Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to look through my portfolio. If it’s true that a picture can be worth 1,000 words, then my sincere hope is that this living document gives some insight into what I am as a designer - and who I am as a person. The following collection of projects acknowledges the breadth and depth of human experiences that can be influenced through good design. They are merely stepping stones towards the bigger picture. Design is not life. Design is a lifestyle. It’s just happens to be an exciting medium to experience life.

Komorebi
duality of light and shadow Komorebi is a Japanese word that roughly translates in English to ““sunlight filtering through leaves of trees” but there is more soul to the phrase than what can be said. The translucent golden glow, the random pattern of shadows cast, and the tenderness of sunlight leaks through.

We were humbled by the experience of walking through the tall redwoods in Santa Cruz, California. Fascinated by this feeling of existing within an intimate space yet being outdoors, we sought to emulate that experience through design. We thought to bring it back to the domestic environment for children as their creative space.
9
imagine & play My team and I sought to provide a space in the domestic household where children could be themselves, uninhibited from daily distractions. We wanted to design a structure that would establish a sense of shelter without isolating itself from the outside world. Whether they use it as a meditative sanctuary or for creative play, it´s up to their imagination how they wish to interact with the structure.

Prosthesis
Colombia 4.5833° N, 74.0667° W Landmine accidents in Colombia have posed a serious problem particularly in the regions of Antioquia and Meta. Children who play in the fields sometimes come across old landmines that have been left scattered. Secondary to landmine incidents are motor vehicle accidents, and snake bites. The common occurrence of these injuries has resulted in an increased number of lower limb amputees, especially for young school aged children.
22
The focus of this project is to design a lowbudget, lower-limb prosthesis for children in Colombia. The product will consider MahavirKmina as the primary partner clinic, and as such the materials and technology shall match their available resources. Some of the main design requirements are to be durable, adjustable, and customizable.

During a semester studying abroad in Costa Rica, my colleague and I were struck from left and right by many new and different things. Among them in particular stood out two things: 1) Event-based time 2) Abundance and diversity of nature We wished to create a product that would embody and celebrate these phenomena, while utilizing Arduino. The result became an interactive wall clock that merely conveys an idea of time, and visually represents elements found in nature.

As a self-proclaimed casual PC gamer and pseudo tech geek, I wanted to create an experience of enjoying my favorite games on a large display. This drove me to design a projector that looked cool, even when turned off.

Foam to Form
Initial forms and proportions were validated using quick mock-up materials. Further surface details diverted away from the mechanical look towards softer curvatures.
