GRUNDY COUNTY COMMISSION

Weekly Meeting

Computer Breach Letter Sent To Employees The Grundy County Commission addressed a recent cyber security breach of county computers and discussed a proposed policy for mental health transports during a meeting on Tuesday, which also involved an appointment to the Grundy County Health Department Board of Directors. Presiding Commissioner Phil Ray said the county will send a letter to employees indicating that the cyber attack occurred and compromised several computers, network hardware and the county’s primary server. The letter indicates information contained in the employees’ personnel file, such as name, address, birth date and Social Security number, may have been exposed and that the county will continue to work closely with law enforcement agencies to resolve the issue in the most effective manner pos-

sible. Ray also said the commission discussed a proposed policy that would require a law enforcement officer be present when the ambulance crew transports a subject for a mental health evaluation. He said no action will be taken until protocols can be established concerning which law enforcement agency would provide an accompanying officer in specific situations. The commission appointed Trenton resident Taylor Ormsby to serve on the Grundy County Health Department Board of Directors, replacing Bev Hooker, who has moved from the county. Mrs. Ormsby will fill the remainder of Mrs. Hooker’s term, which expires in April, and See County, Page 8
