Jeson Cooper’s journey began in the Bahamas, where he was born to his biological mother, Yvonne Edwards. In a moment of profound love, his mother’s best friend, Elaine Edwards (Bunny), delivered Jeson into the world and instantly knew she would cherish him for life. When Yvonne and Jeson moved to Miami with Bunny, her husband Leroy, and their children, they formed a close-knit family. Tragically, Yvonne passed away when Jeson was just eight years old, but Bunny stepped in without hesitation, providing the nurturing love that he so desperately needed.
As Jeson grew into a young man, Bunny ensured he had the support he needed. She encouraged him through school and took him to church along with his siblings. After graduating high school, Jeson embarked on a career as a barber - a trade that allowed him to express his creativity and passion.
In the barber shop, Jeson did more than just craft stylish haircuts; he fostered a sense of community. Each client who sat in his chair left feeling valued, not just for their new look but for the connection they shared with him. Jeson had a remarkable ability to listen to people’s stories, turning a simple haircut into a moment of joy and understanding.
His kindness extended far beyond his clients. Jeson shared a special bond with Bunny, dedicating time each day to helping her with errands, sharing meals, and simply being present for her. His love for his Auntie Bunny was evident in every small gesture, showcasing his deep understanding of the importance of family.
Jeson’s life was a testament to the values of service and love. He taught us the significance of caring for one another, even amidst the busyness of life. His laughter and warmth will be profoundly missed, but his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched.
Jeson leaves behind adoptive parents - Elaine (Bunny) and Leroy Edwards; siblings - Leroy, Carl, Winston, Michael, Richard, Charmaine, Judith, and Angela; aunt and uncle – Lorna & Gerald Johnson; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
As we remember Jeson today, let us honor his legacy by embodying his kindness, compassion, and sense of community. May we reach out to those around us, just as he always did.
