BELLY DANCE PART I: FOUNDATIONS

This class is great for both novices and experienced dancers. You will learn American Tribal Style belly dance (ATS)—the fundamental movements, partner work, isolations, strength, and conditioning drills. This class builds a strong foundation and is instrumental in familiarizing students with the Tribal Evolution belly dance troupe unique vocabulary. This is a low-impact class suitable for all body types and ages. BELLY DANCE PART II: COMPLEX COMBOS

In this class we cover more complex drills and combinations, building on what you learned in the Part 1 class. We add props such as a 25-yard skirt, sword, zils, and tambourine. This class is best used in combination with Part 1, as there is no breakdown of the Part 1 steps. You must complete Part 1 before registering for Part 2. BELLY DANCE PART III: PERFORMANCE STEPS

Now that you have perfected your technique in Parts 1 and 2, you are ready to create a performance. This class will use your belly dance vocabulary and make it show-worthy. This includes musical interpretation, musician interaction, show layout, transitions, and staging. BELLY DANCE PART IV: TRIBAL EVOLUTION

This class is a professional-level belly dance class that requires full knowledge and skill of the Tribal Evolution vocabulary learned in our Belly Dance Part 1, 2, and 3 classes. Also, a belly dance sword, zils, a 25-yard skirt, a veil, a tambourine, and full TE costuming. Instructor approval required. BEGINNER ADULT TAP CLASS

Beginner Adult Tap class is for those who have never tapped (but have always wanted to learn), or those who want to pick it back up. Tap shoes are required. Class will be fun and easygoing. INTERMEDIATE ADULT TAP CLASS

DRAWING AND PASTELS

Students will learn how to draw from basic shapes, landscape, perspective, still life and animals. Drawing will be finished in pencil or pastels. Please bring 11x14 drawing tablet and No. 2 pencils. ART CLASS

The instructor teaches individually in different subjects and mediums to fit each students’ abilities. These include pastels, watercolor, acrylics, and oils. CLOGGING

Come learn American clogging that dates back to the Industrial Revolution in 18th-century England. Settlers brought it to the Americas then added different styles of dance from all the different immigrants from around the world. We dance to a variety of music styles, and it’s great exercise for the heart and the mind. Great for all ages/families. You will learn the eight basic steps of clogging and how to build them into new steps. CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Participants will develop gross motor skills and music appreciation through various song and dance activities. JO-ANN’S LITTLE DANCERS TUMBLING & SPORTIES FOR SHORTIES

This class teaches the fundamentals of gymnastics on a floor mat, while developing flexibility and strength. Children will learn beginning sports skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and even parachute exercises. Class will build self-confidence and create group interaction skills while supporting the child’s selfesteem and positive image. Jo-Ann’s Little Dancers equips children with basic art and dance techniques. Notes: Ms. Jo-Ann’s classes are progressive, with a formal spring recital in May. Classes will work on stretches, leaps, and turns that will be put together in combinations and dance routines. Some sessions may be more or less than 4 weeks. Instructor will send out a notice and classes will be prorated as needed. Ballet shoes, leotards, and tights are required for all dance classes. HIP HOP & TUMBLE COMBO

This Hip-Hop flip-flop combo class is for energetic little ones who are always showing off their dance moves and love to flip around. It combines the basics of hip-hop and tumbling skills with age-appropriate movement and music. Dancers will perform a hip-hop dance in our End of Year Showcase. This class encourages early socialization skills, motor skills, and physical activity. Twirl is our unique tap, jazz, and ballet combo class that helps your petite dancer learn age-appropriate dance steps and proper terminology in a creative, lively, and fun setting. Dancers will receive a Twirl book with imaginative activities to do in class! We’ll store the book at the studio throughout the year, and the dancers will take them home at the end of the dance season. All dancers will also receive a personalized Twirl Graduation Certificate at our End of Year Showcase!
