The music industry is thriving and continues to build strongly postpandemic. This course will give you the core skills needed to work in this growing industry.

Industry-led course focused on entrepreneurship and employability.

In your first year, you will be introduced to the structure of the music industry and begin looking at music law. You will study artist management, artists & repertoire, and release and market records from vinyl to digital streaming. You will plan and host live events, build music audiences and fan bases,and run the student radio station.

Our expert staff will develop your entrepreneurial skills in your second year, when you bid for actual funding for your music business ideas and negotiate industry work placements. The course cultivates independence with your vocational projects being defined, planned and controlled by you. You will also build up your area of music industry expertise via a research project. Your degree allows you to extend and apply your music business knowledge, encouraging collaboration with your fellow MET students in filmmaking, design, photography and other disciplines essential to your growing professional network. In your third year, one-to-one tutorials will inform your projects, plus weekly industry visits from practitioners across all sectors of the music industry, including record labels, publishers, artist managers, music lawyers and performing artists across all genres, including many successful MET alumni.
