Welcome to Greater Midland Tennis Center. I encourage you to explore our 39 court (16 indoor) facility one of the largest in the nation. We look forward to getting you connected with so many in our community that love the social aspect of the tennis center. GMTC offers the best overall tennis experience for any age from the complete novice to the highly competitive. We want to be your activity of choice in the Great Lakes Bay Region. GMTC is a very social place for both adults and juniors, where we encourage our players to stay and hang out long after they play. We have fire pits, ping pong table, lounge/ TV area, kitchen, bar and more. It is truly a great place to be. The Greater Midland Tennis Center is one of the first of its kind to build an entire program around adults and their tennis. We want our adult tennis players to learn, train and play great tennis. Our goal is to provide the skills to make tennis a lifelong sport and one that they can share and play with friends and family.
We also have an outstanding junior program that has both a recreational aspect as well as a complete competitive pathway. Our program pathway starts as young as three and includes 10 & under, middle school, high school students and our Elite Tennis Academy for tournament players. The Junior Development Program will give your children the most comprehensive tennis experience possible. We have many great member benefits that include discounts on programs, free court time, leagues and much more. MEMBERSHIP The Greater Midland Tennis Center is ranked one of the top 25 tennis facilities in the United States and in 2009, the U.S. Tennis Association rated Midland the “Best Tennis Town in America.” Each year the Dow Tennis Classic, a world-renowned Women’s USTA Pro-Circuit Tournament, is held at the Tennis Center. YOU can play on the same courts as the pros! The Tennis Center features 16 indoor courts and 19 full-sized outdoor courts, including 4 clay courts. The wide variety of class offerings caters to people of all ages and skill levels. JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT
RECREATIONAL PATHWAY
TENNIS WHIZZ (Ages 3-4)
Fun Learning Environment Our Junior Development Program is built on a foundation of progressions. Each program offers instruction, competition, social interaction and opportunities for practice. At every level of our program, we have very simple but specific goals to help your children reach his or her peak performance. The program is effective because we match each child with the right sized court, ball, racquet and age level for their development. There are several levels in the program, each offering a more challenging set of skills, so as children master one level, they progress to the next level. The program is a complete recreational and competitive pathway that includes 10 & under, middle school and high school students. We believe our Junior Development Program will give your children the most comprehensive tennis experience possible.

More than just working on their game, our coaches help your child work on their personal skills by building trust, motivation & improvement in all elements of the game.
Our Junior Development Program gives players many opportunities to improve their skills and have the freedom to try new things in a fun environment.
SOCIAL INTERACTION & EVENTS
COMPETITION
Five to six times a year, we have a large event for our Red, Orange and Green Ball players to focus on their competitive skills. These Evolution World Tour events are a great time for all players to compete in tennis activities – and an amazing opportunity to meet and interact with other kids on the court.
Players get many chances to test what they’ve learned in a play format. Our focus is on improving the process itself.

The third level of Red Tennis continues with stroke shaping and more advanced skill development. At this level, our students will learn how to send the ball to designated areas so they build the technical side of their game as well as the tactical side.

Tennis Whizz, our national program for children age 6 and younger, utilizes tennis for personal development. Activities include jumping, running, hopping, throwing, catching, swinging, managing space, following directions, controlling objects and interacting with other children. ETA ELITE TOURNAMENT PLAYERS Designed for players who are committed and aspire to play high-level college tennis and national junior USTA tournaments. This program requires hard work with high-intensity drilling and point play. Players will focus on strong work ethic, discipline, tactics and being able to execute under pressure in order to take their game to the next level. ADULTS The Greater Midland Tennis Center is one of the first of its kind to build an entire program around adults and their tennis game. That’s because we want our adult tennis players to learn, train and play great tennis. We want each player who comes through to become the best tennis player they can be. Our programs are designed for the pure beginner up to the advanced tournament player. Our goal is to provide the skills to make tennis a lifelong sport and one that they can share and play with friends and family.

Like the name says, you are going to hit a lot of balls. This class will help you get tuned up for your next match, or get a certain stroke grooved. Your confidence will be sky high after leaving this class because of intensive instruction. We offer a combination of dead ball feeding, along with live ball rallying to get you ready for your next league, match or tournament.
