniture and more like making up plans on the spot. Emma Farren (Ensemble) is a junior at Visitation and utterly gobsmacked that this is her fourth show with the GDA. She had so much fun but sadly still cannot create a Shakespearean pun in iambic pentameter. Mayhap another morrow... Fairies, away! Arthur Ferridge (Assistant Stage Manager) is a sophomore on stage crew. He is stage left manager this year, and outside of stage crew he plays rugby for Gonzaga. Joseph Fondriest (Light Manager) is a senior at Gonzaga, the lighting manager, and a living piece of art. Andrew Gans (Loft Manager), junior, is excited for A Midsummer Night’s Dream to be his third production in the GDA and his first show as the loft manager. He’d like to thank James Walutes, Andrew Metro, and Karen for teaching him everything he knows. Matthew Gately (Philostrate) is a sophomore at Gonzaga in his third GDA show. Joseph Giuliani (Stage Crew) is happy to be on stage crew for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He hopes you enjoy the show.

Thanks to the Stage Crew for all of your talented work and long hours!

Gonzaga Stage Crew: Nathaniel Buckley William Carmody Thomas Carney Jefferson Cedillos Justin Duckett Matthew Dukes Andrew Farabow Arthur Ferridge Joseph Fondriest Andrew Gans Joseph Giuliani William Joransen Johnny Martinez Majano Thomas Pacious Alexander Wojciak

Congratulations Emily Orem (AHC ’19) on your final fall show with the the GDA!

Painted Maypole? Nay..... Goddess! Nymph! Perfect! Divine!

Meaghan Howard (Hermia) is so excited to be returning to the GDA for her third show in the role of Hermia. She is currently a sophomore at Georgetown Visitation who is Kelly Strong! She would like to thank the Rizzo’s for the carpool rides, the Visitation “Metro-pool” for all of the Starbucks runs, and of course her parents! Lydie Johnson (Ensemble) goes to Georgetown Visitation and is happy to be in the ensemble for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She hopes you enjoy the show. Will Joransen (Sound Manager), junior, is excited to be a part of his third production and first as the sound manager. I would like to thank the previous sound manager Quigley for teaching me a whole lot about being sound manager. Simon Kim (Ensemble) is ecstatic to be a part of A Midsummer Night’s Dream! His first experience in the GDA has been full of laughs and awesomeness! Guyer Kopplin (Ensemble) is a freshman in his first GDA show. He would like to thank his parents for supporting him through all the difficult times and his family for all the experiences they’ve given him. “I hope you enjoy the show!” James Lau (Lysander) is a junior at Gonzaga, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is his debut in GDA as Lysander. He loves the cast and thanks Mr. L’Etoile. Carter Long (Ensemble) is a freshman and this is his first major theatre production and he is proud to be doing it with the GDA. Alison Manca (Hippolyta) is thrilled to be in her first GDA show playing wonder woman’s mother. She would also like to thank Maddie and Sarah, her personal chauffeurs. Johnny Martinez Majano (Stage Crew) is a sophomore at Gonzaga. He’s excited to be able to work on his first GDA production. A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be the first production he has contributed to. Jo Matta (Makeup Crew) attends the Academy of the Holy Cross and is excited to be part of the makeup crew for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She hopes you enjoy the show. Patricia McGee (Ensemble) is a junior at Visitation. She’s excited to be on makeup crew (again!) as well as being a member of the “Athenian youth.” When PJ McMahon (the lovely senior playing the part of Demetrius) is not playing a self-centered, beautiful loved, he enjoys wearing pleather and grooming his name. He is often compared to a “young Johnny Depp” or a “more attractive Warren Peace.” PJ would like to thank his family, friends, fans, groupies, and all those he is indifferent about.

James Miller, (Ensemble) a Gonzaga freshman, is surprised to be in his first show, even after Mr. L’Etoile spent four years with Joe. Caroline Mukerjee (Ensemble) would like to thank her “Athenian Youth” and Mr. L’Etoile for finding her at a football game! Olivia Nammo (Ensemble) is a sophomore at Stone Ridge. She is so excited to be a part of her first GDA production. She’s only fallen three times and loves the party car adventures. Hameed Nelson (Ensemble) would like to thank his family and teachers for giving him the opportunity to have the confidence to act in the GDA. Maddie Rose Notarianni (Snug), a senior at Stone Ridge, would like to say hello to all of the lovely audience members. Hello. What up? I’m Snug. I’m 17, and I never learned how to read... ROAR. Brendan O’Boyle (Snout) is thrilled to be part of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He hopes you enjoy the show. Nancy O’Gara (Makeup Crew) attends Georgetown Visitation and is assisting with makeup for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She hopes you enjoy the show. Jenny Olcott (Makeup Crew) is a senior at the Academy of the Holy Cross, and she serves as a member of the makeup crew. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is her second show. Her time in GDA has been some of the most meaningful and well spent moments of her life. Emily Orem (Helena), a senior at Holy Cross, feels that she has been typecast as Helena due to her height, general awkwardness, and deep love for PJ McMahon; however, she cannot deny the fun that she has had in her seventh show with the GDA. Shout out to friends - couldn’t have done it without you (yes, that statement was from my perspective). Thomas Pacious (Stage Crew) is a junior at Gonzaga, and a member of the stage crew. This is his first year on stage crew, after he joined on a whim. He finds great satisfaction in completing projects, and is willing to get his hands dirty. He is excited to be a part of the fall production, and is ready to see his creations on the stage. Luke Rizzo (Ensemble) is a sophomore and plays one of Oberon’s henchmen. “I always figured I’d be sleeveless in leather on a stage, but I never thought it’d be like this.” Peter Rizzo (Theseus) is a Gonzaga senior in his sixth show with the GDA. He’d like to ask you to picture yourself on an adventure for riches beyond belief. Your travels have been tedious but they’ve led you to a cave where you know a dragon and treasures await. Do you press forward? (If yes, see Tomas Williamson’s bio and if no, see Ryan Vigilante’s).

Putting a dream in your dream so you can dream while you dream.

Keep following your dreams, Maddie Rose! Love, Mom, Dad & Spencer

Congratulations Peter (‘19) and Luke (‘21) on another spectacular GDA show! We are so proud of you! Love, Mom, Dad, Maddie and Abby

Georgetown Visitation GDA members are:

KELLY STRONG

Love & Miss You, Sweet Angel

Will Sanders (Ensemble) is a senior and is shocked to be in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He is excited that he can hench with the men and express his flust, and hopes that everyone enjoys the show! Adam Sanin (House Manager) is a senior that is absolutely stoked to be your house manager for this transcendent spectacle. Gonzaga House Crew has opened up his life such like a daffodil blooming in the midst of a beautiful spring. Thank you - enjoy the show! A senior at Stone Ridge, Sarah Slimp (Puck) is ecstatic to be in her fifth show. She rose to the challenge of Puck (sprained her wrist while roller skating… don’t ask). But it’s Simple Really. She would like to thank the adults for “rolling” with it. Ryan Vigilante (Egeus) is a senior in his 3rd show. If you’re reading this you’ve chosen no. Too afraid to enter the dungeon leading to riches beyond your wildest dreams, you turn around. On your way home, you start to ponder. You realize that the treasure is ultimately inconsequential in what really matters: who you are as a person. While you are deep in thought, you step into oncoming traffic and get hit by a bus. This is Caroline Vining’s (Ensemble) first show with the GDA and she’s having so much fun! Shout out to the Stone Ridge girls for the awesome carpool rides! Naomi Waller (Changling Boy) is thrilled to be in her inaugural dramatic production with the GDA. As a fan of prior GDA productions such as Beauty and the Beast and a fortunate benefactor of GDA trips to Manhattan for shows such as School of Rock and Pirates of Penzance, Naomi credits GDA for her budding theater career and interest in the dramatic arts. She would like to thank her family for their support, Mr. L’Etoile for recognizing her potential, all of his encouragement and dedication, Mr. Buckley for introducing her to the theatre world (without the GDA trips, she would never have fallen in love with acting) and the GDA for such an awesome experience. Senior Andrew Wilkerson (Peter Quince) doens’t spel verry whell. Hee woodn’t bee goood att hys jyob in teh pley, becuase hea whould knead two wright gudly. Ohter poeple mite ghet madd aat hymn wen hye mipsellz wurds ande thei dno’t udnerstand tehm, bhut sadlee hhe canot hlep ti. Hye whants too thakn hiss phamily andd freinds four supportign himm width hes misterius ibanility tew sppell. Tomas Williamson (Bottom) is a senior in his 5th show. He’s super excited and hopes everyone enjoys the it! I see you’ve chosen “yes.” You enter the dungeon ready to face a dragon; when you feel the heat of his breath, you decide it too scary and run away... *see Ryan Vigilante’s bio for the rest of the story* John Winters (Stage Crew) is excited to be part of his first GDA production and is grateful for this opportunity in his senior year. He would like to thank his family and especially his younger brother, Drew. Alex Wojciak (Stage Crew) is happy to be on stage crew for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He hopes you enjoy the show.
