VVA Board of Directors Call to Order Susan Zalenski, lot 364, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the upper level of the clubhouse. Board members present were Mark Leggett, lot 72; Mike Booth, lot 1259; Tony Gronniger, lot 2281; Celeste Armanees, lot 62; Troy Lesan, lot 576; and Marvin McNabb, lot 28. Shad Mort led the Pledge of Allegiance and Mark Leggett led in prayer. Approval of Minutes Celeste Armanees moved to approve the minutes of the June 14, 2020 board meeting. Mark Leggett seconded; motion passed. Committee Reports Handbook Committee: No Report Finance Committee: Troy Lesan reported that at the halfway point in the year, we are experiencing an unexpected trend of our income numbers being up where we really didn’t expect them to be up. On a comparative basis, the association has actually brought in more funds all the way around than last year at this time. Income is up because the collection of dues and assessments are both up from last year. Adjusting out the extra revenues that did not exist in last year’s fi nancial statements, income is up by $98,000 while expenses are up by $33,000. Certain line items like income from building permits and collections are down while on the expense side payroll expenses and ramp gate expense is up with special lake expense down. Trash expense is also up. The COVID-19 situation has actually presented a reverse effect at Lake Viking. Real estate sales and deed transfers have spiked. The lake is as busy as ever. Earlier in the year, the board advised Lake Manager Shad Mort to hold back on spending for budgeted equipment and materials until we could get a better picture. At present, Shad is looking to go forward now with some of this spending and it now appears that funds will allow it. Shad will talk more about this in his Managers Report. Missy Leggett will continue to monitor interest rates for our CD’s that are maturing. Our two new members attended the meeting via telephone, and the committee immediately benefi tted from their expertise in accounting. The committee was in agreement that in addition to being refl ected in our funds summary, a line item needed to be immediately established for the proceeds of our PPE stimulus amount. John Kmetz informed the committee that his fi rm is advising clients that as long as these funds remain in limbo between being a loan or a grant, we need to post the amount under operating expenses as a liability/equity item. Then, if it becomes a grant as we are hoping, it is moved to the income side of the ledger. The committee also agreed on three goals and will fi nish with priorities sub-headings under each of these goals at next month’s meeting. Strategic Planning Committee: Susan Zalenski said the Strategic Planning Committee met on July 8 and they discussed three goals. Those

Going out with a huge bang! It was another great Fourth of July celebration at Lake Viking! The final event was held on Sunday, July 5. That was Jeff Hower putting on another of his famous anvil shoots in the area north of the clubhouse. This event, held at high noon, which was also viewed by boat traffic, finished the festivities with a really huge bang. The anvil picture was taken from Lake Viking Facebook and posted by Teresa Newport. The top picture was also taken from Lake Viking Facebook, posted by Mary Evans, a beautiful shot of the full moon in a haze of fireworks smoke at Lake Viking on the Fourth of July!
