Augustrasse Do you read me? A quirky book store filled with wacky zines and more independent magazines than you could carry out of the store. Interested in art? Check out the KW contemporary, Eigen + Art and Galerie Deschler galleries for cool upcoming exhibitions are held all year round. Kasbah – easily found and well recommended by TripAdvisor, a restaurant where from the get go, you are transported into Morocco with welcoming staff and a brilliant variety of all your Moroccan favourites that will spice up your evening. An inviting place for the young, but definitely held down by the elderly – Clarchens Ballhaus is a quirky ballroom that has been hosting dance parties since 1913.
MITTE MUST: Go for a mooch in Weekday.
Spot of lunch: Cheap and cheerful, Ishin Japanese deli will not disappoint your tastebuds. Look out for the 5.50 happy hour sushi deal. Something not to be missed.

Weinmeisterstrasse The place to go for shopping, appealing to a youthful hipster crowd. Shops to look out for: Acne, Weekday, American apparel and Adidas silver store. For those with a few extra euros to spare, you will not be disappointed with the stores you will find in this area.

Hunt down the fountain of youth.
Place to go: East side gallery is the last remaining section of the famous berlin wall. The best time to go is in the summer for a nice walk with the family. Pitstop/hangout – Don’t miss Michelberger hotel. Hidden behind a grungy alley you are guided through, following signs to the ‘fountain of youth’ (their signature coconut water). Cool and alternative place for either dining or a quick coffee filled with blossoming fashionistas and bloggers.
Charlottenberg Camerawerk – looking for something quick and easy to do: a quality contemporary photo gallery just off Savignyplatz.
Split up by two areas, Kreuzberg is the most alternative neighbourhood. Shabby and cool you’ll be sure to find a young crowd here. Most popular for both eating and drinking, so if that tickles your fancy be sure to visit this side of town. Pitstop: Bateu Ivre – great for the nosy ones amongst you as it is a great spot for people watching. Low class feel with interesting décor. If you’re a bargain hunter or vintage lover this is the place to pick up some goodies. One of our favourites is Garage. Chalet – created by owners of former Bar 25, with an inside garden, it comprises of Berlin’s ‘hipster’ crowd. Bright orange or neon green sunglasses? Check. Too fashionable or too intentionally unfashionable outfits? Check. Ready to discuss art? Check.

Be sure to get your face embellished in the downstairs room in Cookies.
Could be described as the 5th Avenue of Berlin, you can feel the spirit of New York. Make sure to pack your gladrags as this area attracts the flashier crowds. Galeries Lafayette brings a piece of Paris to Berlin embracing iconic monuments such as a mini Eiffel Tower as a centre piece of the store. We would say it’s the Harrods of Germany. Check point Charlie is a must see if history is your cup of tea. Then bring some culture to your day by experiencing Eat Cha Cha: Berlin’s answer to wagamamas. Bringing a whole new level of cool to a nightclub, Cookies brings a trendy yet unusual experience to a night out. A far cry from what us Brits are used to, this is sure to bring you out of your comfort zone.
