Graffiti Graphics On Monday 24th March, 57 Year 7 and 8 students had the opportunity to take part in a Level 5 - 6 Graffiti workshop delivered by London based company “Seven Stars agency. The session was led by Saul, a professional graffiti artist and it was clear to see how much he inspired the students. By the end of the day, all students had a creatively personalised piece of work which looked very professional once the recognised graffiti black edging was applied.

In addition the students visited the Ashmolean Museum, were treated to a History lecture from one of the college academics and, after a quick lunch, a walk across the city to the Science laboratories. Here, in their lab coats and goggles , the students carried out a two hour practical in Organic Chemistry. Mrs Stagg, who accompanied the students, was well impressed at the competency and confidence of the students when working in the laboratory.

The students were also given information about how to apply and what the interview process would be like. It may be a little early for The Grange students but believe it or not they will be applying to universities in just eighteen months time.

Prestigious Universities trip 26th - 27th March Taylor Goodall, Lauren Kelly, Bethany McComish and Robyn Nelson, four of our most able Year 11 students were invited to join with Year 12 students from Cronton, on a visit to Oxford University. They stayed at Pembroke College right in the centre of Oxford. Each was provided with a student room to sleep in and treated to meals in the wood panelled refectory. The aim of the visit was to show students what it would be like to be a student at Oxford. There were tours of Pembroke and Christ Church Colleges. The guide at Christ Church was from Widnes and was very down to earth answering questions about lectures, tutorials, societies and eating in the Great Hall (used in the film Harry Potter!)
