DEATH HAS MEANING

Just about everyone has been touched by death at one time or another, whether it is a close relation or a dear friend. We mourn, perhaps we look for a message.

Each death has a meaning of its own and may play a role in influencing our lives.

Indeed, many authors have pointed out that ONLY because our lives are finite do they have meaning. Many times, individuals have been spurred by the death of another into a significant discovery or great accomplishment.

We feel an urgency to do all we can, love all we can. Sometimes these feelings pass, but other times they lead us to rededicate

our lives in some positive way.

This is not to say that death is, per se, a positive force. A loss is, after all, a loss. However, sometimes a tragedy, an untimely death can jolt the living into appreciating and making the most of the time alloted to us. In many ways, this is the ultimate legacy left behind by those we have loved.
