Greetings to all the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce members! As we start seeing new growth outside, we’re excited to tell you about some of the new growth that’s already occurred inside your NEW Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce (GHDCC). All of the individual websites are now re-directed to the GHDCC page. Future updates will improve the design and functionality of the website but, for now, anyone searching for a local Chamber will find us under the GHDCC banner. Since the first of the year, we’ve hosted Valley Morning Insights (the first Wednesday of each month), bi-monthly Coffee Break Updates (every other Friday), and monthly Legislative Action Updates. These are all being held virtually until we can get back together in person. We’re also thrilled to announce that our first combined, inperson event will be our First Annual GHDCC Golf Tournament! We’re partnering again this year with the Lewis Center for Educational Research to support the science education of teachers and students throughout the High Desert and the tournament will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Spring Valley Lake Country Club. Sponsorships are available and Raffle Prize donations gladly accepted. One of the structural changes that you may notice is the Business Councils for Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Victorville which will continue to monitor the legislative action at the local level, support the ribbon cuttings and business activities within their boundaries (when we can start hosting those again), and ensure that the local “flavor” of the prior Chambers continues to exist. It’s been my privilege to serve as the inaugural Chair for the GHDCC and to begin carrying out our mission: To support and sustain a thriving regional business community with a strong and unified voice that prospers through informed leaders and vital legislative support, and offers educational, high-level networking, and enhanced promotional opportunities.
