INTRODUCTION ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
After such a long winter it’s a relief to be able to finally look forward to summer and to the 2013 event season. Whilst we have a few months yet before Revival in September we are already well progressed with our plans for the event and are very keen that we share these with you now via this handbook.
EARLS COURT AND SPONSOR PAVILIONS
It’s worth reiterating that the handbook was originally produced to act as a single source of all the key information related to The Revival, ultimately making it easier for our Goodwood Partners and their agencies to engage with the event. For 2013 we have very much continued in this spirit but made a number of refinements based on your feedback. The most obvious change is that this handbook has been published online to make it easier for you to navigate around the information. Much of the event planning at Goodwood now starts much earlier in the year, the publication of this handbook in June is testimony to that, which ultimately means we face far fewer last minute challenges so our partners are able to get more from the event. In order to do this we do need your support with adhering to our deadlines and ensuring we have the information we need in good time – please can you assist in any way you can to support this, as it is in all our best interests.
HIGH STREET AND OVER THE ROAD
As always, your Account Manager will remain your first point of contact for any Goodwood-related questions. They will be able to direct your question or requirement to the relevant team on the Estate but will always stay in touch to ensure nothing is missed. If you are unsure of who your Account Manager is then please let me know, or even if you have any event-related questions or feedback, as I would always like to hear your thoughts on your experiences with Goodwood. It is important that you sign and return the Receipt and Compliance on p46 as confirmation that you have read and accept the terms contained within this handbook. If you have any questions at all, please contact your Account Manager.
GENERAL INFORMATION
I can’t wait for Revival 2013 and I’m looking forward to seeing you then, if not before.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Very best wishes

Goodwood Park is listed Grade 1 on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. It is host to an Ancient Scheduled Monument and also forms part of the South Downs National Park, each securing the highest grade of protection for land and buildings. As such, all excavations are strictly prohibited. Failure to adhere to these terms will lead to financial penalty, the amount of which will be determined and measured based on the damage caused. 16
Extreme care should be taken when operating in and around your stand space. Any damage to the ground and grass beyond reasonable wear and tear will be charged at £150 per sq/m. Due to our Soil Association organic status, the pouring of wastewater and foreign liquids straight into the ground is strictly prohibited. Failure to adhere to these terms will lead to penalties. You are requested to manage all forms of liquid waste responsibly and in line with current legislative controls. Due to the organic status of Goodwood Park, foreign soils, fills and ground make-up may only be laid on a ground-protective membrane and must be removed by the stand builder post event. The use of foreign soils is strictly subject to the approval of Goodwood through your Account Manager. Consequently, the distribution of woodchip is at Goodwood’s discretion. Temporary access and ground protection will be planned with your stand builder. Goodwood alone has the right to specify the volume of additional trackway required and will charge accordingly. All trackway will be laid prior to construction works commencing. All exhibition sites need to be scanned for underground services by Goodwood. Please confirm that this action has taken place with the Event Operations Team by calling Goodwood Control on 01243 755110 prior to any works commencing on site.

Each plot is located around the perimeter of the structure, facing into the main central walkway. Your Account Manager will send you detailed floor plans including specific height restrictions.
HIGH STREET AND OVER THE ROAD
The perimeter walls of the venue are clad with an aquamarine wall to a height of 2.4m. Sponsors may not fix items to this wall under any circumstances. Each stand will be provided with the following:
GENERAL INFORMATION
• Dark blue carpeting – if you wish to put your own flooring over the top of this carpet, please discuss this with your Account Manager and in your Production Meeting, see p21. Please note that if you are placing any form of raised platform that disabled visitors must be considered.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
• Electrics – single 32 amp supply, which is enough power for small items such as computers, LCD screens and simple lighting. However, if you anticipate plugging in equipment that draws a lot of current or you need an alternative power supply, please fill in Form 1.1 on p47. All electrical appliances must carry a current and valid Portable Appliance Test certificate (PAT). Fee
• Any music played must be in keeping with the period. • Sponsors may install their own back walls and dividing walls which must be completely selfsupporting and may not fix into the fabric of the building – the height limits vary dependent on the position of the stand within the hall. Stand specifics will be sent by your Account Manager. • The reverse side of all walls must be completely covered in a plain and neutral finish. • Each Sponsor may display up to four vehicles and all set dressing must be kept within the allocated stand area. We recommend that vehicles are displayed on plinths rather than directly on the floor. • Your plot should include at least one ‘contemporary’ car (of the late 1950s or 1960s), as well as some ‘concept’ cars showing your company’s (uncannily accurate!) visions of what production cars might look like in the early 21st Century. As with the rest of the event, the overall display will not be set in a specific timeframe, but rather at some unidentified point prior to 1966. • Fire exits next to stands must be kept clear at all times during the event i.e. during build-up, the open days and breakdown. Nothing may be positioned to obstruct access to the exit routes to the fire doors. If, from any angle, the emergency exit sign is obstructed by any stand building, the exhibitor is responsible for providing the appropriate replacement illuminated exit sign.

TICKETING
Each Sponsor is required to cover the £2,000 cost for Goodwood to provide the space ready for the Sponsor to set dress. It also covers the cost to remove any waste created, please see Waste Removal on p19 for further details. This will be invoiced along with any other on event costs.
Each plot should be presented as much as is practical in the style of a traditional Motor Show of the 1950s or 1960s. Goodwood reserves the right to request amendments to any designs, either pre-event or on site, that it deems necessary. Any alterations necessary would be at the Sponsors cost.

Journalists Goodwood invites several hundred journalists, both UK and International. We also encourage our Goodwood Partners to invite their own journalists, who will need to be accredited in order to gain entry to the event. TV Crews The Goodwood Revival attracts large crowds and media interest from around the world. TV exposure needs to benefit the event and the Sponsors as well as the TV companies that attend. At the same time we must manage the TV broadcast and associated rights so as to protect the rights and interests of existing (and future) broadcast Partners who have made a significant financial contribution to Goodwood for international programme rights. Therefore, attendance of TV crews at the event is restricted to bona fide and approved broadcasters and sponsors in order to maintain an efficient, safe and suitable working environment.

Goodwood has agreed a Charter in conjunction with Chichester and Arundel Hotels Association and the West Sussex Tourism Initiative. Its purpose is to ensure that sufficient quality hotel accommodation is available to Goodwood’s key Sponsors and competitors throughout the Revival, whilst also ensuring that those hotels that support the event are not unduly compromised by assigning much of their available accommodation to Goodwood’s Partners. It is imperative that any party expecting to secure accommodation through Goodwood agrees to support this Charter fully and unconditionally and it is on this basis that Goodwood offers help to sponsors in sourcing accommodation.
EARLS COURT AND SPONSOR PAVILIONS
During the Goodwood Revival the demand for nearby hotel accommodation far outweighs supply and the only way for Goodwood to secure a suitable service for its Sponsors is to act as an intermediary.

STAFF WRISTBANDS ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
Each member of staff working at the event will be required to wear a wristband to both enter and exit the event. This must be worn at all times. There are two types of wristband dependent on your role, a Sponsor’s Wristband and a Sponsor’s Access All Areas (AAA) Wristband, both will allow you access into the event.
EARLS COURT AND SPONSOR PAVILIONS
Both these wristbands need to be ordered by filling in Form 1.2 on p48 by Friday 26 July. You will need to ensure these are distributed to your staff in plenty of time prior to the event as without them they will not be able to gain entry. Sponsor’s Wristband
HIGH STREET AND OVER THE ROAD
This is what most of your staff will be required to wear and it is equivalent to a General Admission Ticket and will not allow the wearer into any of the VIP areas. Please see image below.
AAA Wristband New for 2013, the AAA pass is a now a wristband rather than a swing badge and it also allows you entry into the event so you do not need to wear a Sponsor’s Wristband as well. This wristband is equivalent to a VIP Swing Badge and will allow you into all the VIP areas listed on p41, so you can entertain your guests.
