In Loving Memory
Christopher T. Flannery II
Gonzaga Maestro, Colleague, Teacher and Friend December 19, 1954 - October 28, 2013
Thank you for your love of Gonzaga, your love of music, and your support of the performing arts in all of its forms.
The Dramatic Association of Gonzaga College High School Proudly Presents
A Play in Three Acts by Michael Frayn Produced By Paul Buckley ‘86 & Meghan Goldsmith Directed By Andrew Curtin ‘01 Technical Direction by Matthew Duffy & Mimi Aujero November 8, 9, 10, 15 & 16, 2013 at 7:30PM November 17, 2013 at 2:30PM Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., 45 W. 25th Street, New York, NY 10010
A Note from the Director... They say you can never come home again. Or at least, I suppose, that if you try, you will find that home so profoundly changed that it will be unrecognizable, something completely different that no longer feels like the place you remember. I have to admit, I was nervous returning to Gonzaga this fall. We were tackling a monster show, I had previously met exactly three of the students of this generation of the GDA, and here I was trying to pretend I was an adult and suddenly the peer of two men I’d looked up to for most of my life - both of whom had probably seen my name on the top of more than one unfortunately-marked paper during the time I was not only under their direction, but a student in their classes. If that wasn’t enough, the newly-dubbed Sheehy Theater had undergone a massive facelift - one that undoubtedly left it a better theater, but was it still going to be home? The answer, fortunately, is wonderfully, unequivocally, YES. The reason, is simple. It’s the students. I don’t know why this surprised me; I’d BEEN one of those students, after all. I knew very well what the GDA was like. Still, I was taken by surprise at just how much the students of the GDA can love. They love everything and everyone around them, selflessly, to a fault. They wait at Union Station every day to escort their fellow cast members from our sister schools safely to Gonzaga. They support one another in their weaknesses and celebrate together in their triumphs. Most importantly, they are a family - from the day the cast list went up, there was a clear, unspoken promise between each and every one of them - “I’m here for you. You need me, and I’ll be there. Period.” To my great joy, they opened that circle up to include me, immediately and without hesitation. There was never a question if I was “good enough” to be their director, no “who’s this guy who’s filling in for Mr. L’Etoile?” We were in this thing together. I believed in them, and they in me, and life was grand. It’s been the ride of my life trying to direct two casts of supremely talented actors through a supremely, perhaps insanely, complicated show. I have loved every minute of it. I’m unbelievably grateful for the chance to come home to Eye Street and the Purple and White one more time, and most especially I’m grateful for this tremendous group of young people. Cast of Noises Off: you are a rare bunch indeed, and it’s been a blessing and an unbelievable amount of fun being with you these last two and a half months. I will miss you terribly, but not for long - Fiddler on the Roof is coming up, after all, and there’s no way I’ll pass up the chance to see my favorite show on my favorite stage this spring. After all, as you’ve shown me, at Gonzaga, you always, always can come home again. Break a leg! Andrew Curtin November 2013

Production Staff Bios Mrs. Mimi Aujero (Technical Director) is happy to be part of another GDA production and is so proud of the stage crew for the fabulous set they built! A veteran of high school theater and a cast or crew member for many shows, she has to admit that this is her favorite set thus far. She’d like to thank her new husband Matt for being awesome during his first real pretech week/tech week experience. Mr. Paul Buckley ‘86 (Co-Producer) pinches himself regularly to see if this great good fortune of this new theater is real. And it is. He thanks the three M’s - Meghan, Matt and Mimi for their superior work on this show - this set is one of a kind. He especially thanks Andrew for coming in and working so brilliantly and so flawlessly with two casts and a very complicated show. He hopes this is not the last time Andrew is back with the GDA. He thanks his wife Monica and Anthony, Caroline and Gabe for being the inspiration behind his work. Lastly, he dedicates this production to his good friend and former music mentor, Mr Chris Flannery. RIP Chris. Mr. Andrew Curtin ‘01 (Director) is thrilled to be returning to the GDA this fall! A graduate of the College of William and Mary, Andrew spent six years teaching, directing shows, and designing sets out at Park View High School in Sterling, and now teaches at Bishop Ireton in Alexandria. When not at school, he is the director for the St. Bernadette’s Summer Theater Program and the Our Lady Queen of Peace Youth Theater Program, as well as the choir director for OLQP’s 6pm Youth/Young Adult mass. Thanks to his family and friends for their love and support; to Mr. Buckley, Mr. L’Etoile, Mr. Duffy, Mrs. Aujero, and Mrs. Goldsmith for welcoming him onto the GDA staff; and most importantly to the absolutely wonderful cast and crew he’s gotten to know and love this fall. Break a leg! Mr. Matthew Duffy (Technical Director): “If you tell someone you drive a pick-up truck, they will automatically assume you’d love to help them move (then try to pay you with pizza and beer, even if you don’t drink). If you tell someone you are an artist, they will think you would absolutely love to stencil a border in their kitchen (then compensate you with the “opportunity” to babysit while they go out to eat). If you tell someone you used to work as a carpenter, welder, electrician, fabricator, and sculptor, they might try to sweet-talk you into supervising Stage Crew. This last thing will work out, however, because if you supervise Stage Crew, you will meet students who are simultaneously the most hilarious, capable, individualistic, awkward, and intelligent people you have come across in your short teaching career. But, whatever you do, in your production bio, DO NOT refer to your gorgeous wife Elizabeth (Visi ‘05) as your “new wife” because it implies that you had been secretly married before.” Mrs. Meghan Goldsmith (Co-Producer) is back for her lucky (knock on wood) thirteenth year as a member of the production staff and finds it oddly unsettling to be at the end of the production staff alphabet. Memorable shows include Singin’ in the Rain ‘99 (her only show on the Gonzaga stage), 42nd Street ‘02, Guys and Dolls ‘06, West Side Story ‘08 and Kiss Me Kate ‘11. She is blessed beyond words by the opportunity to continue to work with such passionate and hard-working peers, enthusiastic and talented students, and by far the most dedicated house crew in town, and all while enjoying this beautifully renovated space. She would like to thank her fabulous husband Dan (with the awesome stories) and her loquacious son Matty for being the best reasons to go home at the end of the day.
Congratulations, Christian, on your 7th GDA production! We are so proud of you and all you do!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Mom, Dad, Rachel and Andrea
Going to great depths to capture the moment

Bios Gabriella Barbuto (Brooke/Vicki) is inally a senior and extremely proud to be a part of her 6th GDA production. Because she decided to write this at the last second before it was due, she would like to apologize to the audience for having to read this apology. Please check your seats to see if you can ind my left contact. Shout-out to A-Train sitting out in the house. Hi mom. Hi dad. Hi mar. Hi people. This is Nicholas Bennett’s (Assistant Light Manager) 5th show, and he is just as thrilled as he always seems to be working on the show. The staff for stage crew is of the highest quality so far, as you can tell by the overwhelming sense of competence they exude.
Derrell Bouknight (Stage Crew) is a 6’5 junior at Gonzaga laboring behind the scenes on his ifth consecutive show while covering high school sports at the same time. He sincerely acknowledges his fellow cast and crew cohorts and appreciates everybody for coming out. Enjoy the show! Patrick Brockwell (Tim) is a freshman in his irst show. He would like to thank his brother for setting the bar that he has already passed.
Maddie Brown (Makeup Crew) is a sophomore at AHC and is excited to participate in her second GDA show. She is looking forward to being a part of another great production. Liam Burke (Stage Crew) would like to thank Mr. Duffy and Mrs. Aujero for their guidance and expertise and fellow stage crew for the great times.
Reno Carlitti (Property Master) is a junior and this is his second year with the GDA. He is excited to be a member of Noises Off and to be contributing to the production of the play.
Cate Chandler (‘Nothing On’ Tech Crew) is so excited to be a part of her irst Gonzaga play. She would like to thank her friends and family. Brian Claeys (Frederick/Phillip) is very happy to be in his 5th show with the GDA. If anything, after this show he will be a master at ascending stairs with no pants on. He would like to thank Mr. Curtin for making this all possible. Julia Clarke (Makeup Crew) is so excited to be a part of her 4th show at GDA on the makeup crew. Good luck to both casts of Noises Off. Break a leg!!!!
Joe Cooney (Frederick/Phillip) is excited to be in his third show with the GDA. He would like to thank everyone involved for making this an exceedingly fun experience.
This is Alex Davis’ (Stage Crew) irst GDA show. He is excited to be a part of this production and wants to commend Jacob Powers for his hard work and dedication. Jacob has completed all tasks given to him with ease and inesse. Jacob is the heart and soul of Gonzaga stage crew.
Congratulations, Joey! Love, Mom, Dad, Dalia & Ally
“Dalia Hamilton is our favorite SUPERNATURAL young actress!!” --- Sam & Dean
CONGRATULATIONS! on your first production!!
Hunter Erlacher (Loft Manager) is a senior. This is his 5th show and he would like to thank all of his friends and family. Shout out to Dweeb (Darby McGee) she is my best friend. Matthias: Yes. Gabby. John. Matt. Matthew Feller (Stage Crew) is a freshman doing his irst GDA show. He did other theater in middle school and is dabbling in crew, aside from acting.
Kelsey Ferrick, (Assistant Stage Manager) a junior at Holy Cross, is glad to be part of her third show. Gabby-carpool. She loves Darby McGee. Hunter. John Giordano. Matt James. Matthias Kelley. Joey.
This is Christian Forte’s (A/V Manager) 7th show on stage crew with the GDA. This is his 2nd show undertaking the demanding job of A/V Manager. He has also enjoyed using the GDA as an outlet for his photography, and hopes that some good has come of it. The GDA has been an incredible addition to his Gonzaga experience, and he cannot believe that this is his inal year. Elizabeth Gilmore (Stage Crew) is a junior at Holy Cross. This is her irst show with the GDA. She’s made new friends and has had an amazing experience. This is John Giordano’s (Loft Crew) ifth play. He likes it and all the cast and crew.
Patrick Grant (Garry/Roger) has been left wondering why he waited until junior year to do his irst GDA show. 25 words can’t express how great Kayla Gwiazda (Poppy) is thrilled to be in her irst show with the GDA! She’d like to thank Mr. Curtin and her amazing cast mates for being so supportive.
Ben Hadinger (Stage Crew) nailed it (literally). In his second year of stage crew, he’s built it all - thankfully it all held together. It’s great to be a performer without having to act. Shout back atcha Duffy!!! Dalia Hamilton (Poppy) is a freshman at Visitation and is very excited to be in her irst Gonzaga production. Allons-y!!
Joey Hamilton (Lloyd) is proud to be part of his fourth show at Gonzaga. He is extremely happy to have been part of the extremely fun but incredibly stressful show that was Noises Off.
Jeanne Marie Hathway (Dotty/Mrs. Clackett) counts herself blessed beyond measure to be part of the incredible GDA family. This is her second show at Gonzaga. Sardines, anyone? Donovan Hill (‘Nothing On’ Tech Crew) is a senior veteran who has participated in the GDA since sophomore year. This is his ifth show (Christmas Carol, Annie Get Your Gun, Our Town, and 42nd Street), and he could not be more excited! Donovan is a humongous theatre fan, and will continue to act after high school. Special thanks go to Mr. L’Etoile, Mr. Buckley, and the entire GDA for making this experience one he will never forget.
Matt Hoffman (Stage Crew) is very excited to be part of the stage crew in his irst Gonzaga production, and he looks forward to participating in future shows.
Andrew Hohman (House Crew) has been a member of the House Crew for the past 4 years. He admires the talented people he has watched perform these last four years! Good Luck to all of you in Noises Off and your future endeavors. Thank you to Mr. Buckley and the GDA for letting him have this experience with the great GDA!
Matt James (Stage Manager) is ecstatic to be a part of Noises Off. He would like to thank the cast and crew for making his years in GDA the highlight of his high school career. Break a leg guys! AMDG.
Jack Joyce, (Lloyd) a Gonzaga senior, is performing in his 5th show with the GDA and couldn’t be more excited. He thinks everyone has worked very hard to prepare this show, and hopes you enjoy it. He would like to thank Mr. Curtin for stepping up big time, and Jack and Hunter for keeping him laughing.
Matthias Kelley (Sound Manager) takes everything seriously. He does not laugh, nor does he make light of any subject. He does not “kid,” and he certainly does not “pull” anybody’s “leg.” Matthias Kelley is an all-or-nothing kind of guy. He plays for keeps, and he doesn’t stop for the stragglers. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, and he knows it. Phil Kiley (Selsdon/The Burglar) is confused with what to do with all the words Mr. Buckley has given him. This is his 5th show at Gonzaga, but he still has nothing to say. He had fourteen words left when he started this sentence, now none remain.
Jonathan Kokotajlo (Stage Crew) for his third show wishes to extend his undeniably extreme gratitude toward unequaled and extraordinary friends and family members for their unending aid and extemporary assistance during times of unexpected complications.
Will LaRocca (House Crew) is a freshman at Gonzaga and is happy to part of the house crew for Noises Off. He was involved in the musicals and drama at Swanson Middle School in Arlington, and looks forward to future GDA productions. John Leach (‘Nothing On’ Tech Crew) is a junior at Gonzaga. This is his ifth show, and is his third show as an actor. Ironically, he previously did stage crew, and in the show he plays a member of Nothing On’s stage crew, which has been all kinds of confusing. The sole survivor of the L’Etoile clan, Theresa L’Etoile (Dotty/Mrs. Clackett), a senior at Visitation, is thrilled to be in her 6th GDA production. She has the time of her life performing on stage with so many talented actors and actresses, and wouldn’t trade it for the world. She hopes you have as much fun watching the show as she has acting it out! Shout out to seniors, Visi girls, KF, DM, and TBS. Hakuna Matata. Caroline Long (Makeup Crew) is happy to be involved with Noises Off as a member of the makeup crew. She performed with the GDA last spring in 42nd Street. She wishes the cast and crew good luck!

Maggie Maloney (‘Nothing On’ Tech Crew) is ecstatic to be in her irst Gonzaga play she wants to thank all of her friends and family for supporting her.
Peter Marcou (‘Nothing On’ Tech Crew) is euphoric to be in his third production on the GDA, Noises Off. He would like to thank various different associations, but was advised by his attorney not to show any afiliation with them. Hey Phil. What’s happening? Sevaun Mason (Stage Crew) is overjoyed to be participating in his irst GDA production. He would like to thank his family and Mr. Duffy for the opportunity! Chris McDonnell (Selsdon/The Burglar) is a senior at Gonzaga. He does a fun summer show (also directed by Mr. Curtin) and this is his seventh show at Gonzaga (eleventh high school show, really). Shout-outs are due to the ever-amazing Amelia and of course, Christopher’s double, Phillip Kiley. Enjoy the show! Matt McDonnell (‘Nothing On’ Tech Crew) is a sophomore in his second GDA show. He would like to thank his family for their support. He hopes you enjoy the show.
Darby McGee (Assistant Stage Manager) is a junior at Holy Child! She is very excited to be part of her second GDA production. Shout out to Hunter and Kelsey! Graydon Monroe (Light Crew) says, “A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we break bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day!”
Jack Mullaly (Tim) is thrilled to be in his second show at Gonzaga. He is thankful he has the opportunity to take part in greatness. “Crud!” David Orem (Light Crew) is proud to be in his very irst GDA performance and would like to thank his family, especially his dad, for their support.
McCauley Peters (Stage Crew): “It’s odd the word hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia means the fear of long words yet it itself is a very long word. This is very fascinating and makes the English language so annoying. Now with that tidbit of info, I joined stage crew message because I thought it would be fun to do it with my friends.” Mitchell Pleasure (Stage Crew) has thoroughly enjoyed his irst production on stage crew, and he thanks Mr. Buckley and Mr. Duffy for the fabulous opportunity.
Jacob Powers (Loft Crew) is a junior at Gonzaga and is excited to express his architectural and artistic talents. He believes Alex Davis is the hardest working, most inluential, and smartest employee Gonzaga stage crew has ever seen. All hail Alex Davis.
Emilie Pratt (Brooke/Vicki) is very excited to be a part of her third GDA production, Noises Off. She has greatly enjoyed working with the white cast and Mr. Curtin and will miss everyone when this is over.
After tapping as Anytime Annie in 42nd Street, Daryn Robinson (Belinda/Flavia) returns for her penultimate GDA show. She sends both casts “little hugs and squeezes”, and thanks Mr. Curtin for molding her into an axe-wielding ninja.
Bridget Rossi (Belinda/Flavia) is a senior at Holy Cross High School. This is her irst show at Gonzaga. Some of her previous performances include The Wizard of Oz (Cowardly Lion), Alice in Wonderland (Mad Hatter), Twelfth Night (Maria), and Twelve Angry Women (5th Juror). Thanks to everyone who made her experience at GDA a great one!
Andrew Schoenewolf (Stage Crew) is a junior at Gonzaga College High School. He is excited for his irst show with the GDA. He would like to thank Mrs. Aujero and Mr. Duffy.
Michael Seay (Loft Crew) is excited for his third GDA production! Shout out to David Orem for being the kind of person we can all look up to. This is Maggie Shaheen’s (‘Nothing On’ Tech Crew) irst show at Gonzaga. She is very excited. Break a leg to the cast and crew of Noises Off.
Andrew Sheehy (Stage Crew): “Welcome to my humble abode. Please enjoy your stay.”
Waldo Soria (Light Crew) is a sophomore. He is thrilled to be a part of a play for the irst time. He enjoys being a part of stage crew so much. He looks forward to being part of many more plays to come in his years in the GDA. Ryan Stanton (Light Manager) is excited for his third GDA production, Noises Off! He’d like to thank everyone who made this complex production a little smoother, especially the rest of light crew!
Michael Vitale (Loft Crew) is a sophomore, and is excited to be part of his irst GDA production. He thanks everybody who has worked hard to make this play possible. James Waddell (Stage Crew) is so excited to be on stage crew for the play. Thank you Mr. Buckley and Mr. Duffy!
Oh crud! This is Hunter Watson’s (Garry/Roger) last show. It’s been an awesome ride! Thanks to everyone so much he’ll never forget this experience especially his brothers Jack Joyce and Jack Mullaly. Ethan Weisberg (Stage Crew) has really enjoyed working with the stage crew on Noises Off, and is looking forward to taking part in more productions.
Steffaney Wood (Makeup Crew) is a senior at Georgetown Visitation and is excited to be part of makeup crew for Noises Off. She would like to thank the GDA for making her experience fun and memorable.
