Production Staff West Side Story marks Mr. Paul Buckley’s ‘86 (Co-Producer/ Technical Director) 20th show as Producer, and 3rd as Technical Director. He has loved working with this team and this group of kids. He is especially grateful to the terrific senior leadership on the cast, crew and house who have worked so hard with him these last 3 or 4 years. He would like to thank especially Cara Tarone for her unbelievably hard work and dedication to the choreography of this show, and to Alice Curtin, who for the past 10 years has given so generously to the GDA. Lastly, and mostly, he thanks his wife Monica and Anthony and Caroline for allowing him to spend so much time away from them for the sake of the show. They are the biggest reason why he has a smile on his face as he leaves the theatre each night. Mrs. Meghan Goldsmith (Co-Producer) is thrilled to be working on her 14th Gonzaga show as a member of the production staff. She would like to thank Paul, Roger, Miranda, Cara and Doc for making this her absolute favorite place to work, the cast, crew and band for working so hard to make a fantastic show, the seniors for being wonderful, her family and friends for their constant love and support, and her new husband Dan for everything else. Mrs. Miranda Lodato (Assistant Director) is thrilled to be assistant directing West Side Story. She can say absolutely unbiasedly that this is the best high school production of all time. She would like to thank Roger, Cara, Paul, Meghan, and Doc for making this such a pleasure. Congratulations to the cast and crew on their hard work and a fantastic job! Mr. Roger Schlegel ‘83 (Director) is thrilled to be back as director of “West Side Story.” He thanks the kids on the cast,

crew and band for all their hard work and dedication, the adults for their committment, and his wife Sasha and son Theo for their love. Ms. Cara Tarone (Choreographer) is ecstatic to be back for her second year choreographing for Gonzaga! With several years of professional dance and theatre experience in Washington, DC and New York City, one of Cara’s favorite memories is performing in the 2002 nationally televised Kennedy Center Honors West Side Story/Chicago tribute for Chita Rivera. Cara is currently teaching history at Georgetown Visitation and continues to choreograph for high schools throughout the area, having most recently choreographed High School Musical for the Musical Theatre Center in Rockville, MD. Special thanks to Roger, Paul, Miranda, Meghan and Doc for being a constant source of laughter, support and Orbit Gum. She dedicates this work’s love to: “Mom & Dad - where would I be without your wisdom, compassion and understanding...And to my Rob, I love you...May God bless you and bring you home to us safely where you belong. And last but NOT least, my cast: THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Jerome Robbins is smiling down on you tonight! God bless and a 5,6,7,8!!” Dr. John C. Warman ’57 (Musical Director) is back for his sixty-seventh show and third West Side Story in the Gonzaga Theatre. As a student he appeared in the Mission Variety Shows of 1956 and 1957, and as a faculty member has been involved in the production, direction, and musical direction of Oedipus Rex (1967), two alumni revues (1996 and 2006), and sixty-two productions of fifty different musicals (1968 to the present). He is a teacher of Greek and Latin by day and an organist and choirmaster on weekends. In 1999 he was inducted into the Gonzaga Theatre Hall of Fame as its inaugural member.

To our own little Teresita!!! Julie Shuster!!! What a thrill to see you dance on the Gonzaga stage!

Much love from the Shuster Gang Steve ‘99, JP ‘01, Justin ‘01 Alex ‘04 & Matt ‘06 and the gang leaders MOM & DAD

The Lang Family wishes to thank piano teacher

Alla Morozova who, for the past 10 years, has musically touched and enriched the life of our Visitation senior, Katie.

Congratulations, Kevin on your stellar career on the Historic Gonzaga stage! Let’s think, you’ve been a G-man, a crapshooter, an anarchist on death row, an orphan in the Great Depression, the rather bumbling producer of a Shakespearean play within a play, and now, a member of a NYC gang. We think it is definitely time that you try college! Love, Mom, Dad, Maura and Denis

You’re

on the

right track,

A-Train !

We love you! Mom, Dad, and Matthias

Best Wishes to the Cast and Crew of West Side Story. Thanks for a Great Show! The Nebeker Family

The best brother in the world is the part you play for your sister. AJ, not one day goes by that you cease to amaze us. From the moment you were born you were bigger than life and you have never let us down. Over the years you have grown both physically and mentally and always made us proud. No one could ask for a son greater than you. You give us such pride in everything you do and no matter how old or how big you get you always know that your mamma is always right. I love you with every ounce of my soul and so does your daddy. Always and Forever, Mommie, Dad and MeMe.

Shrank) fifth Gonzaga production, and he relishes the serious role of Lt. Shrank. He thanks his supportive family and friends and hopes that next year will have an equally talented cast.

He is currently on the Rugby team. He is also a D.J.

Vince Kelley (A-Train) is in his 3rd show with the GDA. He would like to thank Mr. Theriaque for telling him to try out for FP and everyone who’s helped along the way especially Meghan and Mr. Schlegel for teaching him how to scalp tickets. Laura Kelly (Minnie), formerly known as moose, formerly known as elk, is a senior at Visitation. She has performed in two other shows with the GDA, this one being her last. She is heartbroken to have to leave but will never forget the amazing times she has spent on this stage. She would like to thank her favorite people in the whole world (yeah, you know who you are) and her family for their love and support. This is Bill Kennedy’s (Loft Manager) sixth and final show in the GDA, second as loft manager, and he can’t believe his time has finally come to an end. He would especially like to thank our wonderful stage manager James Nebeker who has been amazing for the past two shows as commandant. He would also like to thank his assistant loft manager Chris Furman for being a great sidekick. And for the last and final time, thank you duct tape. Sean Kimecik (Stage Crew) is a junior who is on stage crew for his first time, and is mortal enemies with Peter Enzinna. That is all, thank you. Caroline Lang (Esperanza) is thrilled to be able to be in another awesome GDA production and even more excited that the number of times she is called “Katie” has dropped exponentially from last year. She would like to thank her parents, friends, Katie, and the fabulous cast and crew for tons of dedication and a few laughs here and there... Katie Lang (Maria) is thrilled yet saddened to perform in her 5th and final GDA production. She would like to thank everyone involved with GDA - her friends, fellow cast members, and especially the production staff - for making each of the last four years one of her most treasured high school experiences. She would also like to thank her family, especially her mother, for making her involvement in theater possible. Katie has loved every minute of GDA, and can’t wait to come back and see the shows after she graduates. Joe Lavin (Percussion) is in the pit for his first Gonzaga production. He would like to thank his friends and family for their support.

Congratulations

to the very “Cool” and “…oh, so pretty” cast & crew of

WEST SIDE STORY!

And extra applause, hugs, and kisses to

Katie & Caroline Lang Love,

Mom & Dad

He would like to thank Mr. L’Etoile for starting him off in the GDA, clutch Frosty Runs, and his bestest, Umrah. He would like to thank facebook-hacking and long-periods-of-inactivity during practice. Oh and he’s a senior in his 6th GDA show. Britt Lewis (Tony) is thrilled to be in his 7th GDA production (MSND, Annie, FP, G&D, DY, SOOT); however, it is a bittersweet moment for him because it is also his last. He would like to thank God, his family, especially his mom and dad, the production staff, and his friends, especially PBF, PJC, and last but not least EBF, for all contributing to make him the person he is today. Lastly, he hopes you enjoy the show! Caroline Livaudais (Cecelia) is a sophomore and thrilled to be in her second GDA show. Thanks to her family, especially Mom and Dad, friends, the cast/crew, and all her Oakcrest girls (Clare – I’m SO excited!) Liza Manfred (Mary Jane) is so thrilled to be in her 3rd Gonzaga show. She would like to thank her fantastic family, her phenomenal friends for making everything a tad more exciting, and her crazy carpools, yes, even you Julie. You all are incredible! Nicholas Marcou (Raton) is a sophomore at Gonzaga and plays the role Raton in West Side Story. He is, however, slightly concerned that he is being compared to a rat. WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Katie McEnery (Pam) is a sophomore in her fourth GDA production. She would like to thank her friends and family for their support. Bobby McGowan (Assistant Light manager) is currently in his fourth and final show as a member of stage crew. Bobby would like to give shout outs to Carl, Steve, Nebz, Mariah, Will, and all the others who made his two years on the GDA fun and crazy. Also, he would like to thank his family for their love and support. Several committees have approached Liam McLaughlin (Drums) asking the same question: as the drummer, is he a Shark or Jet? Although he has ties to both entities, the answer is neither; Liam instead pledges his allegiance to an underground company of New York City sewer druids.

Brendan McMahon (Sky) is a sophomore and is excited to be in West Side Story. He loved being in MSND in the fall and hopes to continue in the GDA. Thanks to the cast and crew and directors! Brandyn Miller (Stage Crew) sophomore, does not want any gloves, and would like to thank all cast and CREW, Mr. Buckley, friends, and all seniors who helped put together the set. Now remember kids… “Renew the face of the Earth” Tyler Moran (Stage Crew) was here. James Nebeker (Stage Manager) is a senior on stage crew. This is his eighth show and he’s still trying to get it right. Somehow he was anointed Stage Manager and has been getting the job done with the help of his unparalleled, elite stage crew. He could not have made it this far without the help of the plethoracopia of people who guided him on his journey. Thank You. Doug Newell (Gee-Tar): “Given how sweet MSND was, I decided to hop on board the West Side Story train and have had a ball. I’ve met so many new people through the GDA this year and have gotten to really know people I otherwise probably wouldn’t talk to. This has been a blessing to me and a perfect way to finish my last year at Gonzaga. Thank you all. G ‘08 fa life.” Patrick “Hazmat” Oliverio (Stage Crew) is a junior and is on stage crew for the 5th time. Whenever possible, Patrick likes to go to Airshows, and enjoys watching the Military Channel. Patrick would like to be a pilot in the Marine Corps, or the Navy. You can see him after the plays wearing Camouflage pants with black Combat boots. Ryan O’Toole (Chino) cannot believe this is his fifth, and last, show at Gonzaga (MSND, Annie, G&D, DY). He will miss the GDA more than anything and would like to thank all cast, crew, friends, family, and faculty, especially Mr. L’Etoile and Mrs. Lodato. More thanks to Skippy (the best tour guide-wink), the sarcastic back of the GDA bus, Britney Spears, Elle Woods, Clinton ‘08, the Lecherous Lunch, 3rd period Psych, and RiRi, Laura, Pat (x2), and Wilson for rides. He would like to thank his family and friends for their support. Will Pizzano (Bernardo) is a senior in his first GDA production. He thanks his friends and family for their support. Nick Pugliese (Pepe) sends love to the swim team tiki, his Spanish II class, XCIII, and every individual even remotely associated with the cinematic jewel “Leprechaun 4: In Space.” He thanks a certain pair of maidens and their solitary chalice, apologizes to two female psychologists who heard Kevin Leahy make a very inappropriate remark in an elevator, and thanks all the people who’ve made his Gonzaga experience so incredible- you know who you are. ShaNiece (Blaze) Pyles (Lupe) is a freshman at Georgetown Visitation appearing in her first GDA musical! “I have had so much fun and made many new friends. A special thank you to my Aunt Carmella for her continued support, I could not have done it without her. I love you Papa and Grandma!” Elizabeth Regan (Sophie) is a freshman at Visitation. This is her first dramatic production, though she has been in two productions of “The Nutcracker” with Olney Ballet Theatre. This is Calvin Reyes’ (House Manager) seventh and last show with the GDA. Claire Reynolds (Anybodys), a Visitation junior in her third Gonzaga production, loves the stellar seniors who have made this experience incredible and unforgettable, strange noises, tribal dancers, her meowing buddy, her team for letting her do this, the awesome audience, coordinated snapping, and the JETS. Juan Sebastian Roa (Indio) would like to thank Mr. Schlegel and Doc Warman for pushing him to perform in West Side Story, his family for pushing him to try something different, and his friends from and out of school coming to see this presentation. He hopes everyone enjoys it as much as he enjoyed getting it ready for the public. Mariah Rollins (Stage Crew) would love to thank Kevin, Laura, Danny, Chris, Patrick, Michael, RyRy, Bill, Nick, Bobby, William, Wilson, and Corey for being her inspiration, love, and joy the past four years. He would like to thank his family and everyone who put up with him for being really lazy. Peter Sanneman (Glad Hand) is in his third GDA production, after G&D and Annie. Much love AJ, Wilson, and Timmy for being adults with him and especially love to “the family.” John Shannon (Stage Crew) is a senior at Gonzaga College High School. Go sharks who walk bad and bite hard.

Congrats to Katy Warren and the entire cast & crew of West Side Story! We can’t wait to see you dance the night away! Love, Mom, Dad, Collen & Christy

Pat Stranix (Big Deal) is pretty siked to be in his 2nd GDA show. He learned a lot of things from the GDA, including that he had great dancer legs. Turns out that something he decided to try out for on a whim in the fall turned into one of the best experiences he had in his four years at Gonzaga. He only wishes he had done it sooner. He’d like to thank his friends, family, the broletariat, Bill Brasky, and especially the seniors, who made it one of the most awesome he’s ever had. Danny Sygar (Luis), in his final year at Gonzaga, has climbed the ladder from lowly usher to honorable tech crewman, and finally into the cast of WSS and it feels so good. He has appeared in other fabulous productions like Back Stage, Dorm Life, and the infamous Appalachian Tale. Many thanks go out to his family, friends, and sweetheart for all their support. She gives a special shout out to all the wonderful friends she made and she has loved being part of West Side Story. Brandon J. Wallace (Toro) is a singer with a bass voice, and a visual artist. He’s 5’9’’ and enjoys long walks on the beach, reading comics, movies, and most of all the people who care about him. Katy Warren (Anita) is a senior at The Potomac School. She is honored to be playing the “sharp and knowing” Anita, in her first and sadly last show with GDA. She would like to thank the entire cast for welcoming her as a new senior, Ms. Tarone for being so amazing, and her family for their continuous love and support. “Oh my God you guys...we are so S-U-P-E-R!” This is Justin Welch’s (House Manager) 8th and final show with the GDA, and 4th as House Manager. He wants to thank anyone who has ushered for him, especially Jordan M., and Calvin Reyes his Co-House Manager. He would like Calvin to know that he loves him. Oh, and thank you to Meghan, Mr. B, Mr. “Big Star” L’Etoile, and Mr. S.

Jimmy Williams (Assistant House Manager) and Tommy Chambers are juniors at Gonzaga. They often team up to form the best Assistant House Manager duo this dimension has ever seen. They would both like to thank Geoff Field for being their inspiration. Tommy Williamson (Snowboy) is “super psyched” to be ending his high school career as a cast member of West Side Story. Michael Woodhull (Stage Crew) is happy to be in his third show. He has seen it all from his first time in GDA as Conveener in SOOT to assistant stage manager in WSS. He would like to thank pretty much everyone on the face of the planet for being here but especially Jaz, Halo, Laura and Mariah, Bill David Conner Rakesh, and Alden Andrew Matthew Emily Elizabeth.
