LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear Graland Community, In my August 2020 opening remarks to the community, I stated, “If we keep coming back to the child and trust that all involved place the child at the heart of what we do, we will continue to build a strong community, a community I believe will prevail in the face of this crisis.” This approach led us to great success; we opened our campus in August and maximized in-person days throughout the entire school year. This effort provided students with a sense of normalcy, as well as the structure and the relationships they needed to thrive and grow. In addition to being child-focused, we were also whole child-focused and did our best, within the health and safety constraints, to provide a holistic program that inspires students to become lifelong learners, artists, athletes, and leaders. In a year when many children have suffered learning loss, Graland students have continued to develop all the skills that they need to succeed.
Finding Joy
In addition to thriving as learners, our students have flourished by finding joy with their peers and teachers. I wish I could somehow capture the happiness and excitement I witnessed during the 165 days we were in person last year. Because we are a PreK-8 school, that childhood enthusiasm infuses our campus. It is one of the reasons why I have always loved working at Graland and educating this age range. Whether I am chaperoning a sixth grade trip to Mesa Verde, covering my pick up or lunch duty, or taking a peek out of my office window, the playfulness I see is indicative of the playfulness that occurs throughout each day here at Graland, even with masks, cohorts, and plenty of sanitizer. When you focus on young people, you are reminded of joy on a daily basis.
Gratitude
This past year, our community committed to serving the collective and specifically serving the children, as we each did our part to mitigate health risks and maximize in-person learning. The GPA did so much to keep us connected virtually and to bolster our educators and those who support them. Parents and grandparents consistently volunteered to help the school during this challenging time, from car line to community outreach. In addition, the school community demonstrated incredible generosity by exceeding our Annual Fund expectations. Finally, many showed their gratitude for teachers, who proved even more essential over the past year, by helping us successfully conclude the Inspire Campaign. I want to express special thanks to our Inspire cochairs, the Corrigans and the Freyers. During the 2021-22 school year, I look forward to reconnecting with our community. By putting children first, we cultivate a strong school-home partnership, and by strengthening that partnership, we put children first. While following that North Star and displaying the best traits of One Graland—the empathy, the understanding, and the gratitude, I know we will continue to climb mountains together for the sake of our students. Sincerely,
Josh Cobb Head of School

LETTER FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT Dear Graland Community, As the 2020-21 school year came to a close, and I reflected back on all that occurred over 12 months, there was one word that continued to ring loud and clear with me: gratitude!
2020-21 Board of Trustees
I am incredibly grateful and thankful for the job that Josh and his team did to keep our kids in school this past year!
President Bernie Dvorak
Josh’s North Star was to get our kids back on campus safely starting in August and maximize in-person learning. It was a tall task given where we stood at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. The Board committed to Josh to give him whatever support and resources were necessary to get the job done. The result was phenomenal! The team came out with a competitive fire and vigor to reach that North Star. The countless hours of planning by administrators, faculty, and staff, in an ever-changing environment with loosely defined rules on what could and couldn’t be done, was almost an impossible challenge. However, the team was laser focused. Mission accomplished and a job extremely well done!
1st Vice President Max Caulkins ’87 2nd Vice President Adam Farver ’92 Treasurer Jon-Erik Borgen ’92 Secretary Michelle Eidson
So, I have gratitude for: • Having a courageous, dedicated head of school who never lost sight of the North Star. • An administrative team and staff that worked tirelessly this past year. • Our world class faculty who learned how to teach through screens, masks, and any other sort of protective clothing, while continuing to do so with all the care, compassion, and grace they have always had. • Our supportive Graland community, including families, the GPA, the alumni, the medical advisory board, and most of all, the students! I am truly moved by the generosity of the entire school community this past year. Whether you gave philanthropically or offered the gift of your time, care, and talents, our kids were the biggest benefactors of all the work that went into One Graland! Also, I want to express gratitude to departing trustees Max Caulkins ’87, Courtney Dorn ’91 Hughes, and Jeff Allen. Their guidance, support, and dedication to the school over their years of service has been invaluable. I would also like to welcome incoming trustees Graham Williams ’92, Mimi Saavedra, and John Kuntz. At our May Board of Trustees meeting, the board elected Adam Farver ’92 to the position of President-Elect. Adam assumed those duties starting July 1. I look forward to working with Adam, Josh, and the entire Board during the 2021-22 school year. In closing, I want to reiterate the gratitude for our teachers, administrators, alumni and the supporting community that we are all so very fortunate to be a part of. Sincerely,

Thank You from the Development Office! Graland’s Development Office would like to extend special appreciation to all the community members who shared their time, talent, and treasure with the school during the 2020-21 school year.
Graland Welcomes the New Development Manager Anna Natassja Scheitler ’13 The Development Team would also like to introduce the newest member of the Development Office team, Anna Natassja Scheitler ’13, who will be leading alumni relations efforts and the Graland Annual Fund. A Denver native, Anna Natassja returned to Graland as development manager in July 2021. A proud alumna, she has many fond memories of being an Eagle. She is a firm believer that Graland shaped her into the person she is today and is looking forward to making many more memories during her professional career. Anna Natassja graduated magna cum laude from Bucknell University with a bachelor’s degree in English literary studies. In her free time, as a former NCAA Division I rower, she enjoys coaching junior rowing at the Mile High Rowing Club. When she is not on the water, Anna Natassja enjoys spending time in the mountains, reading poetry, and volunteering.

Volunteer Spotlight: Cynde Palmer No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. - Aesop
When asked to describe Graland parent and volunteer Cynde Palmer, some used descriptive words such as “thoughtful,” “energetic,” “warm,” and “kind.” Others used phrases such as “she does little things that make a big impact” and “she will always help in any way that she can!” Long before Cynde ever became a Graland parent and volunteer, she secretly hoped that her children would one day be students at Graland. So, as soon as her twins Amelia ’26 and Hazel ’26 became students, Cynde did not waste any time getting involved at the school. During a typical school year, you will find Cynde lending a helping hand, wherever is needed, with a smile. Over the years, Cynde has been a volunteer at the Graland Gallop, the VOA Snowflake Party, GPA outreach events, faculty and staff appreciation breakfasts, and potluck dinners. In addition, she has chaired the Graland Cares event, has been a warm and welcoming face in both the classroom and lunchroom, and is a frequent attendee at GPA meetings. For Cynde, it is not about the number of events she attends but the connections she makes when she gets
14
there. “Directly working with the kiddos is my absolute most treasured role,” Cynde shared. “The major bonus is working alongside supportive teachers, resulting in a deeper community connection. Realistically, the day will come when my children ask me to stop volunteering; coincidentally, this is the same day I learn to sneak around campus,” Cynde joked. If you are looking for new ways to get involved in the school community, Cynde will tell you the sky’s the limit! “There are numerous ways to participate, be it in-person or acting behind the scenes. Volunteering provides the perfect route of trying out various roles while making lasting friendships along the way. So choose your interests and get in there!” Cynde said. This year, Cynde is looking forward to volunteering on campus again and making up for lost time through reconnection and in-person events. To learn more about the different ways to get involved at Graland through the GPA, please visit graland.org/GPA.
VOLUNTEERS Graland is grateful for all the parent, grandparent, and alumni volunteers who shared their time and talent with the school during the 2020-21 year. Despite health and safety constraints that made volunteer opportunities challenging, so many people stepped forward and offered their service through faculty & staff appreciation activities, as carline volunteers, through community outreach opportunities, with classroom celebrations, and more. Graland would not be the same without these community members who are generous in spirit, sharing themselves with our students, faculty and staff. Thank you! Graland has increased its effort to recognize volunteers. The school apologizes to any volunteer whose name may have been inadvertently omitted. Please contact Jeri Volpe at 303-399-8370 or jvolpe@graland.org to report any errors or omissions.

Area of Greatest Need - Every day, annual fund dollars allow Graland to address the most critical needs for students and teachers, whatever they may be. This year, that included hiring flex teachers who stepped in to support teachers who were ill, on quarantine and/or wherever needed to allow the school to optimize on-campus learning for students.

Giving Back to Graland: The Corr Family After completing medical school and making countless moves across the country for work, Brad and Sara Corr, a gynecologic oncologist and internal medicine doctor were ready to put down roots and find a permanent home. For many years, the Corrs had their sights set on the Rocky Mountains - a place where they could not only continue to thrive in their careers but raise their family. So, when the perfect job opportunities opened in Denver, they knew it was time to make the move. With two young children, the search for an elementary school came not long after the move. “With how busy our work schedules are, I knew we needed a school that I could leave for work in the morning and not worry if my kids were learning what they needed to learn. I wanted to leave that to the professionals,” Sara said. While the Corrs liked a few of the schools they found, they realized it was the school in their new neighborhood that they loved. “We looked around at several schools with good reputations, and I think we just got extremely lucky that the best one was only blocks away from our house,” Brad said. While the Corrs were drawn to Graland’s strong academics, they quickly noticed that their children, Hannah (’25) and Charlie (’28), were receiving more than just an education at school. ALUMNI Dear Graland Alumni Community, It has been an honor and pleasure to work with fellow Graland Alumni Board (GAB) members as well as the school leadership to represent, support, and engage with Graland alumni in such an unprecedented year. During the 2020-21 school year the Alumni Board’s continued focus on inclusivity while adopting new technologies and communication platforms to continue to draw more alumni back into the Graland family and connect with one another. We are so proud of the strong connection so many alumni have to Graland and how so many of these alumni continue to stay involved and play critical roles at the school to this day. This includes: • • • • • •
76 current parents are Graland alumni 8 trustees are Graland alumni 17 former trustees are Graland alumni 9 grandparents are Graland alumni 3 faculty/staff members are Graland alumni 22 alumni board members
During the pandemic, the GAB hosted several forums and speakers via Zoom that were fantastic and incredibly interesting: • • • • • •
Mr. Hickey’s lesson on Greek Heroes and Mythology Dr. Anne Braun ’93 Zink and Dr. Beth Linas ’97 discussed their approach to the COVID-19 pandemic Two forums dedicated to Graland Alumni of Color Alumni discussion of Graland’s commitment to Equity and Inclusivity Frances Newton ’96 Stacy discussed Navigating “Economic Volatility in 2021 & Being a Part of the Solution” Dr. Brent Levy ’98, MD and Ali Levy ’00 discussed COVID-19 from the frontlines
I am immensely grateful for the more than 200 alumni who attended the alumni annual events that were held virtually: • The fall cocktail party honoring retired Master Teachers’ Andrean Andrus and Coach Dick Kinney and • The winter young alumni trivia event • Annual Graland Reunion with the presentation of the Ruth Gorham Alumni Award to Max Caulkins ’87 and celebrating the milestone years ending in 0, 1, 5, and 6 • Our second Graland in the Making event, which includes all alumni from Graland’s first 50 years, was held virtually with more than 75 in attendance. These alumni shared incredible stories of Graland’s early years. Participants to all these various events joined in from throughout the United States and from around the world. I am pleased to report that 233 alumni showed their support for Graland by making gifts to the school in 2020-21. Alumni gifts were directed to the Graland Annual Fund, financial aid, the school Archives, the Inspire Campaign for faculty compensation, the Nancy Nye ’39 Priest Memorial Fund, the Bradley Thomas Memorial Fund and the Robert Romero Scholarship Fund. It is affirming to see alumni “pay it forward” to support today’s students and teachers! Due to the pandemic, I strongly believe the sense of community and acceptance is more important than ever. I couldn’t be prouder of the GAB members and their active engagement to be creative and problem-solve around the pandemic and continue to connect with the greater Graland alumni community. We meet regularly throughout the school year on various forms of outreach. Don’t let the passage of time or the fact that you may live outside of Denver be a hesitation to get reconnected with Graland. We have come a long way since the early days of COVID and now have the capability to welcome participation from anywhere in the world. I encourage you to reach out to me or to any board member listed here to learn more about the GAB. We would be happy to suggest ideas, events or volunteer opportunities to support Graland and its ever-growing alumni community. I encourage you to reach out and connect with each other, see challenges as just stepping stones to something greater, and venture out and learn something new and know the Graland alumni community is behind you and cheering you on.

We seek to achieve this by encouraging alumni involvement with the school, representing alumni interests and advocating lifelong learning in accordance with the missions and long-standing traditions of the school.
Graland Southwest Trip - 50 Years Since Inception
With great preparation and many layers of health and safety precautions taken, Grade 6 students were able to once again attend the Southwest Trip, a hallmark of Graland’s historic experiential learning. This trip originated 50 years earlier, in 1971, and was the idea of teaching legend Nancy Nye ’39 Priest, who passed away in November 2020 at the age of 93. Students still camp on the same property as they have for the past several decades and cook meals at the campsite using a chuckwagon. Students use Pancake Rock as their recess area and explore the ravines and ridges while relaxing with their classmates. New just this year: students worked with a traditional mason to learn about puebloan structures and even laid sandstone bricks at a building site. For decades into the future, visiting students will be able to add their brick in a cumulative effort to learn about the ancient architecture and further build up the site. In future decades, the students will build a multi-room dwelling and possibly dig out a kiva site.

This award is presented to a member of the alumni community whose dedication and service to Graland exemplify Mrs. Gorham’s lifelong commitment to the school. “Max has always had the interests of the school as his top priority and I can think of no more deserving person for this wonderful honor. His contributions to Graland are remarkable and he should be recognized for an unparalleled commitment to an institution that he has held in such high regard.” - Jason Cooper ’84, Alumni Board Member

Alumni Shares Experience From the Front Lines Brent Levy, MD ’98 and Ali Levy ’00 led the conversation “Looking at COVID from the Front Lines” in June 2020, sharing their perspectives as an emergency department doctor in Denver, and the director of training for a company focused on the health of first responders, respectively. They cited Graland’s influence on their professional lives: “Graland’s program - especially Service Learning - helped me recognize that I am a part of something bigger than ‘self.’ I have always wanted to ‘pay it forward,’ and not do a disservice to the teachers and coaches who supported me so greatly throughout my elementary education years,” Ali said. Brent continued “I too have always chosen to ‘pay it forward’ thanks to Graland. Graland also instilled in me a love of learning, an awareness of grit and an appreciation for critical thinking.” 48

The Passing of Graland’s Beloved
Nancy Nye ’39 Priest
On November 20, 2020, Nancy Nye ’39 Priest passed away peacefully at her home. A graduate of the Class of 1939, Nancy was also a former Graland teacher who retired in 1995 after 43 years as a faculty member. During her teaching time at Graland, Nancy carried on the tradition of medieval knighting started by Ruth Gorham, and added to it the Roman Museum, and the Mesa Verde trip for sixth graders. As shared by her daughter, Susan Priest ’69 Pierce, “she firmly believed we could improve the world through a better understanding of cultures and their history.” As both a Graland alumna and teacher, Nancy epitomized the very soul and spirit of the school. Her tireless work with thousands of students, as well as her unselfish devotion to her community, made her a role model to many. At a Masters Teachers salute, John Caulkins ’81 stated about Nancy: “ She taught us that the past is something to relive, to experience, to let one’s imagination unfold. She knew that a fifth or sixth-grader has an even better sense of curiosity than an archaeologist, and just how important it is to kindle the imagination while teaching independence, self-discipline, and respect for others and the environment. Can you imagine a more hands-on approach to learning? In building our Roman museum, making shields for knighting, or identifying Anasazi potsherds, we pushed ourselves to better understand and relive the past.” Upon her retirement in 1995, Graland established an alumni award in her honor. For 25 years, the Nancy Nye Priest ’39 Alumni Award has honored alumni whose extraordinary contributions in their chosen field of endeavor are reflective of the exemplary qualities of the person, of Graland Country Day School, and of the global community in which we live. Graland has been pleased to recognize alumni who, through their work, commitment to community, and loyalty to the ideals nurtured at Graland, represented a fitting tribute to Nancy. Outside of her time at Graland, Nancy was an artist, a dedicated student, an appreciator of Southwest Culture and an avid lover of animals. She had dogs, cats, pigs (including a piglet that used to visit Graland’s Pre-Kindergarten class each day), chickens and was also a Navajo Churro Sheep breeder. Nancy was predeceased by her husband Ben G. M. Priest; her parents George M. and Ione F. Nye; her brother George M. Nye Jr ’44; and her niece Cathy Handwerk Rhodes. She is survived by her daughter Susan Priest ’69 Pierce of Houlton, Maine; Susan Handwerk ’42 (sister), Bayfield, CO; Camille Pierce, Hanover, NH; Ted Handwerk, Bayfield, CO; Carl Rhodes Newport, OR; Chris Rhodes and his children, Durango, CO; Ann Hunsaker ’61, Denver, CO; Nancy Hunsaker, Bradley Hunsaker, Debbie Spencer, Denver, CO; and good friends, Ted and Patty Tedesco, Karen and Gary Hansen, and Valerie Gates ’69. As shared by her family, Nancy’s ashes were scattered by the windmill on her property. Donations in her memory can be made to Graland’s Nancy Nye Priest Memorial Fund for student scholarship at graland.org/specialfunds. 49

“I just want people to see me. Just like I see them.” -Sam Loewi ’05
Samantha Loewi Scholarship Fund Begun in 2012, the fund was established as a tribute to Sammy Loewi ’05 who passed away at an early age due to complications of congenital muscular dystrophy. It was initiated to enhance training for students, teachers, and parents with regard to diversity and inclusivity efforts, and to assist students with diverse needs. Over time, the Fund has evolved, likewise supporting the Sam Loewi Unified Neighborhood Games, the culminating service learning event for Grade 4 students who spend their year building relationships with special buddies and learning kindness and respect for children who are physically and mentally different. Honoring Sammy Loewi’s Legacy by Di Nestel, Former Graland Faculty and Administrator
Sammy Loewi ’05 was a student of mine and someone I loved and admired quite deeply. I first met Sam when she, along with her parents Andy and Pat, visited Graland prior to her kindergarten year. Little did I know just what an inspiration she would be, for teachers and classmates alike. I remember one day she said to me “I just want people to see me – not the wheelchair, not the disease, not the clothes or shoes I wear, not what I can’t do. Just see me for who I am inside. Just like I see them.” That’s what the Sam Loewi Games are all about - really seeing one another and understanding that it’s what inside that counts. Sam’s legacy at Graland lives on through all those who have participated in the Sam Loewi Games. She inspired Graland to be a better school and all of us to realize our better selves. She left this earth way too soon but not without also leaving a legacy at Graland of the Sam Loewi Games and the Sam Loewi Fund. It’s a pleasure to donate to Graland, my home for nearly three decades. The Sam Loewi Fund allows me to give in Sam’s memory. Watching Sam navigate her challenges and grow into a confident young lady taught me a lot about compassion, humility, and perseverance. She inspired me and so many others to be our better selves. For that, I am so grateful and feel so blessed to support Graland and honor Sam by donating to the Sam Loewi Fund.

Legacy Giving - Dr. Andrea Sodano ’65 In 1999, Dr. Andrea Sodano ’65 approached Graland to establish a fund in honor of her mother: the Virginia Addison Sodano Scholarship Fund. Virginia Addison Sodano had a passion for learning, served as a recruiter for the United States Navy during World War II, and later worked for the United Nations Relief Association in China. She was a single parent who did an outstanding job of raising her daughter. She taught Andrea the importance of education and the joy of learning. Because education was a high priority, Virginia wanted her daughter to attend Graland Country Day School. With hard work on her part and scholarship assistance, her daughter was able to attend Graland and receive an outstanding education. To this day, Dr. Andrea Sodano values the strong educational foundation she received at Graland. From Graland she went on to attend George Washington High School, University of Colorado, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she earned her Ph.D. in clinical and organizational psychology, and fellowships at Yale University Medical school and Harvard Medical School. Her long career includes executive positions at IBM, Symmetrix, the Hay Group and Walmart. Dr. Sodano finished her career as an Executive in Residence, mentoring and creating internship programs for the Health and Life Sciences MBA’s, at the Boston University School of Business, where she served for 8 years. She is now fully retired and spends her time volunteering, participating on boards, and traveling post-COVID. Dr. Sodano’s gift signals her commitment to families facing similar financial challenges that she and her mother faced. She designed the fund to support a Graland student like herself, a financial aid recipient who is the child of a single parent. She is also a member of the Montem Society, having arranged with her estate to fund the scholarship in perpetuity upon her passing. In so doing, her gift allows future students to pursue their own joy of learning. “Graland and my mother created a community of caring, giving, educational stimulation, and challenge that provided me with lifelong learning and dedication to offering the same thing to the child of a single parent,” says Dr. Sodano. “Everything I am today is a result of that partnership. Graland has always been one of the best experiences I have had.”

Graland Loyalty Society Judge Richard Hart ’54
Judge Richard Hart ’54 has philanthropically supported Graland, its students, and its teachers each and every year, for well over three decades. He is a member of the newly named Graland Loyalty Society, which recognizes donors who make philanthropic gifts for five or more consecutive years. “Graland was a great place for a child to grow up,” he stated. “The friendships I made, and the teachers from whom I learned, prepared me and set me up for success throughout my life.” Judge Hart most fondly remembers the experiential learning at Graland. “The trips and the on-campus experiences outside of the classroom were most memorable. As were the teachers.” He especially reflected on classmate Tim Wirth ’54’s mother, Virginia Wirth Wiebenson ’32, who was an alumna herself and a faculty member from 1944 to 1975. After his time at Graland, Judge Hart attended The Frederick Gunn School (formerly called The Gunnery). He then attended Yale University for two years, majoring in physics, before attending the University of Munich for a year under a Wayne State University junior year program. Following his time abroad, he returned to Yale and pursued a degree in English for two additional years. Judge Hart received his law degree from the University of Colorado, continuing a multi-generational family interest in law. Following a successful private practice, Judge Hart was appointed by Governor Richard Lamm to the Fifth Judicial District Court bench, which includes Eagle, Summit, Lake and Clear Creek counties, in 1980. For 26 years, Judge Hart served in this capacity, retiring in the spring of 2006. At that time, the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution in recognition of his service, citing “...Judge Hart has served with ability, character, and fine judgment. His wisdom and understanding have been a constant benefit to the people of Eagle County.”
After he retired, Judge Hart was active with Judicial Resolutions, a state supported alternative to more formal Court action as well as Alpine Legal Services, a private group of lawyers providing services at reduced fees. Judge Hart resides in Carbondale with his wife, Jane. His children, Peter and Sacha, are married and live in Grand Junction and Carbondale. Judge Hart and Jane are proud grandparents to four wonderful children. He currently enjoys spending time with his family.
Graland is incredibly grateful for Judge Hart’s long-time and loyal philanthropic support. For more information regarding the new Graland Loyalty Society, please contact Jessica Goski at jgoski@graland.org or 303-336-3705.

GRALAND PARENT ASSOCIATION Hello Graland Families! As the Graland Parent Association, our continuous goal is to build community, promote volunteerism, and raise funds to support its programs. Looking back, 2020 has been described in many ways: unprecedented, exhausting, lost, chaotic, surreal, heartbreaking, transformative, and many more. As a community, we felt and experienced many things individually and collectively. As GPA President, the one word that resonated with me most, was grateful. I was continuously in awe of the support, involvement and positive attitude of our community, and I cannot thank you all enough for your contributions. The GPA council, committee chairs, room parents and grade reps worked tirelessly and seamlessly to provide opportunities for community and connection, which was especially challenging at a time where caregivers were not allowed on campus. While we may have not been together in person, we still connected in so many ways! We kicked off new initiatives such as the back-to-school kit, Halloween contests, and Lower School Kindness Week. We reimagined traditional events, like the virtual Graland Gallop with over 700 registrants (a Gallop record!), heard from speakers at various virtual PEN events such the Civil Discourse panelists, with wisdom from Kerry Stutzman and Lisa Damour, participated in our annual Book Fair, and were entertained during the reimagined Birch Street Virtual Family Bash (it was incredible!). We’ve helped our greater community with numerous monthly community outreach opportunities benefitting more than 12 organizations in the Denver area, and had a few physical interactions through morning parent coffees and year-end parties. We supported our faculty and staff with heartfelt contributions in Operation Appreciation and Project Superstar. Our phenomenal school spirit shone through Graland Spirit Store purchases. Our largest fundraising event of the year, The Eagle Invitational Golf Tournament, sold out. Importantly, our voices were heard and lifted through our Equity and Inclusivity representatives. Finally, your generosity provided robust year-end gifts to all faculty and special staff, and was sincerely appreciated. Through your incredibly impactful contributions, the GPA offered all of its programming for free or at a significantly discounted rate. This allowed us to operate under budget, and raise over $100,000 in funds! In turn, we have been able to further invest in more free programming for the 2021-2022 academic year, contribute to Graland’s technology needs, and further support student financial aid. It is your continued support, involvement and engagement in GPA programming that allows our community to thrive and grow, and I hope you continue to do so during your family’s time at Graland. I am deeply grateful to have served and shared with you -- thank you for supporting our school!

Inspire INVESTING IN FACULTY IMPACTING STUDENTS
Graland wishes to celebrate the 332 donors who collectively contributed $10.5 million in endowed funds to support faculty through the Inspire Campaign. The Inspire Campaign was launched in the 2018-19 school year with three objectives: • To increase faculty salaries to competitive levels with local public and private schools as well as independent school peers across the country, • To provide funding for individual faculty members who take the initiative to advance, and • To offer greater flexibility in order to recruit top candidates. Although the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted our campaign timeline, it did not impede the campaign’s goals. Gifts made to Inspire helped in elevating and remastering Graland’s faculty compensation system in alignment with our school values. In turn, these donations have impacted students and further advanced Graland’s overall program. Beyond the here and now, gifts to the Inspire Campaign established the Faculty Compensation Endowment. This endowment will provide financial support to the school in perpetuity, benefiting faculty for generations to come. The Inspire Campaign concluded this past summer, however faculty compensation will always be a development priority at Graland. If you are interested in making a gift in support of faculty compensation, please contact Jessica Goski at 303-336-3705 or jgoski@graland.org. Please note the below list represents all commitments made to the Inspire Campaign as of June 30, 2021.
