It’s been our experience that the minute we go to print with our annual guide, a new business opens its doors, ultimately rendering our guide not as up to date as we would like it to be. This time around, we are doing our travel guide a little differently. We hope you will use this guide as inspiration. The local food produced here in the Great Western Catskills is our pride and joy. Shopping the farmers’ markets scattered all over the County allows you to shop directly from the farms and producers. Find the highest quality and diverse assortment of vegetables, eggs, meats, baked goods, dairy, craft beverages and so much more.

Meredith Dairy Fest

Every June, this fest (meredithdairyfest.net) celebrates all things dairy with livestock, vendors, concessioners, vintage baseball, and loads of fun for kids.

Margaretville Fire Department

Field Days

(margaretvillefiredept.org) takes place every July in Margaretville, with a week-long carnival featuring music, fireworks, rides, vendors, and much more. Field Days are held each year in the days surrounding Independence Day.

Delhi Bridge Run

Held annually on the first Saturday in June (visitdelhiny.org), this 5K walk/run benefits scholarships for local high school seniors.

Annual Hobart Sausage & Brew Festival

(hobartrotary.com) is held in late August each year. Enjoy an afternoon and evening focused on sausage sourced from local farms, New York State beer and cider, along with live music, games, and more in a beautiful streamside setting in Hobart.

Delaware County Fair

Every August in Walton (delawarecountyfair.org) is an agricultural fair that attracts 80,000 people every year. Six days of exhibits, demos, livestock, food, carnival rides, and fun on the huge fairgrounds.

The Deposit Lumberjack Festival

July in Deposit (depositlumberjack. wixsite.com/lumberjackfestival) offers three days of fun, carnival rides, lumberjack competitions, tractor pulls, fireworks and more.

Catskill Mountain Yoga Festival

Every July at Platekill Mountain in Roxbury (catskillmountainyogafestival. com) offers over 30 different yoga classes, workshops and more. A day of family fun, held indoors, outdoors and on the mountain tops of Delaware County.

Andes Community Day

is held each August in Andes (andesnewyork.com). A parade and events town-wide commemorate the history of the town of Andes.

AMR Open Studio Tour

Each July (amropenstudios.org) welcomes visitors to the galleries, barns, studios, and homes of artists of every discipline throughout Delaware County.

Stagecoach Run Arts Festival

Each July (stagecoachrun.com) is a free, self-guided open studio and gallery tour of some of the area’s best artists, performers and makers.

Stunning covered bridges, old schoolhouses, vintage railroads and an incredible working mill from the 1840’s are just some of the ways you can experience the history of Delaware County. Bovina Farm Day

Labor Day Sunday

(farmingbovinany.org) is an agricultural festival held in Bovina’s fields with farm tours, hayrides, a scarecrow-making contest, old-fashioned games and food.

West Kortright Fair is hosted in East Meredith (westkc.org) and marks summer’s end with live music, food, and entertainment in an annual Labor Day extravaganza.

Taste of the Catskills

Columbus Day weekend in Delhi (tasteofthecatskills.com), is a two-day festival of live music, culinary delights, workshops, activities, and performances.

Annual Plattepalooza Family Fall Festival

Columbus Day Weekend, at Plattekill Mountain (plattekill.com) in Roxbury. BBQ, seasonal microbrews, pumpkin painting, face painting, craft vendors, and activities for kids including a magic show. Fun for all ages.

Margaretville Cauliflower Festival held every September in Margaretville (margaretvillecauliflowerfestival.org), honors the region’s cauliflower industry with food vendors, music, and a tractor parade.

Delhi Harvest Festival in Delhi, presents local produce vendors, arts and crafts, fun activities, and live music on Courthouse Square every September.

Fall Festival in Sidney (sidneychamber.org), is a full day of family fun throughout the downtown village of Sidney, each October.

FIDDLERS!

Columbus Day weekend at the Roxbury Arts Center (roxburyartsgroup.org), is the annual celebration of the traditional sounds of the Catskills with live music, square dancing, and great food.

We are known for our incredible outdoor attractions and beauty, but we also have fantastic indoor attractions too. From a gorgeous historic theater to fitness centers to bowling, you can always find an indoor activity if mother nature is not cooperating, or you are just wanting to find indoor fun.
