POWER POINTS OFFICIAL RULES

WEEK 110 WEEK Games of Nov. Sept. 12 8 - 11 Games of - 15

1. Object of the game is to amass as many of the 136 weekly points as you can. Simply review the week’s schedule of games, listed on entry form, and decide which game you are SUREST of picking a winner in. Write the name of your projected winner on the 16-point line, and so on down to the 1point line, which game you figure to be a tossup. Next, fill in Tiebreaker 1, the total points scored by both teams in the week’s designated game. If this step fails to produce a winner, the judges will apply Tiebreaker 2, total offensive yardage from scrimmage in this game. If a winner still doesn’t emerge, a drawing will be held among those contestants still tied. Decisions of the judges are final. The contestant from the participating newspapers who tallies the most of the 136 possible points – or who survives any needed Tiebreaker procedure – will win the Grand Prize of either $1,000 or $500 depending on whether he/she has recorded a perfect score, including Tiebreakers. 2. Any entry form that does not contain a legible name, address, etc., will be disqualified. 3. Entries that fail to forecast a winner from each and every game will be disqualified, as will entries that fail to distinguish between the Jets and Giants of New York and other similarsounding team names. 4. when we lost the Trenton game to COVID. We just weren’t quite ‘there’ yet when we saw Milan in week 4. In that game, Milan was just better prepared than we were and it showed. That game was a great growth opportunity because we all saw what could have been if we executed better. We really buckled down and focused on fundamentals and just doing the simple things right over the next several weeks. It was during that time we really started to see our offensive line gel and become much more confident in what they needed to do. Our game against South Harrison was our breakout game. We knew they were the team to beat to share the conference and in our district and our kids showed up big time. After that week 8 game, the kids really began to believe we could do something special and that’s truthfully what it all boils down to, believing in yourself and in your teammates. Princeton will now face Hamilton in the district title game on Friday. Princeton’s last district championship appearance came in 2017. The Tigers faced Hamilton in that district final as well, winning 46-16 before falling the following week to East Buchanan in the state quarterfinals. Princeton and Hamilton kick off from Eddie Allen Field at 7 p.m. on Friday with the Class 1, District 7 title on the line.

Trenton Goes To Ticketing Program

Each athlete will receive four tickets for each home contest to disperse to friends and family. Visiting teams will receive two tickets per athlete. Entering the fourth quarter in Milan on Friday night, the Princeton High School football team trailed the host Wildcats 36-22 in the semifinals of the Class 1, District 7 Tournament. But Princeton had saved its best for last. The Tigers scored 20 unanswered points in the final stanza, rallying past Milan and punching their ticket to a district championship game this week against Hamilton, whom Princeton will host at Eddie Allen Field. “There were so many times you could feel the momentum shifting away from us but these kids always had an answer and never stopped fighting, Princeton coach Nathan Powell said. “This group of seniors have locked in on the process we go through every week and have grown tremendously as leaders and competitors. It was Riley Rhoades who swung the momentum in Princeton’s favor, intercepting a Milan pass and taking it to the house for a Tiger touch-

down. A 2-point conversion run by Eli Henke put Princeton within six points. But Princeton wasn’t done. Ben Berwanger and Henke each visited the end zone on touchdown runs after the Rhoades return and the Tiger defense kept Milan out of the end zone for the entire fourth quarter to close out the win. Berwanger and Henke did the heavy lifting for the Tigers. Berwanger led Princeton with 176 yards rushing and a pair of touchdown runs. Henke added 123 yards on the ground and scored three times. The win marked a measure of revenge for the Tigers, who were defeated by Milan 39-8 in the regular season back on Sept. 18. That was a game where the Tigers failed to score on four trips inside the 10-yard line. There was no such trouble for the Tigers this time around, however, as Princeton surpassed 40 points for just the second time this season and coming one week after their first 40-point performance, a 40-12 win over Scotland County in the opening round of the district tournament. Princeton has not lost since the regular season defeat against Milan. The latest win over the Wildcats was the seventh in a row for the Tigers. “Early in the season consistency is extremely important, Powell said. “We were still working some new faces in on offense and defense and just trying to get our feet under us

school commons will not be available during winter sports contests. In the same news release, Trenton also announced all middle school events will be held in the high school gym this year to give fans more opportunity to socially distance themselves from other fans. Trenton’s first winter sports event will be tonight, when the middle school wrestling team hosts Marceline at 5:30. Trenton’s middle school basketball teams will host Pattonsburg in a four-game set on Thursday, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The first home high school event will be on Friday, Nov. 20 when Trenton hosts Macon in a girls-boys doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.

Missouri Health Officials Scrambling To Trace Virus Cases ST. LOUIS (AP) — Local health departments in Missouri don't have enough staffers to conduct contact training for all of the COVID-19 cases popping up, so they have been prioritizing the ones they try to trace back to their sources, officials said.

The coronavirus has been surging in many states in recent months, including Missouri, where the rate of positive tests over the past two weeks is more than double the national average, according to The COVID Tracking Project. Larry Jones, who heads the

Missouri Center for Public Health Excellence, said local health departments in the state are struggling to keep up with contact tracing, which helps determine how a disease is spreading. “There are more cases and contacts to follow up with than

contact tracers have time for, Jones said. “This means days can go by between the time that someone is exposed and when they are called by a contact tracer. Missouri on Sunday reported 4,131 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and three

more deaths from the disease caused by the coronavirus. That pushed its death toll since the pandemic began to 3,153. The seven-day rolling average of daily new cases in Missouri has risen over the past two weeks, from about 1,789 new cases per day on Oct. 24 to about 3,126 as of Saturday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. James Hinrichs, an infectious disease expert with the St. Louis County Health Department, said investigators can't keep up with the 250 to 300 new cases that are reported in the county each day. Recently, there have been days when more than 500 new cases

were reported in the county. “We generally can only reach, on a daily basis, about 30% to 40% of the new cases at present, Hinrichs said to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. So staff prioritizes the cases in workplaces and schools that could lead to outbreaks. Jefferson County health department program coordinator Jeana Vidacak said children, long-term care residents and those older than 65 get interviewed first. Others aren’t reached for several days if at all. “We are not able to keep up. We are definitely behind, Vidacak said.

Audit Finds $8M In Potential Missouri Medicaid Overpayments COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri overpaid as much as $8 million for Medicaid health care for out-of-state residents and prisoners in recent years, according to a state audit released this week. State Auditor Nicole Galloway's office found the state overspent as much as $6.6 million for 2,600 on health care for patients with out-of-state addresses through the state's managed care system between July 2017 and June 2019. Medicaid is a government program that provides health care coverage for low-income adults, children and people with disabilities. Missouri works with managed care companies as middlemen to provide Medicaid care at a lower cost.

The audit also identified $1.7 million in state payments for 500 patients who were incarcerated for at least some of that three-year period. Missouri law at the time required the state to kick people off Medicaid when they were jailed or imprisoned. Current law requires Medicaid be suspended for those patients so officials can check to see if they qualify for an exemption. “At a time when every dollar is being stretched to deliver vital services to Missourians, state government must stop wasting resources, Galloway said in a statement. “The millions in payments for prisoners and non-Missouri residents is unacceptable. Missouri's Department of Social Services, which over-

sees Medicaid, said problems with the state's data system required the agency to exempt some recipients from regular eligibility checks to prevent eligible patients from improperly losing coverage. The agency said staff have been working to check those patients' eligibility now that data

system errors have been fixed and cited annual eligibility checks enacted in 2018. “This audit confirms that the DSS’ action to implement annual renewals in 2018 and 2019 to verify continued eligibility was the correct action, the agency wrote in a response included in the audit.

Galloway, a Democrat, on Tuesday lost a bid to unseat Republican Gov. Mike Parson. During her campaign, she frequently criticized his administration for dropping close to 90,000 children from the state's Medicaid health insurance program. State officials cited a drop in

unemployment and improved efforts beginning in 2018 to purge Medicaid rolls of people who were not eligible. Department of Social Services Acting Director Jennifer Tidball has said that about a third of people who lost coverage didn’t answer letters to renew their eligibility.

Dear Annie: It sounds like Shut-Out Grandma's daughterin-law has borderline personality disorder. One of your readers' advice to read "Stop Walking on Eggshells" by Paul Mason and Randi Kreger was great. It was very helpful for me. -- Another Grandma Dear Another Grandma: Thank you for writing. As you will see in the next letter, yet another grandma has some wonderful suggestions. Dear Annie: Here is a suggestion for the shut-out grandma. She can mail thoughtful gifts to her granddaughter periodically. I send a small present every two to three months to my granddaughter who is the same age. I just mailed a little pair of binoculars, a booklet about the different kinds of birds in her area, a bird-call gadget and a small wire cage with a bird seed duet cake. Quality sketching, drawing and painting supplies from an art store; sewing materials; or fabric craft supplies -- these all can be helpful gifts. The point is to give some

Her granddaughter might forget what her grandma says, but she will never forget what she does, especially the special care packages. I'm a happier grandma now, and my granddaughter loves me. -- Happier Grandma Dear Happier Grandma: These are fantastic ideas for getting around an otherwisesticky situation. Thanks for writing. Dear Annie: During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has proven very difficult for my daughter, who is a freshman in college, to meet new friends. All of her classes are online; she lives at home; and most of her friends went out of state to college. Our county has some of the strictest quarantine rules in the country, which limits her options. I'm worried about her mental health. This time in a young person's life is very dif-

Social media companies already face plenty of uncertainty, what with regulatory threats and the pressure they face in how they handle electionrelated and other misinformation. But there are other longer term misgivings on the business front — and investors are watching closely. Facebook and Twitter reported strong earnings on Oct. 29 that easily surpassed analysts’ expectations. But both issued warnings about possible shakiness in the online advertising market that generates the vast majority of their revenue. Facebook predicted a “significant amount of uncertainty,” as did Twitter. In particular, Facebook noted continuing concerns about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the broader economic

outlook and whether consumers may swing away from e-commerce if things normalize. All could affect online-ad growth. Many companies are reassessing ad spending, assuming they have money to spend. Small businesses, which are crucial for Facebook, are struggling. Facebook may also have a reputation problem. With all the criticism it’s faced around hate speech and misinformation, eMarketer analyst Debra Aho Williamson expects more advertisers will take a skeptical look at their reliance on the social media giant. That could theoretically benefit Twitter, although its third-quarter user numbers also disappointed analysts. Year-over-year change 25%

ficult in the best of circumstances. Do you have any ideas for young people to connect with others during this unprecedented time? -- Concerned Mom Dear Concerned Mom: This is such a difficult time for all of us. I am sorry that your daughter had to start one of the most exciting times of her life virtually. This is a time to think outside the box and be flexible with different and new ways to communicate with friends. She could schedule a call, Zoom, FaceTime or Houseparty with friends, especially those out of state. Encourage her to go for an outdoor walk with friends who live in your county and are dealing with the same strict quarantine rules. I know it is not the same. Try and remember that this is a moment in time that will pass soon. "Ask Me Anything: A Year of Advice From Dear Annie" is out now!
