Grundy County has added five new cases of COVID-19 since last Thursday, June 18. The Grundy County Health Department reports 17 total confirmed cases for the county as of Monday morning, with seven of the cases remaining active. A probable case means the case meets clinical criterial and epidemiologic evidence (close contact with a confirmed or probable case; travel to or residence in an area with sustained ongoing community spread; or a member of a risk cohort as defined by public health authorities) with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19 Since Monday, June 15, the county has seen positive COVID-19 testing numbers rise by seven. Grundy County reported its first two cases on May 21. Sullivan County also saw its numbers rise over the weekend, with 106 cases now reported - an increase of six. See COVID, Page 3

Briefs... Polling Places Cha anged Registered voters in Lincoln and Harrison townships as well as Trenton’s Second Ward will have a new polling place beginning with the Aug. 4 Primary Election. According to Grundy County Clerk Betty Spickard, Second Ward voters will cast ballots in the Sugg Room of the Ketcham Community Center rather than in the Frey Building as has been in the past. They will be joined by Lincoln Township voters, who had previously voted at Tindall until recently when that polling location closed and they were moved temporarily to the east side of the lower level of the courthouse. Harrison Township voters, who had also been moved to the east side of the courthouse, will now vote with Third Ward in the fellowship hall of the First Christian Church. Voters in those precincts will be receiving new voter registration cards and should be watching for a yellow envelope in the mail that will provide them with this information. Absentee balloting for the August Primary begins on Tuesday, June 23 in the county clerk’s office, located on the second floor of the courthouse.
